Oh, right... I had them compiled for 1.59 for some reason, but I can't find where I downloaded the files from.
-
Ok, since you have the file, I'm removing it from the post just in case.
-
I actually meant these, I assumed they're holtof55's anyway. http://www.loverslab.com/topic/32425-sexlab-animation-index/
-
Any chance we'll get Holtof's animations in this mod?
-
You do realize these games were on GOG, too, right?
-
I take it the attached camera on NPCs function has been scrapped on 2.0? Cause I can't find it anywhere. Not a big deal, just asking.
-
I have it in its own folder on another hdd, it'd be weird if it was that... I mean it SEEMS to work normally otherwise, but it displays that error prompt on startup.
-
Is anyone getting a "failed to initialize plugin" and sth about installerBCF.py at MO startup? I saw the 1.3.4 notes that state that vc100 runtime needs to be installed for the external installer, but it seems to be (at least it appears in the Add/remove programs list).

Well, the Nexus guy mentions in his new blog post that at least one (?) modder is talking with Bethesda to allow Patreon. That's nice, provided they allow it.
-
I actually think Nick was worse than Dark0ne in the video. Anyone who didn't want Valve paid mods is apparently a terrorist or an entitled 12yr old. Also, if you don't endorse, we don't care about your opinion, there's a hierarchy of self importance to be observed. All that was good to know. Also, TB couldn't really do much about all that.

Hate? No. Meh? Yeah. I'm still waiting for the day when Daggerfall will rise again.

Well, true, but you'd then mod cost comes into play. You COULD try crowdfunding a serious mod attempt though(?) for projects like Falskaar or other big undertaking, ie let's say expired wants to do some grand project of his own. expired is a well known modder, creating racemenu among other things so he already has a level of trust that may appeal to people. He could create this business plan or project plan, make an coding attempt at it, then create a crowdfunding project through Kickstarter or some other site like that and raise awareness for the project. I'm sure people like expire or at least trust him enough to consider the project, and if it seems like a good idea and there is a market for it, it could be successfully crowdfunded. That could work for any other well known modder that is competent and liked enough. Opportunities for developing are already there. But of course, it's easier trying to sell a sword for 5 bucks.

I'm confident the vast majority of modders thought that way

A little warning to mod creators of non adult mods....

That video is just disappointing. He answers most valid point with "I don't care, not my problem". For someone like Gopher who gets huge support from the established community in Patreon, that's an all new low. -

Some people were actually complaining how a joke mod is Top 1. And here I thought pro-paidmods zombies in the Steam forum were already bad enough. Faith in human intelligence down the drain again. -

That sounded rather naughty, you realize that, right? :PPPP -

Give this guy cookies. The drones back in the Steam forum just don't seem to get that this is one of the real issues with paid mods. -

The Community part is down at least. I wonder why... -

I'd love to see modders with script-heavy mods trying to support them when games start breaking down. That'd be fun. Currently you/they can say "whatever, it's free". With money though, no, I expect a functional product that will NOT corrupt my saves. Not to mention mod incompatibilities, that'd be fun to watch. -

" You are only permitted to distribute the New Materials, without charge (i.e., on a strictly non-commercial basis) (except as set forth in Section 5 below), to other authorized users who have purchased the Product, solely for use with such users’ own authorized copies of such Product and in accordance with and subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement and all applicable laws. If You distribute or otherwise make available New Materials, You automatically grant to Bethesda Softworks the irrevocable, perpetual, royalty free, sublicensable right and license under all applicable copyrights and intellectual property rights laws to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, perform, display, distribute and otherwise exploit and/or dispose of the New Materials (or any part of the New Materials) in any way Bethesda Softworks, or its respective designee(s), sees fit. You also waive and agree never to assert against Bethesda Softworks or its affiliates, distributors or licensors any moral rights or similar rights, however designated, that You may have in or to any of the New Materials." There are many ways to read this, most of them aren't really good. What's an "authorized copy" can change in their next game at least to exclude freelance mods. Also, the moment you release the mod, you give Bethsoft and its affiliates the right to do ANYTHING with your material and you can't deny them that right. You can make your mod disappear from the face of the planet and Bethsoft could STILL use it as their own according to this license, if it's made through the toolkit. -

And then, there were Sims mods. That went well.... You don't seem to realize that 1) If money is involved, Bethsoft can exercise their legal rights as license owner of both the game and the toolkit to take down any mod that uses their assets or is made with their toolkit unless it's on the workshop. They can pull the plug on anything. 2) A great many mods are a collaboration effort. Who's going to get paid? If asset licenses start getting revoked because the other modders are dissatisfied with their cut or just don't want a part in this, many mods will fall apart. Help and assets were mostly freely given because the mods themselves were freely given. 2b) On that, based on Chesko's example, once a mod goes in Valve as a paid mod, it stays in Valve. And if someone has way too many objections about that, see 1. 3) Some mods are too popular. If SkyUI decides to drop the free version one day and stick to paid only, any mod with MCM will get screwed. There will be mods made with the newer versions, probably also behind a paywall, and mods that will be getting outdated. 4) Valve can't curate the mods (damn, they can't even curate their store). There are already modders hiding their mods because of fear that they'll be stolen and uploaded to the workshop as paid mods. It can easily be a thing on Steam at its current state. 5) DLC game fragmentation was bad enough, if a mod micro-transaction becomes the norm and gets implemented into other games, take a wild guess at what's going to happen. Gabe's admitted thatn even WITH the shistorm, the skyrim workshop yielded 10k, which of course he dismissed as being way too little to label Valve as greedy (failing to mention how much Valve WILL make when the paid workshop goes Steam-wide). Not sure why people fail to see the big picture. You need to stop looking at your finger. -

True. He says 10k is hardly anything for Valve. But that's 10k WITH the outrage and without it being extended to other games. He thinks we're idiots apparently. Well, he's not terribly wrong, I mean, you tell people not to preorder, not to buy Early Access, not to buy crappy DLC, to support DRM-free, they still do whatever. So yeah, eventually he can only gain. -
