  1. Thanks, that does help.

I also found that just doing a search for 'Robert' in the armor section of the Oblivion mods on Nexus yields a lot more options than I was originally getting. Apparently searching for anything 'male' also delivers everything that says 'female' too. Should have figured. :p

  2. Are there any good armor mods for guys, or do those not come around until Skyrim? I have found a wealth of sexy babe armor, but I'm a Frank Frazetta fan. I sometimes like my dudes to dress like they belong on a Conan or John Carter book cover.

    Like dis:

  3. Never mind! I figured it out, apparently you just dump the various folders into the Data folder as per usual.

Nice mod so far, will look forward to all the visual overhauls available. This does exactly what I was hoping, thanks.

Unfortunately it's also made aiming with a bow a real pain in the ass. There doesn't seem to be an aiming reticule anymore.

  4. Thanks, I actually started looking at that just last night. Seems to push the game's graphics tremendously.

I started working with the install but this seems dangerous. It looks great, but I really want to get this mod working. After deleting my Oblivion.ini file (third step) my game would crash at launch. Fortunately putting the original .ini back where it was has fixed it and the game starts normally. I'm going to try again, but the first few steps

    Quote

    INSTALL
    - YOU MUST NOT FORCE ANYTHING IN THE VIDEO CONTROL PANEL (USE APPLICATION SETTINGS)

    - Delete the Oblivion.ini to reset settings to default (the one in Documents\My Games\Oblivion)
    - Run the launcher and set the resolution, graphics to highest quality, the HDR, no antialiasing
    - Run the game and set up recommended ingame video options

seem a little ambiguous. I used the normal launcher to set the graphics, but maybe that was using the video control panel. Not sure, I'll keep plugging away at it.

  5. Can anyone recommend a good camera mod? I'm going to try a few out but I'm open to any endorsements.

I'm playing as a mystic elf, and another alt is a chocolate elf. The problem I'm having is that the camera sits about six inches above my character's head in first person mode. I'm going to try Enhanced Camera to see if it will fix the issue, but I have my doubts.

To get rid of the jittery third person camera I'm going to try Ultimate 3rd Person Camera. It apparently makes the camera work more like Morrowind's, but I'm sad to say I never played it so I'm not sure what it entails. The screen shots looked alright, at least.

Let me know your recommendations if you have any.

    Thanks.

  6. Hey, thanks for the guide!

I'd like to add that I've been using the TesModManager since it worked so well with Skyrim. Unfortunately, it's not so friendly with Oblivion. Some mods aren't installing correctly, like the CM Partners mod, and some I had to install manually in order to get the options I preferred, like Roberts Male body.

For this reason I would recommend Oblivion Mod Manager.

  7. For Skyrim, Frostfall was an incredible immersion mod. It made traveling throughout the world much more significant. It added cloaks, backpacks, campfires, etc. It made cooking incredibly useful, and added alchemical recipes to help protect you further from the elements. It might sound simple up front (I underestimated it, for sure), but the implications it ends up having for gameplay are far reaching, the most of any mod I've used. It altered the landscape for decision making entirely.

I've looked up OOO and so far all I can find are various patches for it, and no clear indication as to what it changes. I'll keep digging though, but I think I'll start looking into War Cry.

  8. Hello! I love Oblivion, but never beat it. Each time I got far my comp crashed, lost my save, bad endings. :(

Then I got into FO3, NV, and Skyrim. Finally, I've returned to Oblivion with the intent to finally beat it.

But each time I start up a new Bethesda game and start modding it I always do shit out of order, or I find really cool and helpful mods woefully late into the game. I was hoping someone would be helpful enough to tell me the most essential mods to start off with? My friend told me I should just use Nexus' mod installer, but admittedly he's not the most attentive person. It seems good but if there's better/more reliable I'd rather go with that.

Also I'm open to any suggested mods you like.  I plan to make another sneaky rogue, so anything that makes stealth and infiltration more fun I'm all ears. >:)

    Thanks!

  9. I got my courier to have a 100 skill in repair, and have found a handful of nice schematics for building.

Problem is I never seem to have the right items for crafting, and keeping a list is cumbersome. Does anyone know of any good addons that simplify crafting in anyway?

Ideally I'd have one that just adds tool tips for items that tell you what recipes they can be used in, but I haven't found anything like that.

Currently I can make a lot of things, but end up not making much of anything due to how cumbersome the grocery list of items I need to get is. I'd like to experiment with some mods to see if anything helps without breaking my game too much, but I'll try anything.

    Thanks.

  10.

Just an update, tried Unlimited Followers Everywhere. It also compromises the stability of my game petty heavily. :\

Ah well. Does anyone know if there's a mod that removes Cass' hat? It seems like it's just a part of her model, and she won't equip anything else.

This mod of mine sets all companion clothing to be playable, so you can remove companion's clothing - including Cass and Veronica's headwear - at will.

    Worked gr8 m8 :)

    +1

  11. There are a lot of really good sounding followers I'd like to try out. I like using some of the defaults too, like Cass and Veronica.

I found the Unlimited Companions mod, but from the looks of it it's been discontinued. I still plan to try it out, but am concerned about game stability. With 2 followers now, I'm worried with 4 or more might cause more CTD's. :\

I'm also looking into a mod that allows vanilla companions like Cass and Veronica to join me in DLC areas, like the Big MT. I'm still concerned that might make my game crash, since you have to dump them for some reason before going into the new areas. :(

UPDATE: Well I tried the Unlimited Companions mod, but it seems taking 4 people (Cass, Vernoica, Vanessa, and ARES) to the Big MT crashes the game anytime I try to go anywhere from the balcony. :\

  12. Hm, I thought I got all of her armor modules. I'll need to look again.

I did go through a quest line where she flew a plane and blew up legion for me at Hoover Dam. Also she fucked my character in a sequence. Or at least I think she did, it faded to black. :P

I had kind of figured I went through the whole quest by that point. Maybe I need another armor module or something. I did get her kickass minigun.

  13. Hm, not sure what the problem is, then. I'll try and make a female alt and get the gear to see if it works, but so far as I can tell I have everything Andrea needs to switch her into that outfit. She seems to prefer her short shorts and tank top though. :\

    Thanks for the help though.

For anyone who's used Andrea, could you tell me how to get the Tecknica Cyberpunk armor to show? I think I'm only missing the Dimonized body type, but the links to it on Nexus seem to be out of date, and any attempt to find it on there yields nothing. I think it may have been taken down but am not sure.

    Thanks!

    You mean this one?

Yup, that armor! It looks neat.

Unfortunately, it requires the DIMONIZED body type. The link provided for it is:

  15. I really like these two...

    Andrea, ARES Model 2.14: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/48621/?

  16. Thought I'd share this mod. DL'd it recently and really like it.

    It does 2 things:

    1) adds pretty awesome vests with symbols, they also have stat buffs

    2) adds courier bags/satchels that increase your carry supply

They both look pretty cool, and so far as I can tell followers can use them too! :)

  17.

Meant to swing back in here, but forgot. Oops!

Now that it's on my mind, I'll add that while Vanessa is a great shot and a very helpful partner, she bitches about whiskey all the time! Literally, I don't think more than 2 minutes can pass without her complaining about wanting whiskey to drink.

Anytime I check her inventory she has about 8 bottles of it- alcohol I gave her. I also loaded her up on vodka and other alcohol to see if that'd shut her up.

I'm thinking of ditching her, but haven't made up my mind. Andrea is much better company so far, and just as powerful if not more so in a fight. If I have to hear Vanessa sing about whiskey one more time I might just abandon her out in the Mojave the next time she passes out. > :(

Give Vanessa 15 bottles of whiskey and she will never complain about it again.

This is copied from the mod author in a sticky in the comments.

If she has in her inventory:

Whiskey Bottle = 1 She drinks it with Idle.

Whikey Bottle < 6 She wants whiskey

    Whiskey Bottle between >= 6 & < 50 She's quiet about it

Whiskey Bottle >= 50 Good luck

I gave her 15 in my game and she does not complain anymore. She is one of my favorite companions.

Good get. I also ended up doing her quests (which are admittedly pretty funny) and she became considerably less of a drama whore. She's also a real deadly shot now, and gave my courier a drug to enhance his run speed. Now if she'll just drug him and fuck his brains out. :P

I kind of want to give her 50 whiskey bottles now, just to see what happens...
