    Honestly, you can dress up your mermaid in human form in any way you please, since she is technically a nord/breton/imperial race, who only have the ability to get a tail in water.

    The conjured familiar is probably of a race that has ticked can't open doors.   If you're talking about the vanilla familiar, then yes that's the way skyrim made it. Why not reconjure it after entering the next cell.

    I know it doesn't look right if a mermaid can only bend its tail backwards, (it would only look like she has her legs fused and hidden under a tail suit. Real mermaids can bend their tails forward.) But due to lack of resources, the crawl animation is the closest animation we have for mermaids on land.   If it's something like a power where the mermaid can have a tail when equipping a necklace, chanting a spell, and when in water, then no, it is not exhausting, it is very simple to do. We're just holding it off until we get land animations, because we don't want mermaids crawling on land, and suddenly standing up on their tail when attacking, it looks too weird to handle.

    Yes, but mermaids still need land animations, because mermaids who have legs on land will have a tail when they get wet.   But if you like the kind of mermaid who will have tail in water and legs on land, and not affected by getting wet, then we have a race that's done. However there are not too many water in skyrim, and you will only enjoy being a mermaid when swimming. We would like the mermaid feel even when on land.

    Thanks, we are already using those swim animations. What we need is animation when mermaid is on land.

      Exactly, it would look more realistic, besides I really think fishes don't have full control over their tailfin, except near the part on the main tail, and the tailfin just moves along.   We already have the meshes, and just need a little adjustment on the weightpainting. We need someone to make the animations, and to add the hdt physics to the tailfin.

    The first part of the video when medusa was crawling would be perfect for mermaids animation. But when she was able to stand on her tail, it does not fit for mermaids. Mermaids should not be able to stand on their fish tail.

    Yes, alternate tail fin shapes, forked, triangular, etc. based on actual taifin shapes.

    We were looking for someone who can help with the meshes, and making various types of tailfins, since the tail and tailfin are seperated, it is very easy to mix and match mermaid tails for more diversity. Can you please help us? Your knowledge about blender would be very useful.   We also need animators to make mermaid land animations. It does not have to be all, just the movement, and attack animations.

    It would be easier to have mermaids wear shell bras, and mermans not wear anything. Besides mermaids can wear any vanilla accessory anyway, they just can't wear shoes or body clothing/armor, they can still wear helmets, circlets, armbands, etc. If there's a need to have them wear the vanilla clothing/armor, that would mean to make a new mesh for every vanilla clothing/armor to fit into the mermaid body. I don't think thats very convenient. To me its seems unrealistic, if its a pants outfit, and the mermaid would wear it, the pants part would be cut up, if the mermaid unequips it, and a humanoid wears it, the pants part would be back, thats just unrealistic. I also find it even unrealistic that a female character could wear an armor by a male character and it automatically adjusts to fit the female figure. Would you agree if mermaids would have their own set of armor/clothing? They will still have plenty of choices, I have someone pm me that he will make clothes for the mermaid, and if you can always request for them.   Right now, the mermaid and merman meshes we have have a problem with the painting, I'm not very familiar with the terms, but the one that assigns the tail part to move with the legs, sometimes there's skin that shows through the scales depending on movement. The tailfin part also clips to the ocean floor when the mermaid swims at the bottom. If anyone wants to help, it would be really nice.

    Sunspot seperated the main tail from the tailfin and made the tailfin like shoes so mermaids/mermans can mix and match tailfins with tails.

      I tried adding the keyword ActorTypeCreature to the mermaid race, but when changing race, the grey face bug is still there. The game, for some reason will give an actor a grey face if the actor was edited. The werewolf does not have a grey face because the werewolf actually has a new head. Other creatures too that have new heads different from the human race will not have a grey face.

      Nice to have a coder on board. I'm hoping you would be able to help. We plan to make a mermaid race as an esm plugin, and make mermaid followers as a separate .esp. As you may have already known, when we make changes to an npc in the CK, the grey-face bug happens, and only by ctrl+f4 it will be alleviated. Since a mermaid follower will change race at any time during gameplay, that means the follower is edited when the game is running, the grey-face bug happens, and you can't ctrl+f4 during game play. Do you know of another way around the greyface bug? I have tried QueueNiNodeUpdate() and RegenerateHead() but it doesn't work. Other than that, we don't seem to have any problems with coding or scripting.   We do have a problem with the tailfin clipping through the ocean floor when a mermaid swims too low. We tried the hdt high heel effect, but it does not work underwater, and makes the mermaid float when on land using crawling animations. Maybe there is a code for it, or something about collision.   Sunspot would also want a new mermaid skeleton, with more bones at the tail, to make it more flexible.

    We've separated the main tail body from the tailfin. They can now mix and match different main tail colors with different tailfin colors and styles.   As of the moment, the tailfin part looks like it's a boat paddle by the way it moves, it's stiff and does not bend like real fins. Maybe adding hdt to it would help make it curl as it moves.     The tailfin bends according to the motion of swimming. ofcourse don't mind the main tail part where it looks odd, it's just human legs wearing tail costume.

    Well, what do you think? Any comments or violent reactions why the mermaids don't have exposed genitals and ass? Don't you love all the different tail colors and the pearl crown that doesn't really do anything but complement flawlessly? No? We're also making iridescent tail colors.       Anywhere but not the nexus, commissioning someone for a mod there is highly frowned upon, which I just found out. Besides I don't think any amount would compensate for their lack of interest. I've made a couple posts and got zero replies. I don't know of any other skyrim modding sites.   And pls stop refering to them as mers, otherwise you'll get a falmer.
