Well, that's the problem. Most of the mecha anime just follows the idea that the MC will always get the better mech as story dictates. Probably something of an influence of past Super Robot anime. I actually quite like the idea of an intelligent anime main character when Code Geass first aired and Aldnoah literally nailed that to the dead center.   Speaking of mech anime, I read in one of the weekly manga magazines I buy that Gargantia's second season got cancelled. Can anyone confirm that?

Finished Gundam 00 and Code Geass long before I got hit with Aldnoah. Guess I'll keep looking.

  Pretty much this. I enjoyed the first few runs of vanilla contents, trying to figure ways to get unstuck when something happens. There's enough of a surprise (like that small shrine somewhat hidden near Riverwood) in the world map for me to keep an eye open. After a few times, then it's modding time to get the frustration in the blood out.

  I just realized it was the series you were referring to when I rethink that you mentioning "Death Parade"... The OVA isn't really long. Just one standard episode. It's actually a competition entry for amateur animation production or something along that line.   Also, I have a request. Is there any mecha anime that runs along the line like Aldnoah Zero where the protagonist wins battles using brain rather than brawn?

  Did you mean the series or the OVA? Watch the OVA if you can. That kickstarted the entire series.   Edit: Almost forgot. Death Parade's Ova is called Death Billiard.

  Got to make some amendments... Well, the script writer seems to be filtering some parts of the LN to be shorter. Example would be Loki's little Ragnarok stunt. That should have been further back if you follow the LN storyline as I just checked the books. Guess they deem that irrelevant to the big picture but that would probably mean they filtered out a lot of Akeno's drama either. As far as the foreshadowing goes, I would say that they're focusing more up to book 7 out of 19 as far as I know existed. Still waiting for my friend's confirmation if 20 is out. Still, the appearance of Sairaorg (that guy who was watching Issei training) makes me wonder if they are putting book 10 into this season. Wouldn't be too bad watching the brawl of the century coming on life in animated glory.

  Not exactly rushed. I have the LN the anime is based on. The story's mostly intact with slight alterations. The LN felt longer because it's harder to express the scene with words alone. Also, it starts getting more serious from this point onwards though some of Issei's antics are pretty much there nonetheless. I'm still awaiting for the episode where Issei went cannibalistic (literally) on the enemy. It's foreshadowed in the OP already so I'm itching to see how they portray his berserk mode.

  Heard it's just a slight change to the smithing interface. Never tried it myself to confirm that.

One question, if anyone is more than willing to answer cause I just thought of this (probably even missed a post explaining this over the 60+ pages before this) but can anyone confirm whether we need to fork out extra money for each upcoming updates or it's a one pay, one mod and all the updates inclusive?

I found this in the comment of the SkyUi page written by someone called seventonblade   "They won't even be able to buy a cheeseburger. All that measly 25% that modders make goes into the modmaker's Steam wallet, and that's on top of their mods being ripped from their ownership, which means Valve can basically issue a DMCA takedown to the Nexus if, say, SkyUI v5.0 were uploaded here at the same time as on the Workshop, even if by schlangster himself. This can only spell absolute doom if the trend continues and grows, and I have no respect for schlangster if he continues to support this system that is both legally and ethically bankrupt."   If this is true, then all those modders just threw themselves right into Hell.

  I wonder if they're trying to get something like "Only Premium Members Can Access The Paid Mods!" kind of stunt... Yeah, you don't just pay them for the purchase of mods. You pay them for the chance to buy these mods too! Two payments for the comfort of Steam? Ugh... my head hurts... a lot. I hope I'm just overthinking.   Also, see what happens over at Dragonpor. And just when I think about saving up some money for a brand new gaming PC. Well, in the piggy bank the money goes.

Considering how many mods I have downloaded and tried from the first day I stepped into modding Skyrim (probably in the thousands if I add in the updates and such, Nexus keeps reminding me that I have over 1,500 unendorsed mods), I would probably be paying the amount of buying the full game's initial market price several times over! I'm buying ONE GAME for God's sake!

Now that I think about it, it's not a fetish for the act of modding a game but rather it's the fetish within ourselves that fueled the modding urges because the outcome of the game modded mirrors the fetish hidden within us. I would imagine most of us would go somewhat like this.   We play a game. Finish it. We complain that it doesn't have enough *insert whatever you think may be lacking in a game (e.g. not enough skin shown)*. Finds the game mod-able. We bust out the mod scalpels and all the mods we can gather (catering to whatever we find lacking...). Finds the rig not powerful enough. We slammed our piggy banks into pieces with a giant hammer and start going for the most expensive hardware we can get our hands on. Repeat from step one...   Luckily for me, I'm stuck with the Vita handheld lately or those will be the things I keep repeating till no end.

A mod that lets the character glides is the one thing I'm looking for.
