That sounds like you've got either alot of mods installed for whiterun which can be too much or there are conflicting mods. -

You can't load those saves because they CTD when loading or are they corrupt? If they CTD, which i had multiple times. What i did was: Load a save that works. Then load the one that didnt work (which then magically made it work for me). i always make a "safe" save once in a while from a scriptless interior space to load before i load the one i want to play. EDIT: and disable skyrims autosave feature, it gave me all kinds of problems
