I got the recent weekly humble bundle.
Thomas was Alone = AMAZING. SO GOOD. Seriously. It's just rectangles, but they become characters you care about. It's awesome.
McPixel = I played it for four minutes and then uninstalled. It makes my eyes and ears hurt.
Botanicula = Awwwwwwwwwwww. It's adorable.
The Showdown Effect = We will see once I play it.

Hmmmm. I can see how it would be one that you preferred, easily. No worries if it's the one you choose. For me, it is a little too busy in some places, and I don't like how "harsh" it sounds. Urg, can't really describe it. None of it sounds "smooth," and after listening to it for a bit, I feel it would irritate my ears. But again, that's just me. Also, I'm a cheap ass and if I'm understanding things correctly, the ones from incomptech are free so long as you give credit, where you have to pay 17 bucks from the audio jungle one... so... XD But up to you.
Edit: To further elaborate, I feel it might be the wooden percussion instrument it is using that is making it sound too busy. I'm not sure. And who knows, it may be the anti-piracy measure they put into the music that is irritating me, not the sound of the actual music itself. Who knows.
Edit 2: To elaborate on "harsh." I really don't feel that a "harsh" feel in music is necessary in order to create negative feelings in the music, something scary, dark, and unsettling. In fact, similar to the blue filter, I feel that the harsh music makes it very black and white. "It's bad, period." Where if the music is softer, smoother, and has that trace of beauty to it, it can become even more unsettling, creeping into your skin with it's seductive sounds. Or maybe I'm just over thinking it, hah. It's up to you to decide.
Edit 3: I'm a huge fan of the violin/strings. Can work wonders. <3
Edit 4: And I'm excited to see what enemies made it to the game so far.

Hmmmm. I dunno. I kinda like the original's "The cold touch of technology" feel. The new, bluer look has a more friendly "you are the good guy, kill the bad guys!" feel, and in this game I'm not sure if that's what you are going for. As always, just my two cents.

PayDay 2
And I like it, not because its quality but because of it game peace.
I really like how game speed climax in this game ;D
You would mind defining it? It seemed to be very similar to the L4D series gameplay when it came to the pace of the action, in the few gameplay video's I've saw. To be fair, I've seen very little. It looks interesting, but I always found the pace of L4D to be too fast for me, for the game to be comfortable. But then again, it was a zombie game, and I really wanted it to be nice, slow, and suspenseful. For there to be a break inbetween the action and not just constant "go go go go go keep moving keep shooting" throughout the entire level. This is turning into a rant and I'm not meaning it to be one. XD I like the L4D series a lot, I just have my own personal wishes for it, hah. My point is, I'm honestly just curious as to the pace of PayDay 2. Since it's not a horror/zombie game, even a faster pace may still be quite fun.

Perhaps start a new thread? Like maybe:
Ladies of LoversLab! (No Guys Allowed! (except AwfulArchdemon
)The exclusion of any group allows only for the festering and growth of more ignorance and misunderstanding. And leads to hurt and broken individuals, who only wanted to be accepted and understood for who they were on their own, and not because of any one part of their being.

because it exist and every new member wanna join the little party, perhaps a bit of harmless man bashing in order. lul.
Bashing someone because of their gender is never harmless.

"I'll look around and see if I find any decent tracks, though I have no idea exactly what "feel" you are going for."
Hmm basically I need something on the scarier side, and given the nature of the game I was looking for something darker or more ominous, kinda unsettling/mysterious or showing a bit a fear?
Hard to explain music in words here so I apologize if this sounds too confusing lol. But again, thanks for the input so far, and please keep a lookout for anything good though for me will ya?

btw
Bio will be up tomorrow rather then today, I've got late night puppy duties again :/
No problem, that's pretty much the exact feel I was looking for as well.

That is a really great quote. Also just throwing it out there, TNG is by far my favorite Trek series.
Not only a great quote, but one I am learning is very true.

And damn straight. Hah.

I am re-watching all of Star Trek: TNG with a friend who is watching it for the first time. It's freaking awesome to revisit, even if it has some growing pains at the start.
And also, I know there are plenty of lines I could take and plop here, but I'll just post one that's kinda nice, from one of the most recent episodes we've watched.
WESLEY: I miss her. I feel empty.GUINAN: I know that sensation. But there’ll come a time when all you remember is the love.WESLEY: I’m never going to feel this way about anyone else.GUINAN: You’re right.WESLEY: I didn’t expect you to say that.GUINAN: There’ll be others, but every time you feel love it’ll be different. Every time, it’s different.WESLEY: Knowing that doesn’t make it any easier.GUINAN: It’s not supposed to.At least I see it as positive, hah. It's oddly both realistic and romantic, which I think is very warming.
Oh, and if you are re-watching the first two seasons, or hell, even if you aren't. I highly recommend reading over The Picardigan blog, with it's review/commentary of the episodes. Some of them can really be quite funny, and/or point out interesting facts about the episode. It's a shame it hasn't been active in so long.

Update August 11th:
Up for a little reverse this time, I actually got stuff done for once lol. Body Model wise, I got the nails done finally, though I forgot I still need to do the mouth, teeth, and tongue as well. Still hooray for being almost done! Also got the smart vision effect just about done so I'll add some pictures of it in action on one of the stock udk maps. Now I can check off both the night vision and the smart vision modes. Still figuring out how to do the thermal vision, but I'll get it eventually lol.
Coding wise, nothing new to report as he had to go to a family dinner party or something, so we'll try to get back to it sometime tomorrow.
I like the smart vision looks. Certainly looks high tech and very much of an upgrade over whatever night vision will look like, and I think that it obscures enough of the details of the world to make it interesting should you encounter a monster with it turned on. Though you will see it, you might not be able to make out every detail of exactly what it is, or is capable of. This is a good thing of course.

I'll look around and see if I find any decent tracks, though I have no idea exactly what "feel" you are going for.
Edit: oh, this one sounds nice. http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100587
Edit 2: And I will always prefer incompetech. Why? Because they have ELECTRODOODLE!
*dances*

It's a simple idea, but it works so damn well. At least for me.

So all these years, I've had this little tingly feeling in my brain, triggered by random things. I can remember it even getting triggered when I was in kindergarten or 1st grade or something, by listening to a classmate read. Instruction videos, people whispering, these things could just make my brain tingle.
I recently found out this thing has a freaking name. And that there are videos on youtube geared toward giving that sensation. (search for "ASMR") So incredibly relaxing.
For example:

A second positive thought. It's so nice, even for a "smaller" medical issue, to finally go to a clinic, talk to someone, and get a prescription for something. Just gives me some peace of mind, feeling like "hey, I guess this isn't something that is going to kill me in my sleep after all."

Guild Wars mostly.
Revisiting Age of Empires 2 and The Conquerers Expansion.
*Sigh* Oblivion/New Vegas still shelved due to my graphics card not being able to render lights and shadows. Oldlivion doesn't work with the HGEC Body-replacer (muddles up the textures making them look reddish) so I'm at a loss.

That's weird. I don't remember having the same issues with HGEC on my old laptop, using oldblivion. I might have segguested this before in some other thread, but in case I haven't, have you tried opening the console and toggling "tlb?" It toggles off all the lighting affects. Drastic move I know, but it made Oblivion playable for me on my old laptop. Always worth a try, if you're willing to make the sacrifice, hah.
Ah memories.

And to actually make an on-topic post. I picked up poker night 2 on steam the other day for 2.50. Not a bad little game, pretty amusing if your into that sort of thing. And Ash is a bastard who always has good cards, Brock is an asshole who almost never folds. XD

I was sharing some quotes with a friend of mine, on chat. (Some parts paraphrased-ish, to cut out unnecessary parts of the conversation.
Me: “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
― Albert EinsteinFriend:
You should remember that.Me: I guess it's possible that the fish could end up judging itself for not being able to climb a tree...Friend: yup
It's amazing what those close to you can make you realize about yourself. Also, I am slowly learning, and trying, to be a happier, less angry person.==================Edit, because I don't like to double post:A video that I find is a very beautiful, wonderful thought, about how amazing this world and this life is for all of us.
====================
Edit again, three posts in one, hah. Hell, it feels good to be making posts in the positive thought thread as opposed to the rant thread. Was watching the co-optional podcast, and heard this quote from someone else. Just a nice thought, about not focusing on the negative feedback you might get in life. Someone spewing vile and hatred at you.
"99% of the Internet has been nothing but nice to me, even when it’s a backhanded compliment. It’s easy to focus on that 1%. That 1% is vile, hateful, spiteful, jealous, mean, and would likely be as venomous in a public place as they are with a badge of anonymity. Many are probably teenagers who will grow up and learn to regret their ignorant actions, but some of them aren’t, and those are the people who scare me the most. But I can’t spend my day worrying about the 1%. I wake up every day trying to make the other 99% happy." - Patrick Klepek===================A fourth Edit. Why not. And I know, I know... I'm a horrible bastard for having something like this be in the positive thought thread... but I'm also a lonely bastard.
The college I'm transferring to used to be a women's only college. They've been admitting men for many years now of course, but the ratio is still very... uneven. 84% to 16% uneven. Or 79% to 21%, depending on the source.

In all honesty, I think people that are complaining about 3 is kind of missing the point of it. Yes, it was crap in comparison to the previous Saints Row if you look at it through rose-tinted glasses. However, I thought that Saints Row 2 was just another GTA wannabe and let's not forget that the original Saints Row WAS a GTA clone. Period. 3 was probably a breath of fresh air, a sense of craziness that gamers needed in a sense. However, it was completely unfinished given both the content and as well the extra DLCs attached to it no thanks to THQ.
I had Saints Row 4 pre-ordered and sticking to it despite it being a low-violence version given how things are in Australia. But I have no qualms I'll be enjoying this despite the removed and watered down content in a sense.
I get the point of SR3. Trust me. I get it pretty damn well. It hits you over the head with a giant purple dildo bat until you get it. And then it just keeps whacking away regardless.

All I know, is I'm just waiting (Hoping) for more... forced options to become available for the sims. Something that adds both a more organic, and dangerous nature to all the dirty mods. Sex animations are great, but it's not enough to make me want to play the game. It unfortunately never happened for TS2, who knows if it will happen for TS3, but what I'm waiting for is a mod that adds in rape content to the game. You have that, combined with pregnancy risk mods, could be interesting stuff.
To go into detail:
What I've always wanted is for someone to hook up a forced animation to the same sort of way that sims going and picking fights with each other works, or something like that. It makes sense in my head.
Put a bunch of different checks, different personalities will rape different people depending on different things. Some need just a large dislike, some need attraction and dislike, some just need attraction, etc. And maybe a check to not do it (depending on the sim) if other sims are nearby. Maybe add another check to where they will go ahead with the rape if all the people have a negative opinion of the person they are going to be raping.... or something like that. Have I mentioned I have wanted this for a LONG time?
I would love to play a girl who goes around flirting with guys to manipulate them into getting what she wants, but then flirts with the wrong person... exciting stuff, hah. Sadly, the closest I've been able to get to this was a mod for the university expansion in TS2, which made sleeping with your teacher give you a full bar with them. I never had to go to class.
And there are a bunch of other stories that have the option of being played out.I guess I'll just keep waiting, and hoping. :\

I'm debating getting CS:GO because... I dunno. Because. Any yays or nays in one way or another in regards to the game? I've been looking for a new competitive shooter. Planetside 2 is fun... but it's not the same as a round based, smaller, even numbers game. And that's GREAT. I love it for what it is. But it's not a competitive FPS. At least in my eyes. I debated getting natural selection... but the animations/gunplay looked like they were a bit stiff for my tastes. So CS:GO is an option. But at the same time, a game called Interstellar Marines, currently in Alpha, has caught my eye. I'm waiting to see if it goes on sale during the summer sale though.
Edit: Link to Interstellar Marines, in case anyone is interested. http://store.steampowered.com/app/236370/

The very first thread I read today made me laugh so much I started coughing. It's gonna be a good day.
So you take great joy in the minor mistakes of others, What do you do for leisure, pull the wings off flies or torture kittens.
Be nice and understand that not all people spell as well as you.
Whoa whoa whoa. What? No. >.< Just no. I greatly, greatly apologize if that's the way it came off. I thought it was funny. That's all. Not because "Hah! he made a mistake! He is so inferior!" But because, you know, "friendshit." Thulas's post was actually a good one, and I thought that a good point was made, and then I saw that instead of "friendship," "friendshit" was put instead. Maybe criticize me for laughing at something juvenile like that, but I meant no bile or hate because of it. Sorry, again.

Sometimes people misspell things. Sometimes those misspellings are funny. That's all. I think it's something most of us have done. I know I've had my fair share.

I can't seem to get the hang of SotSII; but you're right, it's very pwetty.
I loved the first, even if I only played a few games or so. I think Angry Joe said it best when he talked about how it really captured the "something more out there" of space. It wasn't just you vs the other players. There were a multitude of other strange, alien threats waiting for you in the void, grand menaces that could threaten any and everyone. In watching just a little bit of play from Sword of the Stars II, that's another thing that slightly worries me. It seems that some of the... personality of that has gone. In the first, when you encountered... I think it was specters or something, you (as humans, who I play as!) would hear your crew say "commander... do you smell something... sweet?" and it was AWESOME. All of the encounters had flavor dialog like that, that really made it feel like... I dunno. Like I was in an episode of Star Trek or something. In the second, again I'll admit I've only seen a little bit of gameplay, but it seems like it's just you encounter the specters. You fight them. The end. It's just another enemy. I know it's a small thing... but that extra bit of dialog of "There's something coming from the planet!" or whatever was said when the colony trap came up and snagged your ship just made the game feel right. That, along with the... ridiculously overcomplex fleet system... I just don't know. :\ What's wrong with how it was in the first? You have your fleet, and then you move it. Now it's "you can choose to send your fleet to attack here but you have to choose between the short attack and the long attack and if you choose the first one after one turn they have to return to the home base even if they win and if you choose the long one the same rules apply after a certain amount of time it's just 'nope' and they have to go back. Same if you want to colonize, scout, or anything else, what, you wanted to just move your ships around? Fuck you."
... wonder if there is a mod to remove it.
Mount and Blade Collection is on sale
75% off, I would recommend people to play that game.I played warband, it's an odd relationship I've had with it. I put a decent amount of time into the game... but at the same time, I don't feel I really accomplished a whole lot, or got into the "meat" of it, when it comes to the politics and what-not of it. Just rode around a bit, forming my own merc army, fighting for a lord. I've debated getting fire and sword and giving it a try, but meh... who knows. I feel it could just be a repeat. And I already have enough games to play, hah.

Well... seems almost everything in today's daily sale is something that's already been on sale. So... Kinda boring. Oh well, hah. Anyone find any decent "hidden sales" that are just hanging around, not on the front page?
The Deponia series is 75% off for the summer sale. It's on my wishlist, but still debating if I should get it.
Also, another on my wishlist, Sword of the Stars II is on sale for 50% off. Though I'm still not sure if I like the changes to the way fleets are handled, enough to where I'm not sure if I even want to get the game. But... it just looks so damn pretty...

Thanks. Sounds just fine.

It has me thinking... I wonder if it would be possible to take those dialogs and mod them into XCOM, rather than having the international fighting force with seven barely distinguishable english voices. Though that's going a bit off topic...

I really can't buy sh*t. I mean i have the money, but parents doesn't allow me to get my credit card

Are the steam cards available in your country? I saw at gamestop (Picking up a league card for my sister
I stopped buying games there the minute I upgraded my comp, hah.) that they have 20 and 50 dollar steam cards available there.I love it so much; it's almost as if they made a real-time version of a tabletop wargame.
Got a question for you... in the trailers, they have some radio chatter that sounds amazing. I watched about an hour or so of let's play footage, and it seemed that it is not actually in the game. Just the standard RTS voice overs. Is there any of that radio chatter-type stuff in the game? Doesn't really make me dislike the game, it's just one thing I would have loved to hear, hah.
Seriously, I have this radio station on my desktop. I love that shit.
Lets see...I have...one-hundred fifty-four items on my wishlist.
... Still.
