Well, I've been on the fence on purchasing it ever since it came out, hah. I'm attempting buy as few games as possible during the sale. Just what I really want/am interested in. So far: Don't Starve, Sleeping Dogs, and Borderlands 2. I might just use your post as the last little nudge to go ahead and grab it. (Though I was leaning toward that anyways. )

I probably will add an option to let people skip the tutorial (are you referring to the whole zombie combat part?). However, I am a bit confused about what you said ([dutiful, idealistic, quiet and trusting] pretty much requires I not be aware of the tutorial), care to elaborate? 

 

P.s I changed my combat system, so there will be more combat in the game.

 

I like playing naive characters who get in over their heads.  Call it "hard mode" maybe? 

 

Philosophically speaking: In real life, I learn from my mistakes. In games, my mistakes are not painful like they are in real life.

 

Anyways, you have put a lot of work into "bad ends" but also into failure mode gameplay which allows me to keep playing. But if I play the tutorial I feel all protective and defensive, and I am not inclined to explore failure states in the game.

 

This is near the limit of my ability to express how I am thinking, here. Is it enough for you? If you need further elaboration, perhaps you could feed back to me some of how I seem to come across to you? I appreciate curiosity, but I also feel like I would need to understand your perspective if I was going to address it.

Tell me if I'm wrong in my interpretation, but the way I'm interpreting what you are saying is due to the events in the tutorial, you, as a player, know about the future events awaiting Adeline, and as a result, the knowledge in your head keeps you from letting her make decisions as though she is unaware of the things that you, the player, know? Although I can understand this view (assuming it's the correct one to get from your post), the way I see it, it is only the player that knows this information. Adeline, the character, has no idea about the events that have transpired in the tutorial, and as such, she is perfectly free to act as naive and innocent towards the situation as possible. All she knows is that Christine is missing. Just how you asked, I'd like to ask the same of you, let me know if what I'm saying makes sense. I hope this is a somewhat accurate grasp of the situation, and that you can also grasp where we are coming from. But like Alako says, it should be no trouble to simply throw up an option to sip the tutorial. 

And for the record, I like playing naive, innocent characters as well.

Although it may be too much to ask at this point, really, it's such a difference, looking at the model like that, and looking at it fully textured, hair, eyes, in a natural pose, and all that stuff. I'm certainly not against any sort of stylized form, rather than completely accurate. Though I'm not against the latter, either. That being said, hmmm, sure, I wouldn't say that the suggestions for a smaller head, and possible wider shoulders are wrong, especially for the head, hah. I guess it could never hurt to look at both ways.

I'm not saying enchantments don't work. I'm saying enchantments aren't the primary protection, completely overwhelming armor. I'm saying armor is protection. I'm also not coming from a game mechanics standpoint, nor really from a "lore" standpoint. I'm coming from a view of how the world is, when I look at it. It's also not a player focused view. I'm looking at the world of Skyrim that I see, and all of the people, and stories within it. 

Similar to your question of having died from a sword or arrow. I'm not looking at it from a gameplay perspective. I'm looking at it from a roleplaying perspective, from the perspective of someone looking for a story.

I will never say someone can't have their own ideas of how their own stories can play out. I'm saying that it gets me pretty pissed off, seeing these posts saying that "I'm right, your wrong, everyone should see things the way I do." Maybe I'm viewing things in the wrong light? Maybe not. To this end another point we have to ask ourselves is, just what is this armour designed to protect against? 

Yes full plate will help you against other people, it may even aid you against animals and some monsters. (dependent on what ones)

It's armor. It's designed to protect. Period. There is a difference between getting hit on your naked flesh, and getting hit with an inch of armor protecting you, no matter what is hitting you, sword, axe, claw, fist, teeth, or fireball.

However I don't care how much plate you wear, if a dragon picks you up, puts you in his mouth and chews, no amount of personal armour will save you.

Also if he breaths fire on you, all your armour will accomplish is in turning you into a portable oven snack for the Dragon.

The only way armour is saving you from that is if we're talking power armour, but I bet even Tony Stark wouldn't want to climb into a dragon's mouth to find out, but we're talking normal armour so lets keep with that.

Dragons are not the common enemy, they are not what the armor is designed around combating. And in the argument of "You have two choices: Fire breathed on you while you are naked, fire breathed on you while you have armor." I will choose armor, thanks. If wearing armor "Turns you into a portable oven snack," then not wearing it makes you a hotdog held too close to the fire.

Unlike in our world, fantasy armour has to deal with more than just the human element, and that's where 'magic' comes into play.

When I'm hit by magic, it hurts. When I'm wearing armor and I'm hit by magic, it hurts less. And not just because of enchantments.

That's the only real way to explain away how I can live through being punted into a wall by a giant, trampled by a Monmouth or flame grilled by a dragon, is by throwing in enchantments, because if we're saying. "This armour is so bad and ruins my SOB because the cleavage window would let a well placed arrow or sword kill her dead." Then there is no way the same girl could live through any of the 1000 things she'd have to fight in Skyrim, even in a set of full plate.

No, it's not. All that's being said is, armor is protection. Wearing armor protects. Yes, even against giants and mammoths. Doesn't stop me from being one/two shotted by them a lot of times, because they are strong, and yes, they will kill me, even wearing armor. Doesn't mean I'm going to go to battle against them naked. In fighting 100 bandits, 30 wolves, 10 ogres, 1 dragon, and 1 giant, considering that the armor helps against pretty much all of that, I'm going to go ahead and say that it isn't exactly as useless as you would say.

If your saying one well placed arrow will kill her, then there is no way she could live through a dragon attack, any of his moves would spell her doom, so her armour would be meaningless, the only way she could surive a hit is if you bring 'magic' and 'enchantments' back into play.

However the moment you do there goes your realism.

Once again, dragons are not a primary threat in Skyrim. Even though you've based pretty much your entire argument around them. That being said, no, not every single dragon attack spells complete and utter doom. It just doesn't. That's not how it works. As for magic and enchantments, in a world where magic exists, having magic is perfectly realistic.

If the only way my girl can live through a dragon attack is to load up on 'Resist Fire' 'Reduce Physical Damage' 'Resist Knockback' and spells than can help her deflect/absorb the fatal blows, then and here comes the plausibility part. 

Why can't she just wear a losses fitting outfit?

If all the 'protection' is coming from her enchantments, then really the armour is only there to hold said enchantments, she can wear whatever she wants/find comfortable, even a chainmail bikini if she's so inclined, her clothing just becomes about what she can move best in, or how she wants to look.

Hell she could go out their naked if she wanted and just wear a lot of enchanted rings and necklaces.

It's not the only way. All the protection isn't coming from enchantments. Your view of mechanics and enchantments is not the way all view it. It certainly isn't my view.

The way I see it, if we're going by the logic that a single well placed arrow to the chest, or a sword to the neck will kill our characters, then there's no way they could live through anything a dragon, giant or fireball hurling mage could throw at us.

We'd have to rely on our enchantments to keep us alive and that means our armour becomes pointless, and in the cause of full plate, you'd be slowing yourself down for no good reason.

If you want plausibility then there you have it, in a world where swords and arrows are the least of your worries, and the only way to survive through a dragon attack is to deck yourself out in several different enchantments.

Then if you want to stroll around in a grey robe and pointy hat, of show off some cleavage in your boob-plate with an exposed midriff, go for it, after all armour is literally just preference at this point, it'll be your enchantments that keep you alive.

If that was at all true of the world. But it isn't. Swords and arrows are a serious concern still. And dragons are a concern for almost no one.

If you want your world, with your rules, with your stories, you have it. But I have mine, my world, my rules, my stories. - Fusers: Some sort of enemy that by itself is harmless, however, if you don't destroy it, it will combine together. Perhaps it breaks apart to be in feeding/sleep mode, yet combines to be in combat mode. It could be anything from bunches of small, worm-like creatures that swarm up into a writhing mass, or even as small as two different things, that combine into a bigger, more frightening foe. 

-- On that same note, maybe it's possible for the small, basic slimes to combine into either slime men, or wall/cube slimes? Maybe if a slime combines with a zombie, it turns into a slime man?

No no no, hahah. I can find out about the game itself, I just can't find out exactly what this legendary megamod is supposed to do, other than add higher quality/nude textures. And check the 7th post in that link I posted. That MIGHT be what you guys are looking for. Not sure.

I haven't even played the game, but I tried searching around just out of curiosity, to find exactly what the mod is. All I can find is more drama, hah. I'm not complaining though, it's an interesting read.

Finally took the plunge (Almost literally, considering how long I was in the shower) and shaved. Everything. Everything. (Okay, not everything.) What this is getting into, is not gender relationships (And I am very pointedly not getting into any of the things you guys have brought up, for the record.), but D/s dynamics. There is a whole community around this, and there are safer practices around it, and not so safe practices. (Edit: Or, people who are just plain un-educated when it comes to kink.) What's being talked about, are people who engage in the not so safe practices. From someone who is into all that, the rape-play, the using and abusing, the being used and abused. Yes, it's a long post. I would strongly suggest reading the whole thing, if you want. But, If you don't, I'll try and reduce it down to the part I'm talking about.

 Yes, this is the short version. Yes, you should still read the whole thing. No, I'm not crazy. That last part is debatable.

So anyway we go to the meeting, I see some familiar faces, and some newbies including some fat old guy, and this one particularly shy young woman about my age. I was like 26 at the time. You didn't have to go or anything but it was a nice way of meeting new people, or you could just go to a munch without attending a group meeting like I would usually do. I was tired though and felt like going home. Now I am usually observant but I missed something. My sub pointed it out to me. It was when everyone was getting their things and talking among themselves before leaving for the munch or just heading out. It was the girl with some kind of bad encounter, she was still sitting in her chair and kind of hugging her bag. Grant you there are also plenty of petty rivalries and then there's the political BS with the organizations don't get me started. I always kept out of that kinda crap. Too much ego... Overall though I met some really great people. Sadly while the core community tries to prune out bad apples with a vengeance they do exist. They are very unwelcome but that doesn't stop them. Whether it's pushy subs, idiot dommes that don't think things through, or the most dangerous entitled, and wannabe dommes.

 

Okay I gotta stop trying to remember details, and try to nutshell this or I will be typing all night. Anyhoo my sub being the bouncy, bubbly, whacky, ball of energy she is decided to go talk to the girl, while I was talking to the moderator about something. I think she was asking why I didn't attend many meetings or something, which happened often. Always had to BS my way out of those conversations, since I didn't want to say that they usually bore me to death. 

 

So yeah my sub, somehow managed to talk her into going to the munch with us. She noticed the Naruto key-chain, and well being total dorks we both watched Naruto. Funny enough this was the icebreaker. So when we get to the munch I mention Gaara is my favorite character, not sure if he still is or not, but he's up there. Moot point MUST FOCUS! Right anyway she loved Gaara too. Somewhere down the line it's brought up that I am trans, even though I mentioned it in my introduction, again no one pays attention. She asks questions about that, like, "you mean you were born a boy? But how? blah blah blah..." Then My sub almost typed her name again, starts rambling and interrupting me so I snap my fingers and say, "<insert my subs name> gag now!" She rolls her eyes and puts it on. We were in the back booth of a restaurant familiar with the organization. No norms could see us, so I figured no big deal. Then this girl seemed really curious about my relationship with my sub, like she saw that we both found humor in the gag thing, and that we got along, that it wasn't like I was the big bad Domme hurting her.

 

So after the munch is over we take a walk towards Penn Station. She starts to explain that she used to go online a lot and roleplay when she was a teenager. That she met her former master in one such RP. Basically what happened with this girl is she met some idiot who's only experience with BDSM was via online roleplay. Over the internet she became his r/l sub without ever meeting him! I'm thinking to myself /facepalm. Then to make matters worse she goes to be his "slave" in quotes in r/l. OMG /Double facepalm, but I could also tell she was really traumatized. She did mention she had a genuine interest in it all, but that she thought that the sub just had to do whatever the Domme wanted. I asked about safewords she said he didn't believe in them so she just took his word back then. /Triple facepalm  So instead of catching my train, I park myself outside of Penn Station and loiter with her and my sub. She begins opening up, and while the play wasn't particularly extraordinarily violent, there was no aftercare, and well the way she described it she basically let him rape her, because she figured that's how it worked. She thought she would like it but she didn't. She also mentioned something called Gore, apparently later on after she became her internet master this was the RP in question that fueled their roleplay.

 

Gorian stuff as I learned isn't uncommon but it's based on the idea of women being slaves to men, based on some shitty novels written ages ago, that some people are into. Her so-called master got her into it. Then when she tried to leave evidently he wouldn't let her. She wanted it to stop, but he then got violent. I mean this girls story was just tragic, but I'll be the first to admit she had absolutely no idea what she was doing, and acted foolishly! She admitted as much but apparently she was very insecure, because she was a little heavy, and this guy on the internet took a shine to her, and indulged her fantasies. She isn't to blame, she's the victim, don't care if she made bad decisions, she was also coerced.

 

Once again people Fantasy and Reality are two different animals. She didn't seem to get this, and you know what? I've heard about this kind of crap happening before. Hell just watch some day time trash tv, every now and then they have a story similar to this. Instead of research on BDSM, she read shitty Gore novels. Yeah that's really filled with helpful facts about a healthy D/s relationship. In the end she did wind up getting restraining order against this creep, and I know plenty will say it's her fault, but look while she made some bad decisions she was victimized. No matter what, when she started to say no to this asshole that she wanted out, that should have been the end of it. Instead he tried to scare her into staying and when that didn't work he stalked her. Anyway she was like 27 when I met her, I was 26. She met this guy when she was 16 in a chatroom, and moved in with him when she was 19. She said she lived with him for about 6 months before she left, and got the restraining order when she was 21.

 

This girl went through hell! The guy was 8 years older than her no less, so when they first met in that chatroom she was a minor. This could help fuel my point about how age when it comes to the under aged girl post too. About naivity, yes can be no. Not knowing better etc... etc...  The thing is this girl was incredibly naive and used by a total scumbag that I hope dies of rectal cancer! Now if some scumbag out there want's to blame this on her, DIAF! Look you take an insecure kid with no friends, and an adult coercing them and playing on their most shameful fantasies and accepting them, even after she's 19 you have a bad mix a brewing he had plenty of time to groom her. Yes she made poor choices, but the guy on the other side was in total control and loving it no doubt. It just makes me sick when people blame the victim, and she was a victim. She was still in therapy when I met her for for christ's sake. She realized she made really bad choices, but she really thought this guy loved her.

But most of all, making your own character and roleplaying them is a big part of what draws me to roleplaying games. Shocker, I know, and i'm not trying to be glib. I'm just saying that so I can follow it it with this; Geralt is not our character, and we are not really roleplaying in any real meaningful way. Even with 'defining choices' all you are really doing is steering the pre-set story of a pre-esyablished character down a pre-designed branching path. It was the same way in Dragon Age 2, but even as much as I disliked that game, there was character customization, very little pre-established history and I managed to complete it.

 

In Skyrim I can make a Hunter, and wander the woods admiring the beauty, and get attacked by a werewolf. I can choose to roleplay the sensible thign and run away; ending up in a cave full of vampires, and end up infected. I can then roleplay the characters struggle of whether to be cured or nor, and go on witht he character with that decision in mind. I can basically live my characters life. I can roleplay. Mods like Frostfall, primary needs, and better economy only enhance this. It has nothing to do with changing the world around me in a  big way; because how often does a choice made in daily life change the world? I'm not saying that choice isn't important to good story in a game, but its not exactly roleplaying, though of course it can be, and lack of choice can get in the way of what the character would do.

Reading something like this always makes me want to jump onto Oblivion, make a new character, and start roleplaying, hah. 

And yeah, I've never been super drawn to the Witcher franchise. But the current steam sale is making me want to give it a try. I've always been a bit put off by the "Look at how awesome, gruff, and assholish I am" characters (Like Dante from Devil May Cry), and I've always assumed Geralt was like that, from seeing people post that they didn't care for him. You can have rough, tough, asshole characters that are absolutely awesome, and not stereotypical, contrived jerks. But I dunno. Watching a youtube video or two makes it seem like he may actually be an enjoyable character. Enough to plop a few bucks on steam down and give it a try anyways. Still debating, hah.

--The kind that are stereotypical, and shoot down a tongue and grab you up.
-- A different kind. A kind of "bat," but instead of a "bat," more like a manta-ray, that detach from the ceiling, and float down to attack you. If they hit, their mass knocks you over, and they will try and cover you, like a fleshy blanket, and rape you. (I guess they get back up by slowly scurrying up the walls of places. Oh yeah, they could be on building walls too, not just ceilings. So they are kinda a "one shot" enemy. Could be neat.

- Kinda a combination of the wall trap, and the wall slime. A trap door. Looks like a normal door... but hmm. Maybe every minute or so, you see a drop of slime slip through the crack? So you can catch it... but you could also miss it... Could be green slime, or a more fleshy mass on the other side, but once you open it, tentacles grab you and pull you against the mass of flesh/slime and have their way with you.

- Snatchers: Flying creatures that will grab you up, and take you to their nest. Or a building roof or something. Could be more bird-like, or could be gargoyle-like, or could even be something like the flying monkeys from The Wizard of Oz. Yes I'm serious. - Beggar: For some reason, if you give this infected food items, it leaves you alone. If you don't have any though... Hell, could actually make it look like a begger-zombie. Thin, pale skin, long grey beard, yellowed teeth, brown, ratty clothes. Sits against a wall, and when you come into proximity, it stands up, holding it's hand out, palm up, slowly advancing toward you, doing it's low zombie rawr. When it gets to you, it may wait for a moment, and then, if nothing is given to it. (Maybe just throw food down on the ground for it?) It will lock on to you in a grapple/drag you away. A very strong grapple, as otherwise they are weak, and easily avoided. Most likely cause of capture will not be by getting out-done by them, but by "Okay, let me give you some food..." *Moves closer* "oh... shit... I ate the last thing" BAM! GRAPPLED BITCH.

- Fungus/fuzz balls/spores. They sit there, and don't attack. Raise your lust maybe? Drain your stamina? Either way, stay in their presence long enough, you'll be unable to move on... and then they extend their tentacles out and rape you! The fungus could even be less tentacle-y. Could just be actual mushroom-cock things, that make draw you in (Either just with the effects, or with tentacles or something once you get weakened) and impale you on themselves.

- Gentle Giant. Large, hulking creature. Maybe yeti-like in appearance. Fairly large. Will not attack you unless attacked. If you attack it, it will attack you. Maybe Allies come to help even? It roars? Hmm, maybe it will attack you if you attack ANYTHING around it? But if you don't, then it doesn't? Maybe it only attacks you if you fire a gun, (Loud noises upset it) but not if you just use melee weapons on the other enemies.

- Bagger. Similar to the snatcher, but on land. This infected forms a heavy, thick film in it's mouth/throat, and spits it at you, potentially immobilizing you, so it can drag you way.

- parasite bug (or slime), it attempts to attach itself to the player. Once attached, the player will suffer penalty such as increase arousal, slower running speed, increase infection rate, etc, depending on the type of parasite. Player can try to forcefully remove the parasite, but will suffer large amount of damage.
 
- Monster (Nonsense667)! He talks to you and make you wet! ( )

A few unique notes about this place: It's always raining thanks to it being the rainy season in Korhal atm.

 

A few unique notes about this place: The UnderCity has a Day/Night cycle, random rain storms (Which are hazardous to the player), and different enemies based on the

And the description of the campaign style, having it all laid out like that, sounds really fun. That sort of "left4dead but a sandbox instead" play style sounds like it should be fun to play around it.

It looks good, but I have to say, especially those last two images of your slide at the top, give the site a way too "sterile, clean" look, hah. Though you may be going for a bit of irony there.
