I'm having trouble with the Forbidden Tome quest, in that I can't seem to start it. I suspect I did this myself by taking the books from the library and placing them in another container (my horse's saddlebag) before speaking to Urag.   When I tried to speak to him, no option appeared. Thinking it was because the books weren't in my inventory, I went back to my horse and got them back, and got a pop-up message saying "An error has occurred with your installaton of Devious Devices. Please check the log for more information. Error text: zaddForbiddenTomeQuest failed to start."   Looking at my papyrus log, the text is: [10/13/2015 - 04:41:20PM] [Zad]: QuestMonitor: OnItemAdded() [10/13/2015 - 04:41:20PM] [Zad]: ShouldStartNewQuest(): TRUE [10/13/2015 - 04:41:20PM] ============================================================ [10/13/2015 - 04:41:20PM] [Zad] (((ERROR))): zaddForbiddenTomeQuest failed to start. [10/13/2015 - 04:41:20PM] ============================================================ I've tried putting them back in the library bookshelf and retrieving them, and disabling the quest from MCM, saving, reloading, re-enabling and reloading, but the error persists.   I've also tried to start the quest from the console using StartQuest zaddForbiddenTomeQuest but checking the status with sqv zaddForbiddenTomeQuest returns ---Quest State:-------- Enabled? No State: Stopped Current Stage: 0 Priority: 0 I'll also point out that I haven't done any Dwemer ruins yet, so it's not that the quest location has already been cleared. Also, if I reload the save I made when I first entered the college and go straight to Urag, the quest works (as it is, I did Sergius' quest first), so it doesn't look like a mod conflict.   Anyone got any ideas on how I can reset/restart this?

  Right, it was definitely borked then, selecting the quest in my journal showed no marker on the map (though I did feel that was a bit cheaty anyway as you can't access the map when in an armbinder, but can open the journal and look at the map that way).   I'm hopeful that it might be sorted now - I'd forgotten that I removed Helpless owing to large amounts of errors. I've now used a save cleaner and got rid of a batch of orphaned scripts (on the pre-quest save), and now my papyrus log is generally only showing XPMSEWeaponStyleScaleEffect errors. Fingers crossed for next time the event fires.  

Is there a way I can see where I'm supposed to return to in the "Little Bondage Adventure"? Mine seems to have bugged out on me. It's also the first time I've encountered this quest (fairly new to the whole DD thing) so I'm not totally familiar with how it should happen.   The quest kicked in for me when I entered Belethor's store (not by talking to him), then I came to on the edge of the map SW of Falkreath. After running back to Belethor's, there were no dialogue options to be had with him relating to this quest. I also tried Arcadia and the market sellers in case the event triggered just prior to entering Belethor's, but no joy there either.   Luckily I have a save shortly before the event happened, but I'd prefer to finish it if possible and not have it bug out again should it trigger again.   Here's the relevant section of the papyrus log - to my untrained eye, it looks bugged to me, with the "Set Quest Giver Alias to" being empty:     with thanks in advance.
