  1. Right.  As I said, that makes sense.

    I'm probably still going to screw this up.  I basically want to merge STEP into something more manageable - trying to organize it with mod categories ran into serious problems - without losing the intended priority order.   That way, I can turn it (or aspects thereof) on or off without having to go through over 200 entries and manually tick and compare to lists every time.  I realize this ruins the ability to do updates with a single click, but I'm saving the original downloads as well so I can rebuild just the parts that are updated later if I want to.

    Just make a profile labeled "STEP profile"

    Then add the mods you want, and deactivate the ones you don't want.

    It's easier, more manageable, and once set up is just a single click to swap between the two.

  2. We're assuming that they're both listed in a downward direction like is MO's default.

    That means mods in the left pane are installed in the order that they take priority.
    In the OP's case, that would be: Mod A, then Mod B, then Mod C. And the .esp files being activated in the same order.

    In the scenario that he has set up, Mod C will always take priority with the others being redundant.

    EDIT: Even if the esp files for mods B and C were deactivated, but not the mod in the left pane, the textures from Mod C would be used. This is because they have the same textures and pathing.

    Similarly, if mods B and C were deactivated in the left pane, but all were left active in the right... the textures for Mod A would be used, since all 3 plugins call for them. But again, Mod C would take priority because it's closest to the end of the load order (Or furthest away from Skyrim.esm, if you will).

  3. It would be the mod on the bottom, if you have them listed by priority, with the numbers descending.

    If you notice, next to some mods there is a lightning bolt. Sometimes there's a plus sign, sometimes there's a minus sign, some times there's both, and sometime's it's greyed out.

    If Mod A, Mod B, and Mod C all share the same texture pathing and they're ordered:
    A

    B

    C

    In the left pane, mods A and B will have a greyed out lightning bolt, meaning they are redundant.

  4. The one lowest in the load order. ie: the one FURTHEST away from Skyrim.esm in the load order will take priority. In the case of how you've listed it, it would be Mod C.

    To clarify, this isn't about MO behavior. This is about the Skyrim Engine's behavior.

  5. Delete the FNIS mod that you previously made (the one you made from the files in the overwrite mod after running FNIS for the first time. NOT FNIS itself. You still need FNIS).

    After that, run FNIS again. Right click on overwrite mod, and create a new file named "Generated FNIS"

    This should solve your problem.

  6. Ana you have been incredibly patient with me and there is no fault with you or your guide.

    its me. i just am not good at technical stuff and no matter how simple someone tries to make it look install and using MO, they naturally will have jargon and technical stuff that i really dont trust i understand. half the time i am reading things and saying 'eh?? what does that mean...do what with what? and what do those abbreviations mean?....and where is that?!..is this it?,,,oh no whoops thats not it...damn!"

    I really havent got a clue so thankyou so so much.

    i will however use the MODS you suggested like the weather mods and all of them as i was impressed with how my game looked, even for the 5 minutes it ran before crashing bugging all over the place..lmao!!

    The only problem with using my mod setup via NMM is that there are going to be places (Specifically phase 6) where NOT overwriting specific files is CRUCIAL to how your characters look.

    Unless you're familiar with how mods are structured, and know what names of files to look for... the phase 6 portion could end up being MUCH more complicated than it needs to be. (Phase 6 is why I switched to MO in the first place).

    I just ... don't understand why you would swap. You have MOST of the work done. All you have to do now is work the kinks out.

    I warned you in our PM's that there would be some kinks to work out, there always are.

  7. Between this and other topics I can offer some advice.

    1) Reinstall Skyrim to a clean state.

    2) Kill your MO installation then reinstall it clean for a whole new start (and ONLY add mods through MO from this point forward).

    3) Watch these videos (and the rest their series).

    >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxnU8DIsfjY

    >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4ZQpzf_iAE

    4) Take what you've learned and start putting your mods back into the game.

    You can preserve your game saves, too. They'll be either in documents/my games/Skyrim or in Mod Organizer/profiles/saves. You may be able to save the mod archives you've got as well so you don't have to download them all again.

    You'll need to do it this way. You've broken the game for real. Broken. There's no quick, easy way out at this point. But do this and learn what you need from the videos and you'll have a good running game that will NEVER need to be reinstalled again.

    I've been offering her some support in PM's.

    There's no need to nuke her Skyrim and MO files. There's just no need.

    I'm thinking that just some crucial steps have been neglected to be ran. Specifically phase 9 of my guide.

  8. [Papyrus]

    fUpdateBudgetMS=2.0

    fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=2.0

    fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0

    iMinMemoryPageSize=128

    iMaxMemoryPageSize=512

    iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=76800

    bEnableLogging=0

    bEnableTrace=0

    bLoadDebugInformation=0

    bEnableProfiling=0

    Open the ini editor in Mod Organizer (The Puzzle Pieces), scroll down in skyrim.ini until you find this set of settings. Set them exactly like this. See if it helps.

  9. i've got a question for the start of the last phase:

    Right after character creation i type in "coc whiterun" and get put on the whiterun bridge as planned. But then the game starts working at about half a frame per second, so i guessed at the time that it's just loading all the new textures so i wait. But after about a minute or so of waiting i see a loading screen and get sent back to the starting dungeon... What's up with that?

    This could potentially be a load order, or mod priority order issue. No way of knowing. Post in the Tech Support forums with that information, and someone (my self, even) may be able to help answer this.

    Hi. I'm back. Picture for what Optimizer Textures should look like? Please...

    Skip this step for now. This weekend I'm adding a section on DDS/BSAopt, to optimize textures. Instead of using Ordenador.

  10. Thx :)

    An other question, in STEP 5, how install Optimizer Textures ?

    You said like a normal mod but when i try to instal it with MO, there is no DATA in to set as directory ?

    Yep. You just ignore when it asks, then when installation is completed, you right click the mod, and select "Ignore Missing Data"

    I wouldn't go too far on this, though.

    I'm working on getting that portion removed, and putting in a portion on DDS/BSAopt, insead.

  11. Ok, that sounds really helpful. Been using NMM since that's what I first found when I began my modding, but I think I might switch over if MO has something like that. Thanks for the help!

    If you want a good place to start to learn? Check out my Skyrim (Or any) of my guides. I use MO, and utilize almost EVERY function it has to offer through the processes of using my guides. (My Morroblivion guide probably uses more of it's features than anything, though)

  12. Don't use TBBP animations and HDT TOGETHER. You don't need an artificial movement for an object that reacts to gravity. That's like giving bombs an engine to fall faster.

    Check out my guide. I do it. It works flawlessly. The key is the install order.

    HDT PE, then TBBP animations, then skeleton, then HDT capable body mesh.

  13. have you tried Oblivion Reloaded alongside SweetFX?

    Oblivion Reloaded is awesome. I may change to this for my guide, instead of ENB, actually. I tried it out for a few days, and I really like it.

  14. It's not a load order problem. It's a mod install order problem. You have to install them in a specific order (or in Mod Organizer, have them arranged in a specific order), or else the Skeleton from XPMSE will be overwritten, and you'll get the problem you're having.
