      I don't know if MBH will do any of that stuff, but I'm working on a few things to liven up my own install of the animal mansion. At least for special guests visiting, and interaction with Thaena. The part about the comments might be far above my skills as a modder.

    The scene between Jesper, Thaena and the player never fired for me. I'll try again tonight, and see if it happens again. I get one off bugs sometimes.

    Insects can be disabled. Not sure if mbh put it in the MCM, or used a dialog option, but it's in there.

Compared to the 148 people (91%) who do?     Some of the biggest mistakes that modders often make are getting stuck in bugfixing mode (and not generating new content because of it), and not knowing when to cut their losses.   If development is taking more than twice as long as it should, to ensure that 15 people can play the mod (or less than 10% of the user base for the mod), it's not worth doing. If it was 20% of the mods users, then it would be worth it. Why? Because the other 91% of your users that are sitting around waiting for updates will eventually grow frustrated, tired of waiting and simply move on to something else.     I, personally, am barely paying attention anymore. Hearthfire is $5 on Steam. There isn't an excuse for not having it at this point. Don't have $5? Skip going to Starbucks for a day.

    Pretty sure we're the wrong group of people to ask for help. Pretty sure most of us are equally as addicted.       But... There's always SexLab Solutions, at the very least your PC can fuck their way through the game. You can simultaneously progress the story, and watch the goodies.

    Idanis' quest idea is actually really good. I'm hoping to see more of a progressing story out of this mod, it's something I wished there was more of in the first one.

    There, now that I've updated to 0.1e (And wasted 20 minutes testing .1d AGAIN)...   Only minor bugs this time: 1. Solitude, Whiterun, Falkreath, and Riften quest triggers don't receive markers. Not a huge problem, but sometimes they wander out of the keep. 2. When returning to Thaena, the proper price isn't actually in the conversation choices.   And a note: When upgrading to 0.1e from 0.1d, you must use a clean save or Thaena won't be at the camp. (Or at least she wasn't for me.)

    Found one issue, aside from the spelling/grammar/capitalization that normally bugs me.     I'm on the land part of the quest. Went to Windhelm, worked perfectly.   Next step says "Go to Winterhold." and the description for the quest is "I went to Winterhold, no plots of land available". Except, according to the quest log, I haven't been to Winterhold yet. I haven't talked to anyone about land. And more importantly, I can't seem to find the quest trigger to advance the quest?   I'm not exactly sure where you put it, but apparently I managed to get into Winterhold without activating it. (Using carriage added by http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15508/?)

      This has been a commonly known bug for quite some time now (at least 2 months). SL Dialogues actually removes the conversation choices needed for The Animal Mansion to function, in this version, and the old version.   Edit: More specifically, it removes the dialogue option for Thaena to hire you, if I remember correctly.

      Uninstall the original, install this afterwards. Unsure about save compatibility so far, haven't tested it. I would seriously doubt it's backwards compatible since it does list the original "The Animal Mansion" as a mod conflict.

    Holy shit, it's sky_mds.   To clarify what some people are asking, since I've gone through this thread multiple times in the past few days.   Yes, you are free to build off this mod, provided you build on v0.6e or earlier. You cannot build on Jmathers work (I haven't checked, but I think all of the versions Jmathers made were deleted by the admins already) which spans from v0.6f to v0.8p.   Jmathers CAN in fact, update this mod, if he so chooses. The issue he had was a certain russian website stole the last version he released and claimed that they made it. Hell, someone even posted a link to it in this thread. He couldn't do anything about it, because the permissions sky_mds left simultaneously left the mod "open for use" and gave ownership to Jmathers. The admins decided the "open for use" took precedence.       I've personally never had a mod stolen, but I've had other things I've created stolen (game designs, artwork, music, website code/designs) and I totally understand how Jmathers must feel. "You want to take credit for something I created? Oh. Well, fuck you then. No more updates."

    The 0.6p version shouldn't even exist on anyone's HDD except JMathers.   The 4b version drove me insane, the dialogue was... different. It was interesting, but the grammatical errors drove me up a wall. To the point I went into the CK and manually fixed them all. I love the work Jmathers did, if for nothing more than how unbelievably stable it is. Only ever had one issue, with the NPC for the umm "2girls1animal" show not following, and even that was a rare occurrence. The extra work he put into it, and extending the quest line was really just a massive bonus.     Edit: Also, I have that bootleg. >>

      No offense, but while the sentiment for sky_mds' work being complete is great, and I'm sure he appreciates it. It does seem as though your needlessly tripping over your own feet.     The easiest solution it seems is moving on to your own thread, and creating two separate file downloads.   One for the completed version of sky_mds' mod. (ie: The Animal Mansion 1.0) and another for your continuing work (ie: The Animal Mansion Extended, or whatever =P) all with your own permissions.

    The ton of problems Jmathers refers to is the problems with the LL ToS/Admins.   The issue here is that (and I totally understand and respect the reason why) Jmathers wants to finish the mod using this thread as sky_mds had intended it to be. It makes sense that the completed version of the mod would be located here. The problem is that while Jmathers has taken up the mantle of completing this mod and using this thread until he's finished it as sky_mds would have, he can't. Either he needs to start his own thread (so he can keep his own set of permissions) and post the finished version there, or drop his no modification/no distribution permissions on the work he's done, and post it here before moving on to his own thread.   Alternately, sky_mds could come back and say "Only Jmathers has permission to do ______ with my mod" which would kill anyone elses mods based on The Animal Mansion that are being worked on. And since he hasn't even logged into LL in over a month, I doubt that will happen any time soon.     tl:dr;   The only way development of this mod can continue is either Jmathers starting his own thread, or changing his usage/distribution permissions.

    Basically this. You would have to talk to the admins for verification, but Sky_mds's "Open to edit" should include creating a new development branch which you can have your own rules for.   You'd just have to call it "The Animal Mansion+" or something like that. Similar to SD+, or Aroused Redux. And any work you do, or assets you create should be protected by it being a different mod, with a different set of permissions.

  24. PC/NPC Texture bug

    Okay, I've been looking at this one for a few days now, and I'm totally stumped. I have no idea what's causing it. Game works fine, 100% stable, no lag, but after a few minutes this happens.   Edit: Also noticed it happening to trees.

    I just wanted to say good luck, sky.     I was skeptical at first, but quickly got to the point where I was just having a chuckle every time I read the "I'm not very good at modding" line on the Animal Mansion download page. It's so not true. The Animal Mansion really is the mod that got me back into Skyrim after about a year and a half of not playing it anymore. It is the mod that kept me coming back to LL. I've since found a few other great mods here, but this was the first.       I keep saying I should get into modding... I think now might be the time. It must be completed.
