A Forsworn Story (updated 01/08/2015)
jxm replied to Delzaron's topic in Downloads - SexLab Framework
Okay, got a question in regards to the Vulkos-Quest, whether its a bug or a "feature" -
Interesting. My Money-Problem is different .. I have about 12000 coins and no clue what to do with them ... I never buy stuff, all I do is repair all the time, and I mostly "live off the land" aka steal everything I can. But really, what should I buy? Thre is NOTHING of interest ... maybe if I eventually find out how to buy/build blank runestones ...
-
I don't want to see: Armour that's just one slot ... I want to mix-match my wastelanders with all kinds of different pieces ... and some variety in that ... nice cowboy-like dusters, leather-jackets a la Mad-Max, scrap-metal-armour etc ... and I want all that somehow being (maybe with perks etc) still viable later ... I friggin hate Power-Armor ... ^^
-
Well ... it's not like the game-designers invented her ,,, Ciri's creator already made her "op", that's the whole point of her in the first place... ^^ I hope that's not a snarky comment?

Every day 12 hours of Skyrim? Really? Ever considered professional help, that doesn't sound too healthy... Witcher in a couple of months will win game of the year/RPG of the year (only contender might be Pillars of eternity, which sadly doesn't have boobies to "sell" it ^^). Then addons will be released...its far from dying, far from fading into history. Also it has done one wonderful thing: Proved that even simple fetch-quests can and should be wrapped in engaging stories - Bioware, Bethesda, both no longer can ignore that for future games of their IPs, as fans will always mention how the Witcher does it better...and thanks for that alone, Geralt! And I love how people are getting at each others throats here...if this is happening discussing a game, no wonder mankind even fights wars about politics and religion...mankind, ... mankind never changes ... here you all, grab some of those!            !

Not done yet, but I had thought myself about this and ... well, the main strength of the game is its story, but once that is done I do not see a good reason to play through it immediately again. Just like I don't read a book or watch a movie a second right after I got through it. The gameplay (like levelling Geralt, combat etc) is not really that diverse to justify an immediate re-run either, at least for me. Geralt is Geralt, you can hardly play him differently. Well, maybe "signs only" or some things, but I consider that more like self-punishment and not really fun. Its not like other RPGs (Skyrim, Dragon Age etc) where you may have the urge to play as a Mage, or Rogue for a different playstyle, or use different companions for different tactis. Witcher lacks those... I mean ... I usually play two hours or so after work, and in Novigrad's Dandelion-Quests it felt often like I listened more to dialogue and stuff, instead of actually "doing" something. Still fun though, but...probably only the first time around. Take that first-time-experience away, and Witcher becomes a bit less great, I am afraid to say... Others may object though, of course

Fallout 4! In like 4 1/2 months, its real.
jxm replied to Gameplayer's topic in Fallout 4 General Discussion
Well, I would totally play a female Witcher in a Witcher 4 however ... ^^ And if that "rumour" or whatever about "male-only"-FO would be true .. nah, how stupid that would be. I mean, haven't seen Max Max Fury Road yet, but, as it seems (or said by some), Furiana is way more interesting and fun than Max himself, so leave the Postapocalypse to bad-ass amazon-tatooed warrior-chicks (... with colored anime hair and gigant eyes and boobies *shudders, but not really in delight*) -
I don't care about the graphics. Modders and perverts however: A girl and a dog...alone..in the post-apocalypse...you know what you have to accomplish...!

Indeed. In some ways Witcher is the anti-thesis to Skyrim, in terms of story. I actually still have hopes that Bioware will someday find the best middleway: An open-world-free-to-roam-game with a hero you can create and form yourself but a storyline that really keeps you going ... guess I'll have to wait a bit for that though. Until then yeah, I treat Witcher mostly as an "interactive" movie/book, and I don't mean this negative. The amount of thrills I hade so far in the story is amazing, and like a good movie or book I'll play it again one day, but surely not right after I finished it... And in regards to "immersion" ... I really fail to see how for example "Skyrim" can be more immersive, with its cities that have like a dozen houses and 20 people living in them (half of them guards...." Skyrim is in terms of immersion the synonym for "suspension of disbelief"... But we could list so much more immersion-killers! Hitpoints for example! Or inventory, hpw many swords can one man possibly carry?! Or why does GEralt never need to shit and piss? And why can he ehal wounds by eating dry fish and rasberry juice!? Seriously, this discussion is pointless, and I wouldn't mind a change of subjet to something more interesting...for example who is Maid Bilberry, and can we actually meet her at some point?
-
I won't make myself friends with the next but ... to some extent I will agree here. While I think that your immersion-complaints are really...not that relevant, I thought to myself about Witcher 3 and its replay-value (for me) What makes me like the game right now is, for the most part, the story(ies). The characters involved, the twists etc. But once I am through with TW3 I don't see myself immediately replaying the game. Just like I would not re-read a book right after the last page. Because stripped of all story-content, what's actually left? In games like Skyrim or Dragon Age I was often playing simultaneously other chars/character-classes and experimented with other party-members. In Witcher, I don't see that. Sure, I could make a Geralt only using signs (though if that is playable in a fun way?... not sure), but ultimately it always is the same Geralt. And I don't think that (could be wrong though...) making a different decision in, let's say the Bloody Baron Quest, is fundamentally changing the game so much a second playthrough is totally different enough to make a for a complete new experience

"That's it, man. Game over, man. Game over, what the fuck are we supposed to now, huh, what are we gonna do???" Probably the funniest thing I read for a long time on the I-Net in a while ... you die, and they show game over ... shit, what where they thinking, that we are playing some kind of game or what, silly polish people... Seriously, if one cannot immersive him/herself into Witcher, the problem doesn't necessarily need to be on CD Red's end ...

I enjoyed the shorts more than the novels, but the book-series at least make Yenn shine in a more positive light, in regards to her motherly love for Ciri, which is nice. After all its really sad that this former hunchback woman scorned by her own family and society, and now is a powerful, self-confident sorceress, has as ehr greatest wish to be a mother, and finds more fulfilling in that than her magic powers... Feminists might however shove the above down my throat (or Sapkowskis?), but I like it anyways...

Though I haven't (yet) tried the new version (I am too lazy and will wait for a version with more content ^^) I am intrigued about what the new "Mansion-Mod" could be like I liked the original version, though I agree that it lacked a bit of background and story. Especially everything comes simply too fast or too "normal". Of course I can hardly predict now what you want to do with the mod, but personally I hope the mod will be also a bit more "realistic", in terms of the whole business. Which means that I still find it a bit odd that there is a Mansion close by where you can fuck animals, and its treated like a normal tavern I'd prefer it too have a bit of an "underground"-flair to it, which also could lead to several quests and conflicts (with the law/governemnt/residents etc). And just keep one thing that makes beastiality such a kink in the first place: the air of the forbidden... So when you write I love being evil (and I believe you, from some of your replies ), I would love to think that the new "Animal Mansion" might be a little less "sunshine and lollipops" ... and a bit more gritty, dirty and taboo

If you know only the games and Triss, Yen really can seem like an intruder of sorts, she really comes out of left-field. At least she is talked about in TW2, while Triss totally ignored mentioning her in TW1... Actually its kinda interesting. Looking back at part one Triss was a lot more manipulative and "demanding" than she was portrayed in the books. In fact she was a lot more like Yenn would have been. That changed, until we currently have a Triss in TW3 that feels a bit more "in-line" with her book-counterpart. A bit unsurer, warmer, friendlier. No wonder, as she longer needs to be the stand-in Yennifer, at least that's how I see it All in all, Yenn is the somewhat more interesting personality, I like how she mocks Geralt etc. Though, I only have recently arrived in Skellige, so I wonder how/if they will delve a bit deeper into their romance, and especially what came before TW3 ... I mean Geralt was amnesiac so long, Yenn was also around somewhere, but all of that didn't seem to interest these two that much atm..

Novigrad is ... indeed the way Bethesda (and Bioware for that matter) have to look at for their future games...I do not really care if any inhabitant has a home, name, daily schedule, and not every house has to be open, I never got why Bethesda tried to aim for that. All I want for immersion is cities like Novigrad, huge, sprawling with life, giving me the illusion of a real city, instead of the nowadays ratehr embarrassing cities like Solitude (capital of Skyrim, with like a dozen people living there...)...Bethesda should up the scale of their worlds for the next releases... Oh, and Novigrad...some fan just HAS to recreate this video with Geralt starring in it ... I guess most people that strolled through Novigrad for some time might know what I mean >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lyu1KKwC74

I roll around like some friggin idiot as well but...I try to use dodge more. Especially after one fight today, Witcher contract against some rather huge and hard-hitting beast, slightly above my lvl 17 Geralt. Confined space of a cave, and each hit broke my Quen and even staggered Geralt. And rolling away didn't really work because you are too far away then, and it's difficult to close the distance quick enoguh to hit the beast. Dodge worked ehre a lot better...you can evade the hits and hit yourself, often in the back for extra damage. But its still risky business. And I only play broken bones (with Death March my sanity would have long gone, and probably I'd still hang around in White Orchard) ... And even with the explanations I got some posts above I still haven't really figured out that whole Stamina/Adrenaline stuff...so all I ever use is Quen, for the rest of the signs I simply do not have any use (though Aard sometimes is nice if, IF it throws an enemy to the ground for an instant-kill), and also no ressources to actually MAKE use of them...

Fistfighting! me (lvl 18) against 3 enemies (lvl12) ... it took me about ten friggin times until I finally beat 'em now ... great if you dodge and Geralt has the bright idea to dodge right into the middle of them, well done Witcher. Yeah, Dice Poker, I muss it too... I played only one game of Gwent by now (during a quest, by accident, I thought I was really buying what I needed with coins). I had (and still have) no clue how it works though. I was just clicking on my cards, placing them somewhere to do..something. And suddenly my enemy passed, I had one card left, and couldn't figure out what to do (was a weather card iirc). Eventually I placed it, and I that way lowered my score below that of my opponent, losing. Yeah, Master Gwent player that was...second round all I remember was something like "your opponent play Nilfgard-something and I instantly lost"...After that...I beat the shit out of that guy and grabbed what I needed from his bloody hands... But enough of these petty problems..real problems await me! Drunk women...usually are as sexy as fecals on a dirty toilet-seat ..uh..or something like that. But tipsy Triss? Geez, that was cute...and I kissed her..and my plan goes to the nearest window, ready to jump out...how can I dispose of Triss now anymore, and have Geralt with his destinied love Yen together, as I planned? Oh Triss, why are you so much lovelier than in the previous games...DAMN YOU *waves fist*

A Forsworn Story (updated 01/08/2015)

I am not shy, but only very careful with my words, because, well, modders are, from my experience, tender flowers, that should be handled with care, and too many people are (sometimes due to the language barrier) coming across awfully rude and demanding... And yeah, can already see the dialogue has improved a great deal. Keep it up, it was (despite the bugs of course) the only major complaint I had with the mod. Though sometimes it was really funny figuring out what Delzaron really meant (no offense mate!) And now let's check out if I can finally do that wolf-pack-quest... -
Hm...in regards to the skill tree some, probably stupid questions: So atm I have about five points in both fast and heavy early skills. And from what I understand I need to drag all those skills to the right of the screen (where I could link them with mutagens) to become used/active? Now first fast attcks (muscle memory) is applied automatically every time I use fast attacks, or is it actually a skill that needs to be activated (I have 30 hours on the game and I am still unsure about such things, indeed), and if I go now on "precise blows", does it stack, does it get replaced, is it worth it...? That's really my little gripe with the game, I have no clue whatsoever where to spend my points, and I never feel much effect of them either (except prolonged potion time, which seems to effect water/milk etc as well, if I am not mistaken...)

A Forsworn Story (updated 01/08/2015)
jxm replied to Delzaron's topic in Downloads - SexLab Framework
Thanks for all the replies! Well, I had some more time today to experiment a bit and yeah, the save was probably "corrupted" with stuff from other mods. I don't have any proof , but I somehow "blame" Maria Eden in this case. Not the mod itself (don't get me anyone wrong here!!), but that it somehow messed up scripts or whatever etc. Script-cleaning the save didn't do much however, but I always keep one save file that does not have any mod loaded etc, and going to that one, Zenoby says "Hi" finally...just have to tweak my char a bit now, and I can finally try the latest version during my Witcher-breaks But speaking of "Hi, I am Zenoby"...ahem, a little carefully asked question. Is there any plan on revamping the dialogue of the mod at some point. I know, I (and some others) brought it up before, but I still think this extensive (and pretty great) mod would profit greatly from some enhanced dialogue/text etc ... -
Nah, I play "Broken Bones", so no regeneration (which is mostly annyoing though with the constant fumbling in the inventory to eat and drink, they could make that maybe more convieninet to in the future). And I die a lot, or at least I did in the beginning. The only real problem I have is really managing adrenaline. I never seem to have enough, and I hardly use it for anything else than Quen...I am lvl 16 now, and I don't really feel I have accomplished much in terms of Character-skills...and lvl 16 seems to be almost halfway through to the max level... Ah anyway, something else...how do you define your choice of weapon/armour etc...pure damage-rating as most important? Or special stats (freeze, burning etc, never seems to do much) ... and rather light/medium/heavy? I am so undecided I go medium (mostly griffin set) for now, and I somehow tend to judge my gear mostly for its price (to determine whether or not its "better" than my previous stuff etc... Oh, and after about 30 hours or so I should probably visit the Skellige Islands by now...damn, only the (sadly slightly boring/dragging-on) quest about Dandelion I still didn't finish. Bloody Baron really hooked me, but this one, it has its moments, I mentioned some, but...overall I wish it would not take so long...Bah, whatever, at least Radovid I will probably not give what he wants from me, though it'll probably bite my arse later on, but I don't care.. Radovid, ruler of cuckoo-wacky-wacky-land...

Hm, probably some problem on my end for sure but maybe someone knows a reason for this: I can't initiate any dialogue with Zenoby anymore, using the latest version? I had no problems with that in some of the prior versions (1.6 and so on). And before I start to deactivate or (gods jelp me...) totally reinstall Skyrim, maybe someone has an idea what may cause such things? From the deeps, for example, worked just fine...
