  1. ESRB was brought about in 1994, Doom was released in 1993 but Daggerfall was released in 1996. Only Doom predates ESRB

Night Trap and the first Mortal Kombat were a few of the reasons behind the ESRB being implemented because of the violence and also you know sexual content :)

because of the OUTCRY which is weird being that the games were made for adults by adults but bitchers gotta bitch LOL.

The two Duke Nukems in 91 and 93 too and that old video game where all you had to do was crush people with your car too, forgot the name of that one.

Assuming the first part of this rant is referring to mods changing dialogue, I think you're wayyyyyy off base. Mods have been able to make massive, massive changes to the past games and once people are past the learning curve, it'll happen with this one. The biggest hurdle to modding the dialogue system will likely be on the UI side as opposed to the scripting side.

Why don't you try reading again and understanding the context ? Wait don't bother I have a minute to spare : I was talking about some idiots making petitions so Bethesda would change their dialogue system BEFORE the game is even out. Because those idiots apparently only need 30 seconds of trailer about that new dialogue system to think it's shit. Never said folks wouldn't be able to change it with mods AFTER game release.

    So, wrong assumption :P

  3. People thinking they can change game features from what they've seen of it in it's teaser/trailer = lol, big time lol. Like so out loud I created a second voice which lols too so we can both lol in synch and make a lolchestra. Wait, people thinking they can change a BETHESDA game feature from it's trailer with a petition. Wow it's a loltrio, we're gonna be so famous I'll call it "Lol and Lol and fucking Lol".

  4. Fuck here he is again I thought he gave up ... Bjornk you're on a modding forum almost exclusively dedicated to Bethesda games. Of course there are fanboys here, and of course you're gonna get shat on if you try to nitpick trailer details on Beth's new game.

There's nothing else to say really, carry on your crap if you really can't live without it but don't be surprised if you get some violent calls to make you shut the hell up.

And at the end of the day really, no one gives a shit after all, you're like an annoying mosquitoe, nothing more.

  5. I know everyone is probably tired of this discussion BUT after watching the dog gone reveal trailer once again I caught something Todd Howard said. "we even generate a baby based on the characters you sculpt" Why? unless the two you sculpt are not the ones you will play as BUT instead the Baby (who will look like whomever you leave the creation screen with) after a 200 year deep freeze and possibly life within the vault before or after the deep freeze. If your not going to have that much time before or after Cryo why bother even creating a baby other then the one you see her running to the vault with and we don't get to see much of that one in the first place? things just don't add up yet.

The robot says "Mr Howard" in the trailer when the MC meets him. Don't think he'd call the baby that, plus you get to name your character when you sculpt the dad/mom. Sooo, he could be mistaking him for his dad, maybe, but I doubt it.

In your particular case, yeah, it doesn't matter, because underage content is illegal anyway and the site might run into legal issues. But that wasn't the point, my point was that it should play no role for the rules what some might find disgusting or uncomfortable, because that's where the downward spiral usually starts.

And tbh I don't think how this site would go the way wolflore went. What happened at wolflore was what you said - rules based on what you find repulsive. The admin just needs to have a different opinion than you on what is disgusting and what isn't to ban content you enjoy.

I'm talking about the hypothetical situation where Ashal for example doesn't want to ban loli mods. Soon enough, the website runs into problems, and everything must go, rape-ish hentai mods, tentacles and dog sex, everything. So illegal or not, disgusting or not, the same thing as what happened over at wolflore happens, everything goes away as you said.

But yeah I do get your point, if we base rules on people' tastes, everything blows up. We should only observe laws (with flexibility as DoctaSax says), I got it Grim, I got it.

  7. Exactly. Which means that if an animation takes place at the same exact space as where you started, there are chances that you could see that collision effect, like, as you said, in the case of idles. For walking/running animations, you're actually processing new data as you move, actualizing the collision effect, which means wherever you run to, the meshes you walk into will be rigid and collide with you. If you however start from a static position, and use an animation that moves your character from that position like a dance, only the area where you started has collision, not where your character goes during the dance.

  8. It's just the engine man, you can't just expect your char to stop at the wall if the animation really has to go through it or collide with it. The collision can't just modify your animation that much, it can only picks up small details like ankles or wrist, not more.

  9. In short, whine at Steam harder, try the account recovery thing, change right now the passwords on all of your e-mail accounts, if you registered your credit card on steam GO TO THE BANK RIGHT FUCKING NOW. I buy shit on steam only with prepaid cards so I don't know how it works with direct transactions, but if you don't recover your account asap, you better talk to your bank.

Opinions are all nice and dandy, it's when you start to force them upon others that the mess begins. Rules should be as neutral as possible, without any kind of personal agenda. I mean, that's exactly what happened over at wolflore, the old admin was okay with all the rape content, the new ones weren't and I'm sure they were really, really looking forward to give all the filth that has accumulated over at their forum the boot. All the content got kicked out just because someone didn't like it. Fuck no, never again pls, I'm still traumatized. That may or may not be the reason I disagreed with what you said, despite it being mostly semantics.

That's my opinion on the matter. Live and let live.

You know that even without anyone's opinions or tastes on the matter, it's still illegal so moot point really. Rape and bestiality are already walking on the line here on that account, so yeah. Just one thing over the line and everything goes with it, if we "live and let live" a similar scenario as what happened at wolflore would happen here.

  11. The collision is pretty small most of the time, for example if your leg under the knee clips under the ground during an animation, the collision may pick it up and bend your knee automatically to keep above ground. However, it doesn't work all the time, and only work to some degree, if you start a dancing animation close to a wall and your character goes too far, he'll obviously go through the wall mesh instead of colliding with it. So no, there's nothing to be done about this really.

Loli isn't pedo. And we did have a loli mod for a long time before ashal changed the legal rules.

It was quality stuff, just saying.

Don't wanna get into an argument about loli content, just find it personally repulsive, even if I do understand the drawn hentai loli stuff I just can't when it's 3d and when it's thriving to be realistic. I think it should be okay as long as it doesn't try to become more erm, "vivid", in short. Like a hentai artist just draws his character, and you can't be mistaken that it is a drawing, no matter how well done the drawing is. Yet loli mods are not there, done, there's always something that goes "realistic textures for underage characters" or "SOS addon for kids" that just disgusts me. But that's my opinion again, without even talking about what I think is disgusting or not, it still heavily falls under most laws about created content, and I'd just like to keep modding without having to fear the police knocking at my door for having an account on a website hosting loli mods, ever.

But that's the point, everyone draws a different line. The legal definition of whats allowed and what isn't may not be the best definition there is, but at least it's clear for everybody. And most importantly it isn't open for discussion.

Aight aight, let's go for 3/4 legal iron rules then. My bad for my individualistic use of pejorative adjectives entitling nothing but my own opinion. ( )

    Thieving stuff = pirating?

More like stealing assets from another modder. That's the first rule of modding, always ask permission. Don't appreciate pirating too, but imho it's second to stealing from modder, simply because most of the time a company can live by if their games get pirated by people whereas a modder can just decide to stop doing what he does, as it happened countless times with FO/Skyrim modders.

Don't forget that LL also has very lax rules regarding everything. Depending on which thread you visit, it ranges from a hugbox to /v/-tier shitposting and anything inbetween. We have something for everyone. Other modding communities have become too large or enforce strict rules on what content is allowed and which isn't. Like everyone makes a big deal about porn in games yet everyone wants it. Well, not everyone, but you get what I mean.

True dat, another proof that censorship is an obstacle to creativity most of the times. There should be 3/4 iron rules about the real disgusting legal stuff, but as for the rest freedom and modding always go together.

    fixed that for ya

You know what I find disgusting, for me pedo/thieving stuff belongs to the disgusting realm as much as the illegal one.

  15. I've just realized something very obvious : sex is the main factor which enhances modding. Think about it, this one website has most likely the most tech support, help, modders correspondences and projects sexual or not, in the whole modding side of the internetz. I've modded a shitload of games, but I've never seen as much help anywhere else, usually the modding scene is pretty unhelpful, most of the time websites are made to grab files and gtfo to try them. LL managed to create a community that actually helps each other, and also countless others who can lurk in the tech support sections and find answers for their problems. And all of it, thanks to sex.

Just imagine if astrophysicists were as nerdy as us, and if they created sex spaceships schematics with dildos in every corner. We'd all be jacking off around Saturn already.

  16. Well I guess it's pretty much confirmed mods made on the PC will be able to be used on the XBone (and I suppose the PS4 at some point), how much say so Microsoft and Sony will have in the approval of said mods is yet to be seen. They've normally gone batshit crazy in restricting content for either Console. but transfers are all supposed to be done through Bethesda.net. Which I think is probably a good thing as far as that aspect goes and from what I get from the interview bethesda.net is the only place such things as LL mods would be prohibited so it seems business as usual for LL. LMAO Todd Howard says he knows of such mods existing but doesn't use them in his games but says it's interesting how modders make things work when the game was sooo not made for these things LMAO

You misread, the one talking about sex mods and how the game wasn't meant for that and all is the kotaku "reporter", unecessarily bringing his personal views on the subject and doing what kotaku reporters do, being obnoxious asses mistaking journalism with blogging.
