That one moment when you realize you got a little money...
Kamen Rider Kuuga replied to Hentai-chan's topic in Off Topic
While Mass Effect 1 is a fantastic game, Mass Effect 2 is a dumbed down, dumb action game where they cut almost everything that was great to aim it more toward the third person cover shooter market and further from the whole RPG market. Plus the story in 2 can be hand waved away as pointless, as virtually nothing knew was learned about anything... outside of how many times you'll want to scream when they've just said suicide mission for the hundredth time. Oblivion, is a great game, no matter what certain people will say. It's a little bland here and there, sure, but so was Morrowind and everybody busts a nut on that ugly as sin bitch with a combat system that makes me want to murder small puppies and... but I digress. There is a wealth of functions and features that work very well and make the game amazing that Skyrim decided to take an axe to, such as the ability to craft your own spells, have an oxygen meter visible when you dive under water, have a class, have a birth sign from the start of the game, have guilds that feel like you're actually growing into, rather than just being hot shoted to the top. It also features things like liches, gargoyles, daedra, Oblivion, Varla Stones that totally recharge enchanted weapons, a story where you are not the chosen one and that makes you SUPER DUPER SPECIAL. You can say you're dragonborn, but the Amulet says no, so hey, you can still be dragon-kin in your own head, champ. Oblivion is, dollar for dollar, a better value. Modding is great and vast, and while I love ME1 to death... ME2 drags it into the pit and murders it. -
[Lorefriendly mod idea] Orc Strongholds.
Kamen Rider Kuuga replied to lop's topic in SexLab Framework
Since I kill the chief and the other males in strongholds and take the women almost every game to begin with, a mod to make it "official" would be nice. -
If it's your job, then it is, because you're being paid to do it. It has inherent value to somebody else already. If not, then no; it has no inherent value to anybody but yourself and those you manage to convince that they have value.

And by extension they don't deserve a single cent unless we decide that they do.

At this point, and it makes me sound like a shithead, I almost cannot blame Valve for taking a cut. After all, they're the one who are hosting the files and serving the downloads. They have server and bandwidth costs to cover, something Bethesda and the modders sure as fuck wouldn't want to cover. But at the standard 30%? That I don't know. Bethesda, however, had no right to take as much as they did; they were not covering any costs at all. It was pure profit for doing nothing outside of making the CK free. If they wanted to make money off of this, then perhaps they should have just charged a fee for the CK... at least it would have been their work that they were being paid for, rather than just taking money off the top of another persons work. As for the modder... there is no easy way to do this. People today think they simply have a right to be given money for something they make. This is a wholly opinion based thing, and for my part I do not agree. I do not think that mods have any inherent value to anybody other than the person who made it. It is up to them to make it have value to somebody else, be it to fill a niche or to simply be of a quality that surpasses others in a field. But at the end of the day, it is up to somebody else to decide if, and what, the mod is worth. Simply tossing a price tag on a mod does not work, because as I said, what you consider to be worth a dollar or ten to me is worth a quarter... or nothing at all. More so, the whole thing on the modders who jumped at this is also up to opinion. Once again, for me it is rather clear; they threw the community under a bus for an attempt at free money, so whatever* they got, they deserved. Modders run out of the community? So be it. Mods dying because nobody wants to trust the people behind them? So be it. I have no sympathy at all for these people. They did it to themselves, and at the end of the day they should suffer the consequences of it all. * With the usual caveats, of course. Nobody deserves death threats, etc. At the end of the day, I don't think any course taken can ever be the best. There are too many opinions, too many directions to be taken. But I do think that locking things away behind a paywall is not the best, especially if they're at the core of modding like SkyUI. It is simply not right to have something so essential to the modding community as a whole to just be pushed behind a paywall. Even if they say that a free version will exist, which in all honesty is a lie. Once Bethesda obtained the rights to it, do you really think they would have let a free version exist? No, they would have the mod author remove the free version, and barring that, they would DMCA anybody who had the free version. That, I think, is the concept nobody who kept talking about free modding wanted to consider. The fact that any free version of a paid mod would have been ultimately taken down to corner the market and force the consumer into paying, especially if it was something as vital as SkyUI.

As Homeworld Cataclysm said; "The war for the homeworld is over now... but the galaxy remains a dangerous place." Winning one battle does not make you any safer. We may have won this minor fight, but it'll never be over. We cannot, and should not, simply let this go. We need to keep pushing this, and send a clear message to Bethesda that we will not tolerate this shit. Otherwise, while they give up on Skyrim, they'll just DRM up the workshop on TES6 and FO4, then make it so we simply cannot fight back. We won't have an option then; paid modding will be the only way to mod PERIOD.

A little warning to mod creators of non adult mods....
Kamen Rider Kuuga replied to LordNecris's topic in General Discussion
Exactly, if you want to get paid making stuff for games, get a job with that dev. Don't just hand over 75% of anything you make to them for doing exactly nothing. -

Well friends, if we start getting paid per post, I'll take mine in BJs and pizza. -
The Future of the Adult Modding Community
Kamen Rider Kuuga replied to Ceit's topic in General Discussion
The moment this place goes paid, I'm out completely. I like Ashal and SexLab, I might even pay something for it... but pay to be here in general? Not a fucking chance. This community isn't worth paying to have even basic access to. -
A little warning to mod creators of non adult mods....
Kamen Rider Kuuga replied to LordNecris's topic in General Discussion
Welp, I and everybody else who are against this sort of thing have been called SJWs, so I guess I'm off to tumblr to hate myself for being white and male. See you shitlords in Hell! -
A little warning to mod creators of non adult mods....
Kamen Rider Kuuga replied to LordNecris's topic in General Discussion
Also, and this is the most insane thing, I have seen people on the Skyrim forum over on Steam equating modders being paid with being freed from slavery. As if we, the players, were forcing the modders to work in the CK fields. -
A little warning to mod creators of non adult mods....
Kamen Rider Kuuga replied to LordNecris's topic in General Discussion
Because it's the way the world works these days; people assume whatever they make has inherent value to the world, and thus they deserve money for it. -
A little warning to mod creators of non adult mods....
Kamen Rider Kuuga replied to LordNecris's topic in General Discussion
So since it seems any newer version of SkyUI is going to be pay only, where does that leave SexLab and various other mods that use that? MCM and all that. -

The moment they do that, Skyrim is dead. -
A little warning to mod creators of non adult mods....
Kamen Rider Kuuga replied to LordNecris's topic in General Discussion
Guys, guys, guys, this is all so totally cool. 'Cause like, all these modders who want to get paid are saying this is only bad because EVERY SINGLE PERSON who isn't a modder is totally mean to them and always flaming them! So we gotta be nice to them and stuff with money, because otherwise we're all mean! It totally makes sense now! -
Steam a bit late on their aprils fool joke
Kamen Rider Kuuga replied to Veta's topic in General Gaming
Steam workshop has always, ALWAYS been a joke, so this is just another unfunny layer to it. Anybody who actually thinks they should be making a profit off of the resources and tools of a company, no matter how much custom work you put into it, is a fool. Worse, what about all the mods that require other mods to work, yet contain all the needed files to be stand alone? Should they thus be allowed to charge for something that contains the modding work of somebody else? Welcome to the potential death of modding. -
PS1 Final Fantasy Tactics is still my favorite game of all time, followed very closely by the 1999 release of Homeworld. The Remastered version is ass because it uses the shitty HW2 engine. The only good thing they did was make the Hive Frig actually good.

I mean, it's a Japanese heavy metal band... fronted by little Japanese J-POP idol girls. It's something that should not be, yet it is. And it's fucking amazing.

I, uh, watched the two episodes of Otomedori. I think the two chapters of the manga were better, because it had more of those yandere eyes from the sister.

Akira Toriyama is a fucking hack fraud at this point. Seriously, the whole thing about Freeza becoming powerful enough to meet end series Goku due to a few months of training was bad enough, then this shitty ass golden Freeza form was a cock slap. Now this whole blue haired Super Saiyan God form is basically him shoving his dick into my asshole without lube while donkey punching me. Are you fucking kidding? Super Saiyan God was bad enough, being a somewhat more slim and having eyes False Super Saiyan from Lord Slug, but now a blue haired form? is this why you said Goku was getting rid of his base and SSJ1 forms, you fuck? So you can make a whole new goddamned set of God modes? What's for the next move, does he get white hair? Does he get a tail again? Will the shitty fan designs from things like AF look good compared to it? People want to defend this shit? WHY?! You want a new series with this shit as canon? Are you fucking kidding me? FUCKING WHY?! This entire movie better be just him trolling the fuck out of the fanbase. Buu was bad enough...

NASA Chief Scientist Ellen Stofan Predicts We'll Find Signs Of Alien Life Within 10 Years
Kamen Rider Kuuga replied to ...0...'s topic in Off Topic
We've been predicting that we'd find alien life for decades now, yet no actual official evidence has yet been provided. If there is any other intelligent life, and I feel that it's impossible for there to not be given how vast the universe is, the same vastness would also make it virtually impossible for us to detect them, much less have them come here. Meanwhile, WHERE THE FUCK are my lunar and Mars colonies, huh?!
