A little warning to mod creators of non adult mods....
bjornk replied to LordNecris's topic in General Discussion
Most people can't afford to buy games at full price and a lot people don't even buy DLCs unless they are included in the price. Contrary to what some of you think, people don't shit money. People use mods because they are free. When you demand money or donation for mods you're shooting yourself in the foot, as most people will never pay for them and will also form a negative opinion about using mods, which will, in return, damage modding and moddable games altogether. Shouldn't be that difficult to imagine. -

I need a catchy slogan for my signature to protest this shit. Any ideas? (Hope you guys won't start charging people for ideas as well!) -

Revenue and content control. -
The ones who do it for money are called professional game developers.

Skyrim LE is 10 Euros right now.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Perhaps paid membership is on the horizon, who knows? -

As Gopher has also pointed out in his video, some modders were already prepared for this, they "knew" this was coming. There's something really fishy about this whole thing. -

I suppose this is my "told you so" moment. -
Of course they will introduce a DRM scheme, which will potentially break non-Workshop mods. We're probably going to need a "cracked" version of Skyrim in order to run LL mods.
-
Except, the SKSE team itself might get on the Workshop bandwagon and start demanding money for it. Say, how 'bout 20 bucks? A lot of mods require it, you know.

Steam has been known to sell broken and/or unpatched games, what makes you think that they'll care for broken mods? They won't. All they (Valve & Bethesda) want is to make some money out of modders' ass, as if they haven't already made enough. -

The most important question is, what will you do if the next Steam update, in order to establish a DRM-like system for paid mods, prevents you from running the game with your current mod setup? Hmm, better start looking for a pirated version that doesn't require Steam. -

You can be sure that dozens of assholes will steal other people's mods that are posted on Nexus, perhaps on LL, and upload them on the Workshop and demand money for them. -
You're going to pay at least twice as much for the next Bethesda game and for the mods that are required to make it work properly. Great, isn't it?
-
Let's hope all this won't give Ashal ideas! BTW, we should discuss this topic under a single thread. It doesn't involve Skyrim modding only., http://www.loverslab.com/topic/46131-a-little-warning-to-mod-creators-of-non-adult-mods/

Reminded me of our previous discussion in this thread... http://www.loverslab.com/topic/43968-skyrim-drops-100mb-file-limitation-on-steam/ Their next step would probably be to establish a Workshop monopoly over every moddable game sold on Steam. Say goodbye to your mod managers if you want to mod Bethesda games. It's a good development, I love it... One more reason to stay clear of Steam/Valve and Bethesda... I'm sure there are many modders who are happy to get paid 25% of their mod's worth, while Valve and Beth gets the rest of the money... -
Of course, in order to sneakily approach a multi-crew ship, you'd need a Klingon cloaking device which can be bought from the cash shop! Also, in order to detect cloaked ships, you'd need a detection module which is also available in the cash shop! Oh, you don't have the funds? No problem, please check out the employment opportunities at the Orbital Brothel!

The 750TI shares the same architecture (Maxwell) with the 9xx series, therefore it needs less power to run. From Wikipedia... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maxwell_(microarchitecture)

The download page above is probably for retail versions of Windows and therefore only accepts retail keys. In other words, if the key you entered there is the one for the Windows that came with your laptop, MS won't accept it and won't allow you to download the ISO. Until recently, you could download legit Windows 7 ISOs from Digital River, but sadly, they are no longer available. I think Microsoft's been consciously trying to erase every trace of Windows 7 on the planet. I doubt it'll work in your case but you might want to give this a try, if you can find an ISO. http://www.howtogeek.com/75496/how-to-reinstall-windows-without-having-to-reactivate/ If you're a student, you can buy Windows 8.1 Pro for about 60 Euros directly from Microsoft, pretty decent deal if you ask me. You can then install Classic Shell and you're good to go. http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msde/de_DE/list/Software-fur-Studenten-/categoryID.67800200 They'll give you a key and with that key you can download the ISO and do a clean install. If you can pay a little more, you can even order DVD media for Win 8.1 Pro (they'll send you two DVDs, one for the 32-bit version and another for the 64-bit).

A slaver guild and career as a slaver would be cool. Kidnap other players by either picking them up when their ships are destroyed or sneakily board multi-crew ships and grab them while they are asleep and then sell them to aliens as a slave for good money!

Instead of trying to get rid of system files, I recommend that you keep your game files on another drive, a 120GB SSD is too small to keep large games.
-
So you have 16 GB RAM. I don't see any problem there.
-
Go to Start, type cmd and run it, type DIR C:\*.SYS /AH, and see if there's a hiberfil.sys. It's size should be 75% of your total RAM.
