I'm not trying to be negative about the game, I'm just reading a lot about it on official forums and had some first hand experience with different patches myself. At the moment I don't have any game breaking issues, except for may be alchemy, but I can live without it till next patch, but a lot of other people and I mean a lot, have serious problems introduced by latest patches.

What's important and it's pure speculation, but I think (and not only me) that the game has the same build for all 3 platforms. When they do something to make the console version run better, they sacrifice some graphic fidelity and naturally the PC version suffers from it too.

I'm with CDPR for the time being. They could have done a better job with patch testing, but they want to please the crowd and sometimes like in their own game you can do more harm than good. Let's hope the next patch will be better.

Dunno and don't care about other people, I understand my own version of the game may be different cross platforms or something, and others may have difficulties. Same as any game if you ask me though. But yes, okay, it's pretty annoying when it happens in a RPG, even more so when it blocks you from carrying on the story line. Hope that gets fixed soon, and even more so, hope that doesn't happen to me lol.

But, knowing CDPR's history on patches (dat patch for Witcher 2...), they should address all those big problems one at a time, and carry on fixing the game for a long time, even shit a huge ass thing as they did for W2 maybe, with some luck. I mean with the number of patches, they just gotta get things right at one point and solve game breaking bugs.

Wonder how many of us are contemplating fixing that ending with a RedKit mod?

Worst part is no one will manage to do it as fucking well as CDPR did. It's so well written and so well voice acted that I don't see anyone except CDPR themselves edit it masterfully. Really the problem is not the writing in itself, but the amount of it. For example, I'd have like just one other side quest with Triss which brings some closure to their story, make them part ways either on really bad terms or on really good terms, something like that. Instead it's like she's just ... gone y'know ?

The sequence where she leaves for Kovir ain't even a final farewell, I mean she comes back like salt in your wounds, and this time she's just angry at you, or worse, she ignores you to concentrate only on the subject of the main quest line. I hope the DLCs are so well done that they fix this thing totally, I mean I'm fucking sad as hell, if not for the story pushing me towards Yen with that Priscilla song, I'd have def chosen Triss...

Killing cows was never because of XP, it's an exploit peaple on low lvl were using to farm and sell their hides, as a result breaking the game's economy.

XP bug is still present even after the latest patch. It's related to some quests, that do not give you experience even if they are in range of your lvl.

Actually with every patch released CDPR managed to break more things then fix them. From overall graphical and performance downgrade to game mechanics and quests.

I see, didn't try it or heard about it before the last patch so I wouldn't know. Not seeing anything broken to be honest, still playing as well as ever and still not understanding what is the big deal about the changes made in the graphics. Even if I do think there is a need for some mods so our PCs can work at full power, the game is still beautiful. I mean it's the prettiest graphics on an open world RPG ever made at the moment, can't understand why folks think they deserve better.

Any-who, seriously how the writers handled Triss' story line is bitter as hell. Somehow

since I rejected her for the kiss, and let her leave for Kovir, and after the kiss with Yen when Triss came back for the battle at kaer morhen, she seems fucking pissed at me. Like, I found her earrings around her bed that Yen threw away from Kaer Morhen's highest chambers, and gave them back to her. She only said thanks, reminds me of the good old days, repeated twice "the good old days" while looking frankly desperate, and turned away. Like, we're done y'know... Cold as fuck, yet realistic too, but still cold as fuck.

  4. You guys heard about the xp glitch ? Like people used igni on a bunch of sheep, got lots of xp, then mediated for an hour, the sheeps respawn, igni, et caetera ad eternam hocus pocus.

Well CDPR deployed the Bovine Defense Force in the last patch, a level 45 Chort arrives at full speed from nowhere to rip your face off if you try it ahaha

PS : @ jxm, your money's gonna be all gone once you start buying enhanced and superior diagrams for potions, or start crafting witcher gear, or buy runestones ... They could've balanced the thing a bit more tho, having 35k gold and then absolutely nothing is depressing.

PS2 : i had 45 000 gold, and I hit a cow in Skellige by mystake. The guards FREAKED out, and twenty of them showed up and whacked the fuck out of me. So I wake up, go back to Novigrad, come back to Skellige, wasting my auto save slots, and then notice the guards took ALL my crowns. Like all of it. Last manual save : 15 hours ago.

    Derp a welp derp.

EDIT: actually it might not matter - to get the 3rd row you need to spend 20 points in attacks anyway

I got all first two rows of the two first columns in swords, and just one point for the two special attacks since they're way too op when they're maxed out. Once you get that, you can invest in some passives in the sword tree until level 25ish, then add some quen. Oh and avoid cat armor if you're deep into sword tree, as the bonus attack power makes you way too op. Even if you take a lot of damage, it's pointless if you one shot everything, much more rewarding to have less attack power and more tanky-ness. Fights last longer that way, and feel really challenging.

Plus cat armor is kinda yuck isn't it ? I mean leather crotch and slim jeans, c'mon lol

Anyway, you posted something about what trees (omg sry didn't want to say trees again) are best to spend skill points in, I find this game kind of difficult. I can't find that post, would you mind telling me what worked for you?

And how can you get that 500 points of extra health? Which tree (last time, I promise) is that slot in?

Yeah it's better to spend skills in one particular tree (fuck you bjornk) than spread them over multiple ones. Like, if you wanna play a mage, spend everything in Signs from the start, if you play on Death March.

The skill I talked about is in the 4th tree, called survivalist I think ? Didn't play the game for a day or two I forgot the name. Anyway look for it, 500 vitality is pretty nice (plus green mutagens, ONLY if you're concentrating on alchemy).

I made an alchemy build for death march, vitality bonus +3000, with the mutagens it reach +5000 lol. I was playing with the starting level 1 armor when I was level 31, and still monsters my level had to hit me for 3 minutes to get me close to 15% HP... So, way too op.

Also made a +100% crit chance, +300 crit damage, +75% attack power once, +100% atk power with thunderbolt, but I scratched it, one shooting quest bosses is not fun ...

Didn't try sign build but apparently it's OP too if you take the right skills.

Just choose what looks fun to use, if you try to make a serious build the game loses a bit of it's fun, even if CDPR's gonna patch the whole thing soon.

PS :  @gregathit : you the man greg, you the man.

How about because it's less immersive?

One could argue that fantasy trees would immerse you more into a fantasy game than realistic trees you see everyday while picking up your groceries. A bit like how having two headed rabbits in a fantasy game immerses you more into the game without looking one bit realistic. And also everything that makes fantasy fantasy. Like unnatural flashy lights and saturated colors in a certain korean MMO ;)

I'm starting to sound like the worst fanboy ever trying to defend every single part of the game lol. Yet seems unavoidable when people with nothing else to do come here to purposely start arguments right ?

Does anyone else like the forests?

They are pretty, but a bit fantasy-ish looking. Forests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance are more realistic looking.

Ah fuck me, and here I thought I was playing a fantasy game lol. Should've known it was a biopic all along ...

Any reason why a fantasy game shouldn't have realistic looking trees?

Nah the question is : any reason why a fantasy game shouldn't have fantasy trees ?

PS : Let's not get into an argument about trees please, it would be even more retarded that the other pisswars on this thread. Was just making a joke, keep that finger off the triggerr

  10. Y'know if they actually managed that paid mods system, it wouldn't be that bad knowing Bethesda. Imagine what they would do if they really developed their game while really looking out for modders. Right now it's just half assed, but if they go at it with the intention to make money and making it an actual business, no one in the world would be able to stop them, they'd enter beast mode. We'd get the best customizable game ever created if the devs are given the green light and the resources to do it. Basically, it's the bait technique, a donkey runs the fastest when you jiggle a carrot in front of him, same stuff for the fat ass corporate shits at Zeni and Beth.

And everyone will be happy, except Steam sucked ass when handling that matter, it's a fact. So they may have ruined big plans for the modding scene, and especially FO4 maybe ?

  11. I do like the orange filters on FO games, even if I hate it in all the other games, even Skyrim. Dunno, I'm used to them now so whenever I see that kind of filter it makes me think immediately of Fallout, a bit like a trademark.

And definitely the Creation engine, if they plan to release the game on Xbox 360 and PS3 too. Don't see them using another engine when they know this one works great on last gen consoles. And it's not a bad thing of course, as modding the game is that much easier. For once let's thank the crappy consoles for being crappy. If it was another game it'd be a shame for them to stop innovating their engines because of last gen consoles, but right now for Beth games, crappier is better smh.

  12.

In any case. I'm having a lot of fun. I'm playing with the HUD all off and walking most places, but occasionally use the horse. Very immersive for me :) Still can't get over how big the map is lol.

Velen is big, but Skellige is even bigger somehow. So you'll crap your pants once you get there. If you don't use fast travel like me and use the boat to go to each island, it takes ages, and even more so if you stop along the way to dive and look for treasure/kill sirens/drowners/explore islands...

About Skellige by the way, I was slowly driving my boat around a seemingly uninhibited small island, and when I passed one of the big hills around it, I saw a big ass ruined castle. So I landed my boat to the little docks on the other side, and was greeted immediately by 12 pirates shouting "'tis OUR crib ye fooker, get the fook outta here !". So naturally, I kill them, all their friends in the castle, their boss, and even the sheep they kept in the backyard.

Apparently their boss was some sort of fanatic serving a "Great God" by torturing people and impaling them with stakes. He had a chest with around 200 florens, which converted to amounts to 350 crowns, so that was cool. Oh and in the room next to where he was torturing people, there was a cell missing one wall, on the cliff side. On the floor there was Tyrion Lannister, dead on the floor in the same clothes he had in GOT when he was imprisoned in the Eyrie, and when he saw him Geralt said "Guess he didn't know how to fly", referring to what Robert the lord of the Eyrie said on the TV show "I want to see if the little man can fly !"

    Just epic.

Wow I thought that comment last year on reddit was BS, but now that I look at it, she's got some stuff right...

    5 DLCs then eh ?

    And a spin off ?

It's starting to sound a lot like Rage. Male protag, post-apocalyptia, mutants, raiders...if they add cars and bikes it will probably make a pretty good game.

And @ElectricSheep, that link sounds like a load of untrustworthy shit.

Dude that was written 11 months ago, and right now in June they're revealing the trailer, as she said.

Plus the trailer showed some robots running amok in a town...

Still not sure but it's starting to make a lot of coincidences, will see in the future if she's right, which would mean all the rest could be too.

    50$ says it's bullshit. You'll see.

Let's hope you're wrong, as yet what she says seems pretty interesting, except for the male locked thing.

  15. Looks like an upgraded Skyrim engine doesn't it ? I like the texture work but the actors mesh look as bad as ever. I'll also grab a filter as soon as they release the game, a sepia one. It looks way too "clean" right now, unless they added game changing climates with dynamic sandstorms or something, I don't see myself playing in a FO with a sky that blue and so much overall sharp image, it should be a bit hazier like, y'know, a wasteland.

That said I'm happy with how crappy the meshes seem, means modding the game should be that easier. Bethesda logic : the crappier the game look, the more you'll have an easy time modding it. Animations seem also as stiff as ever, hope they kept the same format as Skyrim so we can animate some new idles/sex anims.

What's good is that Skyrim modding has been so intensive, we already have skeletons that should be as good or even better than what most games have now. If we FO kept some of Skyrim's contents, namely their skeleton, it'll be damn easy to rig and edit it.

So yeah, pretty damn hopeful. Just hope the paid mods are bullshit, would hate to see Loverslab (really) become a pirate platform ... I've always thought they should make a system for mods where frameworks and necessary resources mods like SkyUI in Skyrim have two download options ; one with the things you need to run all the mods that depend on it, hence just the script and an epurated version of the mod. And another one that you have to buy with a premium version, with all options enabled. Looks like DRM yeah, but that's a compromise, and that way it'd push people to release bigger mods as their premium version will need to deserve a separate paid download.

  16. So, White Orchard is pretty fail.

After playing all day in the area after white orchard...is WAY more epic. I went to the city and it feels so lively. It kinda reminds me of Guild Wars 2 cities, but better and less NPCs standing around doing nothing.

So my initial experience was wrong...the large play area is VASTLY better than I thought it be. The NPCs are a lot better. In White Orchard, they felt so scripted and limited...but that doesn't seem to be in the area after from my experience. Especially that huge city, wow...it feels like being in an actual city. Its really awesome.

Lol that's what you get from judging a game from it's prologue/tutorial zone. A bit like people saying Dragon Age Inquisition is shit because the quests in the Hinterlands are boring fetch missions or "bring the bull back".

  17. So apparently I killed the wrong guy in that Cabaret questline.

I wonder if its possible to find the true killer, there are so many notes laying around novigrad.

Nah once you messed up that's it.

Finish the game knowing that you failed ! Mouahaha

Even so, the mmo market is declining worldwide.Even wow lost almost 3.0 mil subs in a quarter. (http://www.gamespot.com/articles/world-of-warcraft-loses-nearly-3-million-subscribe/1100-6427147/

When you take people for money cows, they're gonna get pissed at one moment or another and stop playing your game, yeah...

Maybe one day they'll stop taking gamers for rich idiots ready to spend money on whatever bullshit they serve, and actually make good content with a legitimate need for a cash shop, without it being p2w. That'll be the day when they start looking for real developpers resumes instead of business school graduates...

  19.

    Seriously?

I'm commenting on the game because I have an opinion on it.... because there is a thread about it. Like I do on other games I have opinions on. Be it good or bad.

That I don't own it doesn't matter. This isn't a thread for owners of TW3, that's what the official forums are for. This is a thread about the game, on an adult (mostly) website.

And honestly, if I had owned the game and complained I can guarantee that some jackass would echo "don't like, don't buy" like a fucking parrot.

No I mean, fuck off if you don't have the game, "seriously". Kinda stupid to see people purposely come here to argue when they don't even have the game and are only talking out of their asses. It's one thing to dislike the game if you have it, it's another to come here and tell us how much you don't want to buy it. The people arguing at least had a clue what they're talking, you guys are just hypothesizing something you have a vague image of.

If you want specific info about the game, you can ask, for anything else again just fuck off and make another thread please. You could buy the game or just rent it, or try it somewhere, and then come back to express how much you disliked what you saw, at least you'll look less stupid and have an actual opinion. Because right now you only have guesses and a dissertation about your own personal tastes, about which no one here gives a fuck about. "Seriously".

I swear, there's not a thread on this whole forum where you can speak about shit you're interested in without jackasses trying to ruin everything.

    1

  20. What's up with all the dumboes commenting in a thread about The Witcher 3 when they don't even have the game ? Please make another thread, maybe titled "Talking shit about shit I don't have -TW3 edition" or something. This is about the people playing it right now and exposing their opinion, not about people "not having it and not intending to buy it because of what they've heard".

  21.

I finally got to the Dandelion and Percilla deal, and in my game percilla is going to make a full recovery and could talk (and should eventually be able to sing again).....is that what you guys got or did I accidentally do something right for a change...?   :s   I've made quite a few decisions that I wish I could hit the do over button on.....I firmly decided that I would not do that for my first play thorough.

Nah everyone gets the same event, but I guess it depends on how you interpret it.

Still being forced to drink corrosive acid and having a hole on her throat, unless there's magic involved I don't see her being able to sing again anytime soon

    :(

The only thing Dandelion says about her recovery is his usual optimist banter, so I don't believe him for that, but the coroner says she'll maybe recover one day, but her singing again is unlikely (if I got it right)). Plus it was my understanding that she was disfigured, since looking at the other bodies you can see their mouths are a mess, the acid pretty much made their lips disappear, I don't even wanna know what it looks like in there. Acid damage on a tongue and on teeth, with that kind of medical equipment ... Yeah I'm a pessimist, but imho it's better that way. Fits more with the despairing tone of the moment.

Plus without spoiling any endings, they're all kind of bitter-sweet with more bitter than sweet. Really the story only has some cheerful moments but for the most part it's despair and gloom.

  22. LMAO !!!

I just did the quest level 30 "A Tower Outta Nowheres" IT'S HILARIOUS !

You need to open a barrier of energy in the tower to access the other parts, except it's closed off by a very strong magic called Defensive Regulatory Magicon,

DRM for short (LOL). To open it you need a book called Gottfried's Omni-opening Grimoire, in short... GOG !!! L.m.a.o...

And in one room of the tower, when you try to get the book to unlock the DRM, the security magic release some poisoned Steam (fucking lol) to gas you...

    Laughed my ass off...
