Just had my roughly yearly reconnect with an old college friend.  Life's been a bit rough on her recently, so I got to tell her how awesome she is, and how much she means to me, and flirt with her from 1000 miles out, just for old times sake.  That felt good.

I collect plastic military models, mostly aircraft and ships.  Needless to say, non of them get built, and they are unassembled (in some cases partially assembled), in boxes, collecting dust.  All my paints are long gone so far as useability and I'd have to buy a whole new paint collection if I ever wanted to start again.  At least a hundred dollars - that I don't feel like spending on paint - just to get usable paint... and then with no experience in creating reasonable looking paint jobs, it'd just be a waste, I feel.   A note on 'collectables'.  Many of the things that are pushed as "collector items", to be sold at a profit down the road, end up getting nothing or next to nothing, because those who were interested in them also bought them, and then when it's time to "sell at a profit", everyone who wants them has them, and there's no market to get rid of them on, never mind a market to make money on.

  And I'm sure the tobacco industry makes a shed tonne more than the firearms industry.   And I'm doubly sure that both have long since paid off every congressman and anyone else in government that matters.   Anyway, funny cat pictures:         And, of course, aascrebnbu,opp]

For once, after a nice visit with old friends I see very rarely and a consequent front row seat to the town's fireworks, I decided to take a walk on the town after the friends left.  I walked to one end, and right back, having been quickly reminded of how stupid people are, and why it is that I don't go out on the town much.   This was, of course, after having worked all day so that someone else (the public) could have the day off, as usual.

Vodka and other clear liquids work excellently in water bottles.  So long as they don't get closely inspected.  Either way, your best bet is to get rid of the original containers, as that's too obvious.  Just make sure you know which alcohol is which, assuming that's all that important to you.  Do bring some water as well, as alcohol dehydrates you.

Unfortunately, abandonment happens all too often.  The usual "Why are you getting rid of your pet"  Oh it's too old now, not fun anymore.  Got any youngins?  "NO.  Now  get out. (Fuckers)"   I see that Milo is the popular boys name.  It's popular, for sure.  And in my humble opinion, unoriginal.  I've seen a number of them.

  Gotta disagree with "they're smarter".  Studies indicate that cats are around a 3 year old human's mentally while dogs are around 5 or 6.  Some dogs, of course.  We aren't talking ankle biters here.    When was the last time you saw a seeing eye cat?   Still, I too prefer the dignified "Hi, you're home" presence of a cat to the slackjawed slobbering of a dog.  I've made sure the dogs no longer meet me at the door, while the cat does.  He knows who's loved around here (even if he does fiddle with the video cable for my monitor.  Damn cat!).  Of course, the dogs aren't mine, either, so...

  Ah, yes.  Pay far more attention to where the content came from than the content itself...   (As it so happens, I didn't get it from "Buzzfeed" (whatever that is), but a secondary source.) So NEH!   Just who decided you needed a reason, even a specific day, to hug your cat, anyway?!

I've noticed that I sometimes get half an idea out, thinking I got the whole idea.  This is after it's posted, and there are responses, and things have taken the normal twist and turn of forum threads, so it's rather difficult to clarify.  Usually, I don't bother.  No real reason to when it's a bunch of people I don't know and will never meet.  What're they going to do?  Send my account to Oblivion?  Worst case, I guess, and nothing really lost, though I would miss the place.  There are other times, when I actually not only see, but agree with multiple sides of a particular issue to varying degrees.  Then it gets really difficult.

I find it useful to write them down if I remember them at all, which is very, very rarely anymore.  And no, I definitely don't get enough sleep lately, especially when talking with an old friend until 4:30 in the morning when I have to be up at 8.  Darn her!
