You can't sell mods at that quality level. What are they? Bethesda... wait...
-
Why is everyone talking about stopping modding and not using the Nexus and what not? You should be modding more! Make more free mods. Make better versions of paywall mods. One guy making a good mod, doesn't stop 5 modders from putting their heads together to make something X5 better. This is the best modding community on the internet. We make mostly adult mods because no one else does, not because we can't make anything different. Come on pull your shit together!
-
It's a good initiative. Modders with it on their pages will be less likely to make mods then put updates behind paywalls once they get hot file/ file of the month. A future problem that nobody wants to deal with.

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65155/? I really like what they said about paid mods (It's close to the bottom of the page). Gratitude vs compensation. I think it's a confusing argument. Hard to find an answer but Bethesda getting 40% isn't it. I'm personally fine with Steam getting 35% they are hosting and advertizing the mods, that's the usually about what you'd pay for those services. Bethesda getting 40% is like comic book artists paying 40% to the company that makes the paper they draw on. That's just stupid. Also this mod makes playing through Dawnguard adorable.

Doesn't take long to do that. Just make the npcs in the creation kit. You can use generic Nords to make your unique npcs. Then give them the quest package. Disable the original hired thugs. And that rare, rare moment when the hired thugs come for you they will be the unique npcs. That's all you get for free.

Well to be fair we're evil too. Just Lawful Evil instead of Chaotic evil.

This man seriously put ads in the free version of his mod so people have to buy it to get rid of them... what is this? Spotify? http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1516854-midas-magic-spells-for-skyrim-xilverbulet-in-game-ads/

Why boycott Steam? They've done nothing wrong. Plus they've been hosting purchasable mods for along time now, for TF2. Where were you when they started? Cause you kind of late.

This isn't a rant threat or a long discussion thread, just my personal warning to my fellow modders. A lot of people are angry about paywalls and at Steam workshop and what have you, but personally I'm more worried about the modders. I feel like a lot of modders don't respect the integrity of their work. When someone offers to pay you for your work it's a good think it means it's worth something. But when they own your work and you don't get a respectable cut based on how much work you have preformed it becomes obvious that you are either confused or don't respect your work. Bethesda decided that they should receive 40% of the profits of any mod made for their game. Which is outrageous. 5% is a more reasonable number. Modders should be getting 75% of the profits, 25% going to licensing, distribution, advertizing and hosting. When I first saw this I instantly thought of the empty lot episode of Hey Arnold. The kids cleaned up an empty and abandon lot so they would have somewhere safe to play. Adults instantly saw all of their hard work and decided to profit off of it. Sound familiar? Bethesda hasn't touched Skyrim in years. No new patches to fix still recurring errors, no new DLC. The USKP team fixed those and modders made the new DLC. Bethesda hasn't earned 40% they ran away and came back to take the credit. Even the Pokemon company are still releasing bug fixes for the X&Y version even though the newer and updated ORAS versions are out. From a business stand point letting the bugs stay and using them as a reason to upgrade to the newer version is a good idea but the Pokemon company has integrity. Bethesda doesn't and there for doesn't deserve 40 of any money made from your work and Valve doesn't deserve to own your hard work. I could go on about the subject for 10,000 words but I'd rather give an visual example and let modders make their on decision. Enjoy. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4U5Wln5ltAs

How is it moot? Bethesda didn't hire them to fix it and haven't been paying their bill these past 10 years. That's like building a home for your family for 10 years. Then having a guy with the deed to the land come along and gives you 500 bucks. Walks in and locks you out. Imagine how much you'd make doing even half the work they've done on Bethesda games, if you worked for Bethesda. You'd be the golden child in their company. Hard working with a permanent position and benefits. 25% isn't an even trade. Everyone is scrounging for scraps, forgetting what their work is worth. It's sad.

Advertising. Having a price tag nets the half-life mod advertising that your mod doesn't have. Do random stuff like look for mods without logging in from your browser and what not. You'd see the half life mod 75% more than your mod. Plus Steam Workshop is fueled by fandom mods. Looks at all of the joke mod subscribers and subscribers from mods like KH and Bleach mods. Serious mods are found on the Nexus and joke mods and sketchy license mods are found on the Steam workshop. It's been that way for so long that it's going to be a while before it changes. A lot with people who download mods as hobbyists are generally against the Workshops restricting installation process and would get your mod from the Nexus instead. You'd lose in subs even if your mod had the same advertising advantages. Your target audience isn't on the Workshop.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=431049259&searchtext= This is amazing! It's like a kickstarter to get a whole virtual bucket. I should start making shitty mods for steam. I never thought to make mods for steam since your options are so limited. But this is too good to pass up!.

You can donate after you know a mod is good, instead of before you know it's crap. It's a big difference.

Honestly Isoku's mods need to be taken down as well. They use SKSE and SKYUI. I don't see him giving a portion of his 25% to those who worked hard on those mods. You can't charge for mods that use/ require assets from other mods. Armors & Weapons are fine but anything using SKSE and SKYUI's MCM features needs to banned from selling. If he can figure out a way to make his mods work without those mods more power to him. A lot of the mods on Steam were stolen or uploaded without permission for the longest time. Valve wasn't exactly quick with removing those mods either. I don't see this ending well at all.

hdtSkyrimMemPatch, does it replace SKSE memory fix?
cornbreadtm replied to Bonnie Lass's topic in HDT Physics Extension
They are indeed the same. You can use them both at the same time. At least I do Never really had the need to turn one off. Just make sure they don't have different setting or turn on off. -
Sounds like a save bloat. What size was you saves before they started slowing down and what size are they now?

And of course everyone who hates it hasn't played it... How is ToR these days? I played it for a while at launch and stopped after my 3rd character got close to endgame since I realized that was all there was left to do. I'm not a big MMO guy, so I won't do the same dungeon over and over every day just to get armor that will make it easier to do the next set of dungeons over and over. Plus I mained a scrapper scoundrel and they kept nerfing my class till nobody wanted to bring me to raids. When it went ftp I installed it and checked it out but it didn't seem any different so I uninstalled again.

Anyone else notice the Skyrim mini patches?
cornbreadtm replied to nutluck's topic in Skyrim General Discussion
I've been getting Skyrim mods off of Steam lately. It's still confusing as fuck though. Seems to be the place to go if you wants mods ripped from other games with 0 permission lol. A lot of those games are hosted on Steam though, so It's probably not as much a problem for them as the Nexus or us at LL. Though 99% of the mods on Workshop are either on the Nexus or Dukie. Stupid workshop... just give me a damn zip file so I know what I'm installing. -
I got it for like 20 bucks off steam a while back. It's a MMO, so I really have no opinion on that aspect since I don't play with others. But the quests and lore are all fun since I like the elder scrolls. It was well worth the money. If I was a big MMO guy who played WoW my whole adult life, I might not like it since it's not WoW, which is what people in game don't like about it. Whenever I get somewhere that needs a party I end up exiting and playing Skyrim lol. I was an only child growing up I don't like sharing my games others. But it is fun talking to people about Elder Scrolls who like Elder Scrolls.

So guys, how about instead of 50 different boob/butt/belly/vagina/nipple/left big toe physics mods, maybe a few armor mods?
cornbreadtm replied to Keyboard Warrior's topic in HDT Physics Extension
The blade & soul armors are being converted. A lot of them are havoked in there original game and people are taking advantage of that with the conversion to Skyrim. Also Chronotrigger77 converted all of the vanilla armors to HDT a while ago. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25259/? PSQ PlayerSuccubusQuest for Sexlab
cornbreadtm replied to ojanen's topic in Downloads - SexLab Framework
Are you using the aroused settings? One of them makes it so if you character isn't aroused enough they change back to normal. -
Here's your problem 'Better females by bella'. Pick a texture. Any texture. And it will be better. 1. Install fair skin complexion, mature face or sg. 2. Get artistic talent. 3. Install Racemenu 3. 4. and make a good looking face with it in showracemenu. Pretty much how everyone else does it. Though some don't get past number 2.

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59416/?The UNP version of bounce and jiggle has a UNP body with a belly node. If you were to use bodyslide you couldn't use UNP armors do to the texture UV differences so I'd suggest avoiding that path. Plus a body slide UNP doesn't look like UNP unless you pan your camera out to the max lol.

It was sarcasm my friend. But seriously you guys should check it out and fire up that google translator!
