As someone with a broad range of music tastes, japanese included - BABYMETAL is a fad.    It's an interesting fad though, as it blurs genres and boundaries in music and I can see this genre becoming a mainstream norm in japanese music. I'm not a fan but I can see why some are. And elitist music snobs are right in their own way too, it has been done before in most other countries, with the lolita thing wearing pretty thin now. 

On the Basis of the OP - As a male I actually hate and feel disgusted by the male stereotype of 'bigger muscles and massive muscles is sexy'. I don't feel as though I want big muscles, or a six pack.    I used to be fat, lost most of my weight- same ol' story. Instead of trying to work out and be muscular, I ended up going for a skinny route. I have tone, and I find that more appealing than bulging biceps. I work out like the average woman, trying to tone my slender body instead of trying to build muscle.    Trust, I think fat is repulsive too, I know first hand how it feels to be treated as a fat guy - I know how other people feel having to look at massive bellies and arse-cracks popping out of their trousers. It's horrible, but I think massive six-packs and huge muscles are as well. 

It might be unimaginitive, but dubstep is a well established part of music now. It makes its way into the charts frequently and 'dance' tracks constantly make the top 10.    I hate it too, but it's not going away. I'd rather these idiots play without music though, makes the viewing easier. 

  Sounds awesome. I'm a big folk fan like you, I could really appreciate that on a gaming channel or twitch. 

I'd love to make a gaming channel and have some folk metal in the background. Yeah..

  It's politics. Even politicians do this. Republicans with their "MOAR GUNS!! MOAR JESUS!!" nonsense have started spouting more shit about gun control due to the fact that there are so many massacres in the US, schools and public places etc.    I'm not even an american. Guns are just a bad idea. Sure; the right is in the constitution, but slavery was as well.

Yesterday, I was hired for a massive commission that will pay me loads of money. Seriously, it's like a months pay for me normally. 

  I blame both religion and politics.    Religion is an outdated relic and whilst we have it, we will never realistically become a space-faring race. Churches don't pay taxes which is millions a year our governments lose for vital projects. People can blindly say god and people won't blink an eye but if you believe in evolution then you have to defend yourself.   Oh and the global warming? Apparently all of these campaigns are doing some good; recent research has shown the ozone has regenerated slightly in recent years with our control laws on pollution etc.    Politics are pushing our lands apart. We won't evolve as a race until we get rid of the shackles of country and race and become a united planet. Bigotry is getting worse in the last few years with islam growing exponentially in europe and the US. Muslims come to our countries and demand we live by their ways, instead of becoming part of our society like most people would. People using 'halal' meat to please the muslims is one such gripe. In turn, we become defensive and downright racist. I'm not defending them, they too are racists for saying we live incorrectly when they are the ones supposed to assimilate into our ways.

  I hate smoking for that reason. People are entitled to put what they like in their lungs, but it's annoying when you're playing a video game with someone and they need a smoke every 30 minutes or so.    On topic, I lost a piece of work that I just worked for about 3 hours on. Balls.

  Well they're not wrong; but I know what you mean. Manga are graphic novels, not simple comics.    My rant is related. I hate 'cartoon' as a reference to animation. Because cartoons are not animations, they are illustrations intended for satire, humour or caricature. It is a complete perversion of the word. Someone who writes or draws cartoons is a cartoonist and someone who animates is an animator. Just annoys me.

My bad thoughts are in the rant thread, so i'll say something good.    I was recently asked to come and speak at my old school about how education is important to being successful and about jobs and such. I don't believe that for an instant, so i'm going to tell them the truth - if you work hard enough you can do pretty much anything you like, unless you want to be a lawyer... you need education for that.    It's positive because although I got a decent education, it had no part in getting me a job. I started my own business and I work as a freelance Graphic designer. My A* in Maths had nothing to do with that. I worked hard to start myself up and took on some pretty shitty commissions to get here. That's what i'm going to tell those yobs, because education is important but it's nothing without willpower.    Oh and if you're unemployed and getting irritated about the government not 'giving you enough help' then it's your own fault that you're unemployed. I was unemployed for 2 years solid a long time ago, but I started my own job after realising that they weren't going to give me any help. The best part? My jobcentre advisor laughed in my face when I said I was going to go freelance. I make more money than they ever could in their job; I looked it up, they'd have to be area manager and I'd still make slightly more. 

Why play it with a controller anyway? Keyboard and mouse makes for a much better experience?    But, agreed. Oblivion is an old game now, it didn't have controller support like new games do. 

  Exactly how I feel about christmas. I've always been an atheist, but it irritates me more than happy christians is the happy christians that say they love celebrating the birth of Jesus. Do they not realise the Catholic church created christmas and put it at the end of the year because it conveniently landed near the winter solstice and Yule? If they realised it, they wouldn't celebrate it because then they'd know it was just a made up holiday to convert Pagans. Closed minded imbeciles. 

Spent the Christmas with the children, it was nice I suppose; felt a bit lonely if I'm honest. Especially in the evenings when they're in bed, sitting there by myself. The Ex used to sit there with me, we didn't say much and there was no closeness; but I wasn't alone. Feels worse on christmas.    Boxing Day was just as boring really. Saw my mother and father, as you do. Spent yesterday with this woman I've been seeing. We've done a couple of things by now, but it just makes me feel pretty uncomfortable. It's just been a long time since i've been there really. 

  I've spent most of my adult life doing this exact same thing.    I hate one person so much that I've pushed myself to prove him wrong. He was the leader of the bullies that tormented me for so long. He did things to me i'll never forget. One day, I want to knock on his door and say "Here I am, i've done a whole fucking lot better than you ever did".   I respect and admire another so much that I've driven myself to impress him. He's not a close friend, but i've always admired him in school. He drew and painted fantastic works of art, he was eccentric and strange and never cared and always dared to be different. He was like an idol to me. He comes and go from where I live but I never manage to see him or catch him. Even when I was low, he said inspiration things that never fit his appearance or persona, like a secret, closet philosopher.     On a different note, i'm annoyed about people that judge you negatively without knowing your circumstances. Just mind your own damn business!

I live in the south east of England. We get like a maximum of about 2 or 3 days of snow a year, we've not had a single flake of snow this year where I live yet. If we get any snow, even an inch, it disrupts everything. They put out gritting lorries for any snowfall at lightning speed. We get queuing on motorways and they shut off lanes, Because of an inch of SNOW!!    Last year it snowed, people started panic buying. I was in a Sainsburys when it was snowing and some lady genuinely said the words "I'm stocking up on Ironing water in case I get snowed in". I was still snickering to myself when I got home.
