    Hi all, I recently installed the latest FNIS with MO & everything works fine, I just keep getting the message "FNIS AA quest started" on start up of my game every time. I had a look on Nexus for any answers, but didn't see anything & so many posts to go through (so I could of missed it)  :s I was wondering if anyone could help me on here please?

    Not too hard, just know your limits is all. I use performance textures on most of my stuff. Mostly 1k or if I can't get that, 2k. If a mod actually has performance textures, use them. The quality is barely noticeable and it helps. Then I also use things like SMCO to optimize all my textures and BSA textures. That will give you a big performance increase there.

     

    There is also mods that were designed to help stability in your game. Such as stable ugridstoload, Project Optimization, even Performance Plus. I recommend that last one as it changes the tiny little things like raindrops, snowflakes, pin needles, and aspen leaves to really small sizes without any noticeable quality loss. And it's an FPS increase, so yay!

     

    I don't use Depth of Field in any ENB, I prefer Dynavision set to Static at 1.0 scale. It looks way better in my opinion and gives you a performance boost to boot (Depth of Field is a performance eater. If you can't live without it, turn it off during normal gameplay and then turn it on during screenshots).

     

    Find an ENB that suits you. I know everyone wants a super flashy ENB that eats their system, but find something more subtle and not so game killing. Too much effects are overkill, so avoid the heavy ones and try some of the rare gems. Things like Project ENB, Vividian ENB, and a few others are great for looks and performance. If you want pure performance, check out RealLike ENB. Then adjust your AA via Nvidia Control Panel, as it looks better any ways.

     

    Clean your mods! And use unoffical patches! This helps a lot as well. Same with proper load order and avoiding conflicts. Take good care of your game, and it will take care of you. Make sure your load order is just right, don't just go with what LOOT or BOSS gives you. Fine tune it yourself. And use TES5Edit to clean those dirty edits out! I keep my mods updated all the time when I can, so I can avoid old versions causing bugs as well. As well, try to avoid too many scripted mods. They can slow your game down just as much as any graphic overhaul. A few here and there are fine, but don't go overboard.

     

     

    Lastly, follow this guide. Skyrim Project Stability.

     

    This will help you setup your computer for better performance overall with everything. From cleaning your old files, defrag, scans, disabling services, etc. This will help your computer as a whole run much better.

     

    When I play Skyrim, or anything for that matter, I have nothing running on my computer. Seriously, the bare bones. Go to your windows search, and find "msconfig". This will show you all the programs that are starting up on your computer when you start it. You don't need all that. Seriously the only stuff I have running on my computer at all times is:

     

    -Windows Explorer

    -Nvidia stuff (NO GEFORCE EXPERIENCE. Junk it)

    -Avast Antivirus

     

    That's it. Literally. Because that is all you need running. If you need a pretty desktop, keep the Desktop Window Manager. Otherwise, anything else is just clutter that is using up memory. So uncheck those boxes so that stuff doesn't start up every time you start your computer.

     

    And clean your old files! Don't leave old uninstalled folders laying around taking up space. If you uninstalled something, then delete the left overs. Another thing, delete your temp folders. In C:\Windows\Temp\ there is a ton of junk to delete in there. Always clean it out. As well, in C:\User\AppData\Local\Temp\ is even more junk to clean out and delete. Keep those folders clean from piled up junk.

     

     

    Okay enough blah blah from me, but just check that out. SMCO most importantly. Use it to optimize your textures and bsas. And that Project Stability page as well. It'll help you optimize your computer.
