  1. What is your favourite perk overhaul?

I tried Ordinator but found I had a love/hate feeling about it. Some of the changes were great. But there were other things I simply hated.   The armor trees don't branch, the marksman tree's branching seems kind of odd (not seeing the specialization), and the one-handed tree's specialization was kinda weird (sword specialization feels like it just encourages you to stick to a certain attack pattern to get damage bonus). Damage also seemed to have been nerfed a lot in comparision to vanilla (dagger sneak attacks were nerfed big time). I also didn't like how perks for certain setups had conditionals that were very situational (only 3 dagger perks in one-handed tree and they're all situational--to the point where 2/3 of them don't help at all if you go for stealth).   I guess my gripe is it feels like there's a lot of potential, but it's either not fully utilized, the perk trees are structured awkardly, or certain archetype's perks feel very situational. I really would've liked to see more specialization, perks that were more awesome in terms of benefits (considering the trees are absolute sinks), and less common path perks that were only useful in specific situations.   The non-combat perks definitely sounded interesting from the descriptions, but I mainly go for combat and I found some great changes, but also a lot of things that I just found very annoying or arbitrary. I ended up going back to SPERG.
  2. Attempting this again. I solved the first problem by first copying all NPC records as overrides into a new esp and running the script.   The problem I'm having now is removing the unnecessary records. Removing grayed out records is easy via the "Remove ITM" cleaning feature.   HOWEVER, the next part is what I can't figure out. I need to be able to identify records that are identical between my ESP and the next lowest ESP that touches the record. In other words, this is finding the records in my ESP that are merely carrying over the USKP changes.   However, the filters seem to look across all ESPs at once so I haven't had much luck with this comparison. Anyone well versed in TES5Edit that can see a way to do this? Or if there's a way for the filter to only compare on certain fields (e.g. NPC flags), that would help too as that'd make a manual solution more doable.     Short version of problem: I copied the NPC records from the ESMs and unofficial patches into a new ESP and ran a script to modify NPC flags on certain records. Now I have a bunch of ITM records, but b/c there are multiple masters many of them are not being detected as ITM dirty edits (e.g. USKP makes an edit, and my ESP simply carries that edit forward unchanged but b/c it's different from Skyrim.esm, it's not being detected as an ITM).   If there's a way to limit the filter comparison to the NPC ACBS flags, I would then be able to have a list that should be short enough to manually parse through.
  3. I don't think I've ever seen any boot pack mod with sensible boots. By that I mean low-heel boots that actually make sense for running and fighting in.   Do any such packs exist that I've overlooked?   I'm thinking of something along the lines of the vanilla vampire boots: http://www.uesp.net/w/images/6/61/SR-icon-armor-Vampire_Boots.png
  4.   Thanks, awesome first post!   I didn't know about that script. Updated TES5Edit to get the new script and it's exactly what I was looking for.
  5. I was thinking of using TES5Edit to make a mod to make all essential NPCs killable (in preparation for USLEEP replacing USKP and making all such existing mods incompatible).   However, when I checked a list of essential NPCs (see this list)  in TES5Edit, I see inconsistency. Some essential NPCs don't have an essential flag (e.g. Aela, Balgruruf, Danica Purespring) while others do (e.g. Falk Firebeard, Dengeir)   Anyone understand what is going on and why this is?
  6. OP: I'm not sure I totally understand your grammar but if you're experiencing a message saying you're armed when you're not, there is one known issue relating to that.   Do you use SPERG? If so, you need to set the unarmed option to disabled or manual.
  7. Monster Hunter Frontier!

When I first saw your post I thought "what's this have to do with Skyrim?"   Based on the meshes and lighting, I don't think that's Skyrim.
  8. Unlevel Skyrim

For the longest time, I've used ERSO 09 to unlevel Skyrim.   Are there any other good options out there (EXCLUDING Requiem) that you guys use?
  9.   I'm not looking to copy every record, and I'm not modifying records manually either.   What I'm doing is using an automation script on the NPC records in the ESMs and USKPs to make flag changes. I'm looking for an automated way (or at least a smart way) to copy those changes into a new plugin.   I thought maybe I could use a filter to look for overrides, but the UKSP records are all overrides so that doesn't help.
  10. Is there a way to have TES5Edit throw all my new edits into a new plugin?   I'd like to use a flag changer script to remove the essential flags from the ESMs and unofficial patches and throw them into a new plugin.
  11. Is there a viable alternative to ERSO 09? I don't think I've ever seen an alternative that works.   ERSO 09 makes all essential NPCs non-essential/protected instead. ERSO is no longer maintained so when USKP becomes USLEEP, I will need to replace it.     I thought about using TES5Edit's Automation tools's flagchange script (in the forum posting), but I don't think it's advanced enough to enable the protected flag when the essential flag is on.
  12. Bathing in Skyrim

Should this also be washing off blood from Enhanced Blood Textures? B/c it doesn't seem to be for me when I tested.   Obviously you cannot test this if you're character is fully geared up since the unequipping of armor before bathing will automatically remove the blood. But when I tested with less than full gear (e.g. no top, or no gloves), the blood didn't get washed off
  13. Mod Organizer

Oops, by one line I meant this:   [section] One line
  14. CTD on specific exterior cell

Thought I'd give a try with turning off all mods for a cleaner log, but when I do that I can't even load the save.   I can load my first save (the one we all keep so we can do subsequent loads), but the saves shortly after that don't load. I tried turning on a bunch of mods that seemed essential too, but it still didn't work.
  15. I'm having a CTD on a very specific exterior cell--it's the one around White River Watch.   I went through and cleared the interior of the White River Watch cavern, exited out the top side, and killed bandit chief boss. Then I went back into the cavern, slept a bit, and then exited back out the entrance... or at least I tried. I CTD every time.   I tried all sorts of different things and I've determined it's the exterior cell around that area that is causing the issue. If I try to exit back out the top (where the boss was), CTD. And exiting out the entrance also CTDs. If I wait 10+ days inside the cavern and then exit, CTD. If I COC into the Bannered Mare and then try to return to the exterior cell where White River Watch is located, I CTD. Doesn't matter if it's by horse of fast travel. And it's definitely the cell since it CTDs before I can even get close to White River Watch (I CTD on the nearby main road). I can't just avoid that cell either since one of the main roads going east passes through that cell.     Any ideas what causes CTDs on specific exterior cells? Any experience fixing these things? Or any reliable idea on the causes? (if I'm restarting a new game, I want to know how to avoid causing this again).   I've occasionally had this happen in the past, but I figured that was due to me upgrading mods and the like. This time though, it's a fairly new game (<6 hours in), so I haven't messed it up yet with mod upgrades mid-game yet.     Edit: I have all memory patches (SKSE memory patch, ENB memory address, stable uGrids to load for fixing iterative loading bug). I haven't modified uGrids, or done any other instability inducing things. Memory block logs look fine and papyrus logs don't suggest anything (though they normally don't for CTDs). Let's skip past the standard stability advice.   Something is triggering these type of CTDs, as I can enter the cells just fine, but once I go into the associated caves/caverns in the area and come back out later, issues occur. In this case, it's White River Watch, but I've seen it occur near the Morthal vampire hideout too in other playthroughs.
  16. Mod Organizer

I found a STEP page with a side blurb on INI tweaks, along with other videos talking about ini tweaks, but none of them directly addressed whether the entire section needed to be used or just individual lines.   I'm guessing it worked out for you with individual lines though?
  17. Mod Organizer

Was this ever answered? I checked a few pages after and didn't see a direct response to it. I am also curious about the nuances behind the INI Tweak feature of MO.   Can single lines within a section be used? Or does the whole section need to be pasted (hopefully single lines are fine).   And my understanding is it works across all ini files. I guess all the ini file sections are normally merged?
  18. USKP 2.1.3 is the last version before they go to a legendary edition of the unofficial patches (called USLEEP). This will require that any mos that use USKP as a master file to be updated for USLEEP.   I've used ERSO 09 NPC Overhaul to make NPCs non-essential (and protected instead). However, ERSO is no longer supported by the developers, and I don't think I've seen any other mods that (1) do something similar and (2) are up-to-date.   Does anyone know of anything more up-to-date? I'm also hoping to move away from ERSO 09 since it's no longer even synched w/ the USKP patches and likely undoes the certain fixes in the UKSPs.
  19. CTD on specific exterior cell

I have all those things, and more. This also is not a populated area--you can check the UESP Skyrim map around White River Watch if you're not sure what area I'm referring to.   I know you mean well, but let's skip past the standard troubleshooting stability advice. I'm fairly experienced using Skyrim mods and have already done the stability setups. My memory block logs look fine (e.g. Block 1: 205 out of 512; Block 2: 127 out of 256). The papyrus logs also don't show anything that stands out, though that is often the case with CTDs.
  20. Bathing in Skyrim

The wash rag feature is nice. Doesn't require soap (trade off is it cleans only to 20%).
  21. SOS - Schlongs of Skyrim

I meant the positioning. Even if the animations are the same, if the model is attached at a slightly different point or angled differently, things might line up.   But I take it the answer remains the same? Alignment is no different between Light vs. Regular?
  22. Is this a good community?

Thanks for the clarification on that thread.   For my first example, I think that one really was deleted though, as the posts in my notification area linked to dead pages. And even my own post did not show up when searching my profile.
  23. SkyUI just updated

That only allows adding the Material column and sorting by it.   That's different from filtering on the Material column. The filter only works on the Name column.
