If English isn't your first language, maybe say that instead of "Thanks for the English lesson." As given the previous back and forth, that statement could be taken as passive-aggression in context, instead of your possible sincere apology.

I love characters like this. She's hardened yo, and got the body and face to prove it. Skyrim ain't friendly out there and she looks like she handles it. I'm also biased cause of the muscle, too. I think the dryness of the skin textures fit well, the scaring on her face, and the short hair similar in color to her body was a nice and fitting choice. The glow and gaze of her eyes wraps her whole demeanor up just right. The body tattoos on her I think take away from her, though, and I'd personally would do without them.

@asenasen: so I took your criticism to heart and made some slight adjustments. I think she came out better than ever: side note, I always felt she had a brooding look(which is what I like on my characters, probably because brooding is the same look I have on my own face).
-
Hmm, you're right. I'll make some adjustments and post up later.

I don't want to let this thread die, as I'm not delighted on the alternative one. @ao2thend: remember when you said something about Jann's nose in your critique about a week ago? Well, I had smoothed the nose as best as I could at the time, but I never shared any image updates(sorry about that). So, here they are - same exact face, just under various lighting conditions and custom enbpalettes: She's the same, just after attempted nose jaggy smoothing. Anyone is welcome to critique or say whatever they feel. edit: next time I'll post up shots that aren't just portraits

Skyrim computer rigs (heavy modding)
Taskmaster replied to MEyahMegusta's topic in Skyrim General Discussion
It will handle the game, but it's exceedingly overpriced. With patience you can get parts separately from newegg or another place, then build it yourself or have someone build it for you. Alienware you get everything good to go packaged up, but you're paying the extra large premium. That extra price you're paying you could get upgrades to many of the parts those Alienwares have packaged - or get the same items offered in those packages with plenty of septims to spare. -
She's not well lit and blending too much into the overall scene; which normally wouldn't be a bad thing depending... but given how busy this composition is it looks like a collage spill more than a cohesive image with focus. The magic in the cages are distracting, but if she had matching spell(and color) in her hands, it would've made that part a bit better. The background is more lit than her, especially those boxes. The magic on the left side(her right) and the boxes could've framed her in the image if she stood out instead of blending in. The scene itself is too lively in lighting, which seems to convey a different mood than what the scene suggests(to me). More shadow and dark corners would've helped provide a more brooding atmosphere, that I personally feel would've matched up better in the theme. The nudity distracts and seems like she's nude for no apparent reason, to make me feel it's showing off possible texture and mapping work more than an image trying to say something. As such, her blending in counts against it again. It's still an image that has visual appeal, though, so that's all that really matters in the end. Sans nudity, the shot feels candid. Making it monochrome could help composition where color distracts.

@Dagren: I'm going to add on to what ao2thend said. A little saturation would help, but at the same time I'm unsure of the weather there - is it overcast? If so, then, I think that works the way it is, except for stronger clouds(so you could replace some textures for that). Your elf? I wish she was more world hardened, but that's my personal taste. As far as the appearance you're trying to convey with her, she looks on point.

The stuff you said before "@Shermie" was way out of bounds, and set the tone for the rest of your post. Where you negatively critiqued(not that negative critiques in a vacuum are bad) someone else who hasn't actively participated. Don't do that shit. That's not fair to you, them, or anyone else. You: because people may end up responding to you in certain ways just out of spite. Them: they aren't in the damn thread, and them coming to defend themselves would cause drama. Everyone else: planting a horrible seed in the thread. Again, there's negative, positive, and neutral criticism - all on subjective matter. Everyone should be taking more caution with possible backhanded remarks, and bringing others who haven't participated into a critique, even if it's positive press. Personally, I feel you should delete the earlier part of that post before "@Shermie".

Keeping track of places you want to return

Take a screenshot. Screenshots like visual journal of your adventures. -
Yes I use PerMa, and it's worth the Skyproc headache. Haha I tend to plan the patcher around an errand, stream, youtube, etc. I seriously recommend viewing the PerMa Documentation(you can download from the page), which lists what all the perks do in the game.

While this is a great compliment to Shermie, it's at the risk of possibly slighting/backhanding everyone else. No one here should be generating the notion, that someone should or shouldn't be giving their own critiques, advice, or tips if they or others feel their screenshots are inadequate by comparison. This is all subjective matter, what's better than another is based on opinion. Critiques and advice, aren't, and shouldn't, always be about suggesting or telling someone of things they could do(in their opinion) better. It's also about sharing feedback on things they would've done, would do differently, and even alternatives for people to consider. We're dealing with subjective matter - everyone here is knowledgeable on all things subjective, even those lurking. This thread shouldn't create a cloud of intimidation for people to be afraid to share or even give their own perspective on what's shared. Let's prevent the elephant from spawning. Everyone's input is valuable and more than worthy. We're sitting at a round table.

She turned out great.
-
Thanks for the feedback guys, and I took your criticism. @gvman3670: She would eat you alive. Actually naw... she would just stick you up and rob you. @dTd: haha was it the bandana? Not gonna lie, she does have a slight look to that about her. @GrimReaper: I took this criticism to heart and reexamined her lips. I'm glad you pointed it out: She was fearful of the change, but I think she'll come around. I'm not sure if those'll do, but it's better than what I had before. @GimmeBACON: Fear-boner? If you saw the rest of her body, I'm not sure how you'd react, hah. She's pretty muscular.

I've been there. I used to run on a poor rig for a very long time. To help with screenshots a basic start is playing with the FOV, to help compose the scene and create perspective and scale. The first scene is too soft, and doesn't feel as if anything is in focus, even though the focal point is your character posing. The second shot feels too busy for such a scene and the perspective that's used. My eyes end up going all over the place and then I end up focusing on some things that are lower res than others right next to each other - I would've zoomed in further using a smaller FOV and blurred the background out with the mountains and part of the roof still visible. I think your third shot here is great. It's got a candid feel to it, you caught her in a good expression and everything. The FOV also looks just right for the scene. It's clear what the focal point is, and the background adds more to that focal point. As opposed to the first two shots, blurring the background or changing the FOV, I think would've taken away the feeling of it. I'm no authority or standard on any of this, but I thought I'd share my opinions, or what I'd have done.
-
Jann: Let me have it. Thoughts on the face; opinions on hair if you've got em, length, style, anything. Opinions on skin color? Eye color? Is everything fine? I've taken some suggestions from KaosWulf and Neon Firefly over the past few weeks, and I think it was for the better as it brought her older better look back. Sometimes you get carried away making changes and you lose the character's feel.
-
Oh.
-
Have you tried sculpting the distortions away?
-
Everything about her is superb. You know I love the musculature; I also think the "fur" is a nice touch, even moreso that she's platinum. Her short hairdo makes it even better, because it displays that she went as far as to cut her locks up top, but let down below go on the prowl intentionally. Makes me think she's got a fire about her. The strip leading up to the belly piercing is a nice touch, and I personally feel you should match her lip color with that of that stone.
-
@ettorg: you've done a great job with that character, and she's always inspiring. I don't have anything I'd change about her.

What do you aim for when installing an enb?
Taskmaster replied to Shirobako's topic in Skyrim General Discussion
Bite the bullet and run Skyrim in 720p. That's what I had to do, when I was on GTX260 and then HD6870. Also, you can reduce the resolution on some textures down to 1k or 512, and then remove the mipmaps(as they add to your VRAM load). -
FNIS 6.0, the next step: Dynamic Animation Replacers [modder feedback requested]
Taskmaster replied to fore's topic in Skyrim Non Adult Mods
This is amazing, I was just chatting with a friend the other day about Skyrim "stances" and this is essentially it! Will you be including these? If not, could you? Personally, I've been running the jab and right cross as my left and right normal hand to hand as replacers for quite the long time, and they're solid. -
Oh you mean you're wondering how do you get the armors out of the UUNP conversions? In bodyslide, after you convert or download a conversion, the armor/clothing should appear in the list in the upper left. Select it, then select a preset from the list just below it. The UUNP conversions shouldn'(or don't have to)t come with the armors themselves, you have to create the armor nif(based on your preset), through the bodyslider. Installing conversions or saving your conversions, should appear in the ShapeData and SliderSet folders of Bodyslide in the CalientTools folder.
