Show your Skyrim counterpart...

S'more ENB tinkering, added a new armor set by Karter (check out his blog...not a lot of stuff there to d/l for LB3, but it's all good stuff). Had to do a rough Russian to English translation for the .esp, but it works just fine Also added a few more KS hairs to the Dem Race...most fit just fine without too much tinkering. Really like the one on my char right now, might just stick with it for a while. Karter's House blog http://kartermods.blogspot.com/2015/10/dem-beta.html N~dles -

Once again, messing with ENB settings and what not. Gave up on using the v.279 binary and more recent presets...tinkered around with a bunch of them and couldn't find the best balance between performance & visuals. Decided to go 'old school'...RCRN AE, Frank's DoF & Shadow Fix ENB v.119 (not old school, more like ancient...but it works great ), ELFX & the usual particle patches. Can't say I see a whole lot of difference in terms of visuals for the 'look' I want from newer ENBs, but the performance is 100% better. Obviously missing out on SSAO and other cool stuff, but I'm not really playing the game for screen archery...I still play the game to play it (gasp...shock...horror). TLDR...some pics of my char and a random of an innkeeper. Again, not sexy pics...just some shots to check shadows, DoF and general lighting with this new set up. Feedback is always welcome N~dles -
Underwear On SOME Female Races
noodles1976 replied to SoFoolyCoolly's topic in Skyrim Technical Support
A couple of troubleshooting things come to mind... By default, that mod comes with bodies with underwear. You have to manually add the body replacer of choice for each race to each races' individual folders in Meshes. I'm looking at v0.86 Data -> Meshes -> Actor -> Character -> Argonian, Breton, DarkElf, HighElf, Imperial, Khajiit, Nord, Orc, Redguard, WoodElf ...do the same for textures for the bodies you're using. Be sure that the .esp for the mod is activated and low in your load order, or sort with LOOT. Open the .esp with the CK, and make sure that the file paths for the body .nifs are correct...could be an error there. Open the .nifs in NifSkope and check the texture paths under BSShaderTextureSet, if you're going to use a different skin texture for each race...ie Fair Skin for Bretons and TDoS for Nords etc...and edit them accordingly to direct them to the correct skin textures. Finally, be sure to toggle AI off/on...I know it's always supposed to be done, but sometimes I forget to do this and always kick myself later on when it's the "fix" I needed. Next, be sure that you have the nude versions of UNP & SOS installed in the mods' file structure, and that the meshes are named exactly like the files that come with the mod by default. You should get an "OK to overwrite" prompt from Windows when swapping in the meshes of choice. I don't use this mod, but after looking at what it does and it's file structure, these seem like the most obvious starting points to fix your troubles. Good luck! N~dles -

lol...how'd I miss that? Thanks Antrox! Now I feel a bit stoopid N~dles -
I have to agree with you there Kendo...E55 body is probably one of the best out there IMHO for Skyrim. I've used it before with custom races, mostly the Lunari...have to reinstall it again, since I recently rebuilt my Skyrim install on a new computer. It's a shame that there hasn't been any public support for it. Thanks for reminding me about it, need to add it to my game again...sad to see Xazomn & Eronel gave up on it. @ dayzeropunk - that's sort of the reason why I stopped using UNP & their derivatives for my characters (I use UNP for the vanilla race NPCs, but not for my characters as I mostly use custom races with alternate body mods for them). While it's not a total deal breaker, over time the distortions got more and more annoying to look at. UNP is a fantastic piece of work, don't get me wrong...I'm just not as big of a fan of it as I used to be. N~dles

Just type in bracket, 'spoiler', end bracket...add your IMG link...bracket, forward slash, 'spoiler', end bracket. It should look like this, without the extra spaces inside the closed brackets: [ spoiler ] IMG code link what-have-you [ / spoiler ] Hope that helps N~dles -
Growing up in the Midwest & dealing with tornadoes and the like, we called these storm cellar doors or just plain old cellar doors Grabbed your mod and going to give it a shakedown when I get some time to play later tonight...got to go grab the General Stores mod, not crazy about adding a scripted mod for play testing though. Guess that's what the save game cleaner is for N~dles

I'd say upload the mod when you feel it's complete...the thing is that there will always be somebody out there that appreciates the work you've done, and will use your mod. I'd be interested in it because it's minimalistic, simple is good. Not every player home needs to be a massive castle with servants and 100 + rooms, mini-quests and scripted hullabaloo. Looks very promising! N~dles

Perk overhauls. What do you use? And why?
noodles1976 replied to Gagoloth's topic in Skyrim General Discussion
I've tried a bunch over the years, I just use some of the standalone perk mods that only effect one particular skill tree or entire skill set (like Mighty Magick for the magic skills) now. The big packages do a lot of cool stuff, but I find it's easier for me to edit the individual perk mods to be tailored to exactly what I want...and make them all compatible with other mods I want to run. Makes my load order bigger, but it gives me the illusion of having more control over what I put in my game...I don't always love 100% of what another author has created, especially in some of the bigger 'overhaul everything' type mods. If I had to pick one from the list above, I'd probably go with Perkus Maximus. I had a lot of fun using that one last year. N~dles -

Hi there LL...I've been gone a long time Had my PC melt down back in July...completely put me off gaming again. Couldn't stay away from it though, got a new gaming system in August. Spent the last couple of months rebuilding my installs for the Bethesda games and finally got back into the groove of modding Skyrim. Latest version of my character...as usual, KrisTa LB 3 / Demonica mods etc, texture edits and ENB blah-blah-blah. Nothing to sexy...just poser cheesecake stuff. N~dles -
This http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13166/? and http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/45042/? are the only two magic mods I use. Mighty Magic is pretty much an all-in-one mod, enables spell power scaling with your level / perks, Mark & Recall spells, perks that make sense for a mage character...Bound Armory makes all the bound gear a lot more useful and fun to use. I can't recommend them enough N~dles

Mod for stealth invisibility?
noodles1976 replied to sci fi samurai's topic in Fallout Non Adult Mods
You might want to consider this one as well...it's the one I always use: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35115/? Hot key it to turn on...or equip the config version to turn you invisible when you crouch. Works perfectly. N~dles -
Imposing, but sexy, not skimpy, female armour.
noodles1976 replied to ColonelHandsome's topic in Skyrim General Discussion
^ Yep, your statement is very true about LL. Most people are willing to offer advice or solutions to troubles you might be having, because let's face it...we've all needed some modding help at one time or another. There are only two websites that I actively participate in the forums regarding Skyrim or Fallout...here and GUN (formerly VGU). I just like the idea of a site where it's like sitting around and bullshitting with your friends...everybody is laid back and easy to get along with. Cheers N~dles -

noodles1976 replied to ColonelHandsome's topic in Skyrim General Discussion
True, but I was approaching this without any presumption of ColonelHandsome's modding ability, or knowledge of how to use body slide. It's good you posted this info Yatol. I would point out that some of the LB2 armor mods do have dependencies on master files though, like the LB VampLord .esp. Granted, this plugin does a lot more than just add armor...but it's always a good idea to be aware of dependencies. N~dles -

Haven't had many screenshots to post lately...been busy breaking my game and trying to fix it After fixing some serious performance issues I was running into (serious lag, CTDs on fast travel & saving) over the last week, I'm back to playing again. I won't even mention what was causing it...suffice to say it was the mother of all noobish things to do wrong when updating mods. Took some time over the weekend to putter about with making a custom race better suited to how I play the game. Basically I duplicated the Demonica race, changed its stats, powers, racial benefits, and lore to be a Breton / Nord hybrid. I'm tentatively calling it a 'High Rock Nord', hailing from the border towns of Skyrim & High Rock. Magic resistance & frost resistance are the racial boons, a bump in light armor, restoration, alteration, marksman, and one-handed are the skill benefits. Still just testing things out and testing the Bleak ENB... Random pics are random... Currently sorting through KS 400 hairs & SG 268 to find at least 3 or 4 more hair styles to add, plus other eye colors. I've edited the skin diffuse maps to be less 'glamazon' and more earthy...still pretty, but not all tarted up. N~dles -

noodles1976 replied to ColonelHandsome's topic in Skyrim General Discussion
Completely agree with you there, Blarrgh. While I don't mind seeing skimpy stuff in people's screenshots, I don't really use any of it myself other than for taking the occasional 'cheesecake' pic. When I'm playing the game, my characters are usually wearing something practical that is appropriate for their class/weapon specialty. My archer isn't wearing full plate mail, and my knight isn't running around in a leather thong topless @ ColonelHandsome - If you're willing to use body replacers outside of the usual fair (CBBE, UNP, ADEC, 7B...etc), you might find more things that are lore friendly, form fitting but not skimpy. I know a lot of people have no use for the LB2 replacer or the stand-alone LB3, but I've always been a fan of the less skimpy armors that have been released for those bodies...there aren't a lot of them, but they do exist. Some are even included in the LB2 replacer set...some are converted Witcher 2 sets, or ports of old Oblivion armors (Sinblood's version of the Underworld Sonja armor comes to mind). Unfortunately, the only way to find the stuff you're looking for is to either try and make it yourself from scratch, find multiple sets that have bits and pieces that you like and make a mash-up, or send a request to a modder whose work you like and is willing to make it for you. Hopefully people will be able to point you in the right direction of other mods like Blarrgh and the others mentioned. I would tentatively suggest looking at the LB mods. There may be something there for you, but the down side is that you have to use that body / mod in it's entirety due to master file dependencies and texture mapping on the 3D models. You can't mix and match a LB armor with a UNP or CBBE body...unless you're comfortable with more in-depth conversion stuff...like using Blender or 3DsMax etc. Good luck! N~dles -
Vanilla start or alternate start?
noodles1976 replied to MoonNymph's topic in Skyrim General Discussion
For me, I just go with the regular vanilla start...LAL just never appealed to me for a few reasons. I use too many mods that use the vanilla start as triggers to function, and LAL prevents these from starting correctly (Predator Vision is one that comes to mind). I know there are work-arounds / patches to make these mods work with LAL...but it's not really worth it to me. Yeah, the vanilla start is boring and takes a long time, but you still have to complete the same quests regardless of using LAL or not. It's all subjective...I just prefer to start things off the old, slow and boring way...just like me Generally, I play the MQ right up to fighting the dragon at Kynesgrove...take it out and then just go off and do my own thing until I'm ready to take up the MQ again...usually a couple of hundred hours down the line I usually get to this point of the game in about 4 or 5 hours...not really rushing, TBH...I explore all the caves, mines and what not along the way, and complete a few minor side quests as well. Ducking off at that point seems like the best place to leave the MQ to me. I just like to think that Delphine is off in her basement concocting plans, and it's taking her a long time to do it I've never really felt *rushed* while playing the vanilla start...there are points where completionists (yeah, I'm one of those people too) can stop the MQ and trot off to do other things without feeling like they have to keep playing it. TBH, I've only beat the MQ twice...once before adding any mods (just to see what needed to be fixed IMO) when it was first released and another time with a custom race to test out the Race Compatibility mod & The Ningheim. I'm stuck in the endless cycle of adding mods & making new characters...which I think most of do anyway! N~dles -
Quote from the ENB release page, just for a second source to help clarify: http://enbdev.com/enbseries/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1930 "Mod features: Exterior Lighting/Weathers- Weathers have been given more natural colors and they are also not dependant on imagespaces in the same way as vanilla was.- The weathers have been configured for a better Day/Night detection during Day, Sunset, Night and Sunrise. Middays uses 0% nighttime settings, Midnights uses 0% daytime settings, Sunrises uses ~70% daytime settings and Sunsets uses ~65% of daytime settings.- *Implemented Mindflux's snow FX additions directly into my snow weathers changes.- It also fixes some visual bugs with enb activated such as dark horizons during stormy, rainy, foggy and other dark weathers.- The sunlight have been balanced throughout every weather so there won't be a Storm weather that has brighter sunlight than a Clear weather.- The shadows have been changed to enhance the visual appearance of the SkyLighting effect by using Boris color assignment in his enbweathersample.esp as a template.- Removed as much sky banding as I could, but this will change depending on how you set your sky settings to. Darker sky = possibility of increased sky banding.- Created a new sun.dds texture to go along the new weather changes and to enhance the Sun Rays feature available in ENBSeries. It will have no grain/noise, no banding and will not overexpose most of the sky as the vanilla sun.dds does." I hope that clears it up for you...I was a bit confused by how it was worded on the Nexus, but after I read this at Boris' website, everything became much clearer. Good luck! N~dles

ELE - lite covers everything, I do believe. quote from the ELE lite modpage: 'In the full ELE - Suite I split each lighting change into their own module. With this ELE - Lite Suite there are two options, either "only Interior Lighting" or "Default ELE - Lite". The default version of ELE - Lite has the Interior Lighting module combined with these ELE modules; Spell and Torch Lighting - Changes the lights of the Torch and most spells lights equipped in the hand ELE Plugin - RS Light Color - Alters the Parent Light Bulbs colors to "ELE - standardized" colors ELE Plugin - FX Emittance - Alters the FX Weathers RGB values used to make Light Bulbs and FX effects change it's color based on the time of day. The additional modules are only contained in the main module, ELE_S_Lite.esp.' You could consider using Relighting Skyrim & ELE lite together...just use the ELE Interiors Only plugin, loaded after Relighting Skyrim. N~dles

Depends on what kind of lighting effect you are looking for...and if you're using an ENB preset. I personally like ELFX. I've seen people refer to this as a 'fantasy' lighting mod, but it's always looked more 'realistic' to me. You have to be aware of if any ENB preset you use is compatible with it, as interior spaces may be too bright or too dark if it's not made to work with it. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/27043/? I used RLO for a while, it looks nice and is fairly performance friendly. ENB compatibility is the biggest thing to watch out for. Basically, it takes vanilla lighting and turns the effects up to 11...some very nice visual results. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30450/? As mentioned above, ELE is a great mod as well...does not need an ENB to work, but can help enhance an ENB preset further. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59733/? A good overall mod to use is RCRN AE. It does everything...weather, interiors, exteriors, and adds dynamic lighting. So, light through windows at night will be dimmer than during the day. Since it's an all in one package, it conflicts with all other weather & lighting mods. Sometimes these conflicts are a visual benefit, for example combining RCRN & ELFX is a good thing. I've used this mod for years and never had any complaints other than nearly all current ENB presets don't look good with it 'out of the box'. There's really only one preset I've seen with RCRN compatibility, and that's Vividian. For all the rest of them, if you're willing to make edits to the ENB, this is by far the best option to get a simple 'all in one' mod. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1875/? Those are the four biggest ones that I can think of...and probably the most popular. My current install is ELFX, Organic ENB & Purity...take a look at some of my recent shots in the 'Beauty of Skyrim' thread here on LL to get an idea of what it will look like. N~dles

Fallout 4! In like 4 1/2 months, its real.
noodles1976 replied to Gameplayer's topic in Fallout 4 General Discussion
I get the feeling this is a count down to the launch of a new, dedicated FO4 webpage...development news, screenshots and the like. IIRC they did something similar with Skyrim. I'm assuming that Todd Howard will post some kind of video...probably like this one: >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oxoJJk0vRc N~dles -
This is an oldie, but a goodie... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1356/? and http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57433/?. I always hated the constant "extra glow" on enchanted weapons and armors when you equipped them. These two mods remove that shader effect. Your weapons still display the enchantment effect on the blade or whatever, just not the pesky "extra glow". Just an aesthetic choice. N~dles EDIT: One other great one that I really enjoy using: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/16137/?It's a simple mod that lowers the 'fist' when you have nothing equipped in a hand.
