You literally just defined selling out.... so you agree with them. Great! Next convo.

When the steam workshop was first created. One of the main points for people not to upload there was the fact that Valve owns anything uploaded. Of course I wasn't people of this and they still do it cause, "More people see my mod and I get more endorsements!" I even got some. "It's not like they can make money off of my mods." Yeah that turned out great. Then these... persons of lesser wit decided to upload their mods to the Steam Workshop knowing full well that they will own their mods because of money. I only saw a few original mods made explicitly for the paid steam workshop. Anyone who was just re-uploading their old mods with a update were just money grabbing. Only Expired did it right. He uploaded a new mod to steam workshop and the same version to the Nexus. Since the workshop doesn't have a "donation what you want" button he used it like that.

I'm not talking about that I'm talking about cease and desists being thrown at people who produce them and pornographic mods being a complete no no in general. Pretty much Pornographic mods being treated as harshly as pirating.

Regardless on your view of the subject. Paid modding is coming in the future. One question I'd like to ask is, what do you guys think will happen to us? You can't have an organized and funded operation with a guy in the corner pounding his meat. Do you think they will implement non-pornography rules to modding? It makes sense doesn't it? Everything has such rules but modding has been a community based no mans land. CBBE is the fifth highest mod on the Nexus with UNP at 22. It's not like that changes for any other moddable game. They didn't stop you from doing it but it isn't advertized. It's not like Steam went "Skyrim modding! You can put HH tits on your character for 9.99!" Will future Bethesda games have rules against such mods to legitimize the sale of mods as a non-pornographic business venture? Sex sales but I doubt they want actual sex floating around especially since people will be buying mod for their adorable little children.

Seriously dude... >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npU_XeL6YDs There were a couple of assholes (We all know who it is) but nobody betrayed anybody. Someone had to try out the paid mod system to know that it sucked. Best it be people we all know. Now as a community we can think about what went wrong and try to handle this right next time. But we can't if people start throwing each other under the bus for trying to support themselves off of their work.

It had to be done. If they plan to implement this they can't do it after everyone is already using everyone else resources. Be it even unseeble resources like playtesters. To visible ones like ENB, Racemenu Character, HD texture, SMIM furniture, Realistic lighting overhaul lighting, etc. Screenshots. And that's the small stuff. A lot of people are saying this was a bad thing and that people just want free mods. But it's a lot bigger than that. The 25% to modders was unreasonable. And a lot of the modders who sold mods keep saying that it may have changed in the future. But they sound like victims of domestic violence. Personally I'm an Artist professionally. I spend a lot of time trying to gauge my work and deciding if the pay is okay or unreasonable. The payment system for the paid mods was 100% unacceptable. Their was 0 chance that you could make a living off of it like the originally claimed. They redacted that statement almost immediately. Ignoring the fact that was the way they fraised it to the involved modders. If I could mod for a living, I would do it. But like all arts you got to go to court over it A LOT to get livable payment arrangements and you can get livable payment arrangements. But not if you just belly over and accept the unacceptable arrangement that you're given.

Bring back paid mods. The next big mod to replace "Give me money for no reason" and "Free Forever"! http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65223/?

Video was perfect! But humans will always hope for a different out come.

Arthmoor just posted this little nugget on wisdom on his site. So if you paid for mods.... well, sucks to be you right now. Yeah... I agreed with you lol XD

Chesko taking his mods down is what fanned the flames of the paid mods models destruction. He was the first person to remove his mod even better because it use another modders assets. It showed Valve that the Skyrim modding community was already to old and it was unlikely to except the changes. When half the mods out there use assets from other modders. They have to deal with constant complaints that mods are stolen material and modders complaining about not receive a cut of the profits from another modders work that includes theirs. They might try it again but it would be with a new game. Any mods made for it would behind a pay wall from the beginning. Though that would start the end of sites like the Nexus an this one. Since they wouldn't want free mods to be available to increase profits.

It's a troll topic. Hilarious. But a troll topic.

If Fallout 4 isn't on Steam. They plan to use a paid modding model and/or are butt hurt and wont release modding tools. If Fallout 4 is on Steam. We're in the clear. And won't have to worry about that since Valve isn't going to lose sales since the IP has the same fan base as Skyrim and would boycott the game if a paid modding model was used. They might still be butt hurt and not release modding tools.
-
You know they are.... Only reason why they came back after all these years was for our money...

He brings cards to gun fights! That's next level awesome.

2 of my favorite modder proving that all modders are created equally on Forever Free's Nexus forum page.
-
Well, if you look at the updated post. It reads like this "Valve pulled out and we only sell Skyrim through Steam so we lost" "Also we care about the community... I guess... Fuck, we lost our money..." Because Fuck Bethesda. Don't miss the celebration. http://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/343dde/tomorrow_creation_kids_celebration_and_victory_lap/
-
Seriously though. Those guys are like "fuck me..." Gonna see how long it takes for them to put their updated mods on the Nexus. Probably gonna disappear for 6 mouths again like they all did before this happened though.
-
Valve should add a donate what you want button and ask people who bought mods if they'd rather donate to them instead of receiving a refund of (lol) steam credit. Because Fuck Bethesda. That's my new saying. Should put it on a shirt.
-
Valve isn't going to risk it's reputation for just 1 IP.

http://steamcommunity.com/games/SteamWorkshop/announcements/detail/208632365253244218 Fuck you Bethesda!

I just dropped this on their page like Mjolnir. "45%? How are your console Skyrim sales doing? Cause your PC sales are doing great. Why? Because of mods. You made a AAA game just like every other company who makes AAA games. You made it in 2011. I wonder how many other companies still have an IP from 2011, still being consistently played without the original developer putting out updates/ patches on it. You are literally profiting off of modders. Then you turn around and do something good and offer them a chance to make a living off of your product. Knowing good and well that's current and future success if because of them. Then you ruin the gesture by placing a 45% tax on all of their sales? What are you currently or planning in the future to do to earn that 45%?"
-
Bethesda seriously thinks that them getting 45% is okay... to play a mod in the first place they make money cause Skyrim isn't a free to play game....
-
Complete crafting overhaul allows you to craft multiples of items. Everything has been done before as they say.
-
Well, you just proved my point. It's not that nobody fixed the problem. YOU DID! But the thing about some modders. They don't like help. They do everything on their own and refuse help or consider any constructive criticism as flaming/trolling. Chances are someone else fixed it too (if it was as easy as you say) and sent it to them and they just ignored it or turned up their nose at it. I say we have the best modding community because we do. Note who isn't part of it rather than who is and you'll see why.
