    Hey guys!
     

    So I wanted to let you all know I am not dead! Ya... so about why I have not been here...
     
    Well, first I built a new PC, even did a couple of videos with it, but then I learned my SLI was not working properly. After MUCH troubleshooting and RMA shit I had finally gotten it to work, only to have the backup drive I had Skyrim on go FUCKOFF. So I had to start from last backups, AGAIN.
     
    THEN I did one video on Twitch only to learn there was nudity that was reported, MALE NUDITY ( I didn't even know lol ), and so NOW I am in the process of fixing everything for broadcast, and that means starting from SCRATCH and building it right. THEN I can work on my mods again.
     
    Add the fact that my kids are home now and I have to go full time ( summer vacation ), and bleh, I don't have all as much time as you think. Yet I AM here and I AM working on things, even if it has been almost a year and change since I released anything. The best things come to those that wait...

    Hey guys, finally got everything set up! Got everything built only to find my upload speeds didn't hold up to Twitch standards ( by a long shot ) so I had to upgrade my internet package then wait a week for the new modem to come.Everything is set up and working fine. My new YouTube channel is also up and running, with my first twitch Live Stream ( of Skyrim ofc ) uploaded to it. I made a new one since now that I'm ready to do live stream / recordings / reviews of ALL games, not just Skyrim, I didn't think the YouTube channel ShaydowSkyrimMods would work anymore, so you will now be able to find all my newest videos at my new channel, ShaydowPlay, located here :

    Still can't really mod. Those shots are taken at like a 8 fps frame rate. I can't do much without fear of the computer exploding. GOOD NEWS however, State Tax returns this year is over 2k$+ , due to thankfull things, and all the money has been promised to me for building a new computer.

    SO ya, as I told you guys 2 months or so ago, I would NOT be around this summer ( in the USA ) due to 3 factors:

    1) My wife has a new WELL paying Union Job but has to work 1pm to 1am. This leads to 2...

    2) My kids didn't get to go to the Jersey shore and be with my sister this summer like they do every year ( she had her own damn problems, OK?! ). As a Stay At Home Dad ( Mr.Mom ), this meant I had to manage THEM a LOT more this summer.... leading to 3......

    3) I WANTED to be with my kids this summer. I spent time with them. We went out and DID things, forest walks, watching Ted Talks Kids together, discussing the very nature of reality, existence, and science. I'm OH SO SORRY I did not have time to answer all your questions / update my mod / help YOU fix your dumbass problems, I was a little busy loving my girls and trying to be a great dad and do my job. Did I upset YOU? Well, I really don't give two flying fucks......

    ON THAT NOTE : I didn't forget you guys either! Take it for what you will, but not just me, but my WIFE ( ladyJag, of LadyJag's Modest Celestials ) have been working on the mod every damn chance we get! What is DONE you ask? Oh I don't know.... how about a CELESTIAL MALE?! Balance passes? A WHOLE NEW ADDON THAT IS OVER 3/4 THE SIZE OF CELESTIALS and has about ( currently ) more then 1/4 of all the old things you guys have asked for?

    I could keep going, but I have no reason to. All I want to say to you guys is this :

    Celestials v8 will be released when I think it is ready. This will be harder since it has to be balanced with CelestialReborn IN CASE some of you DO NOT want to use the new addon ( Reborn ) and / or are using an older version because you liked those forms better ( don't worry V6 and BELOW users, I have NOT forgotten you! ). I will say this ONE LAST TIME :

    THIS IS A METRIC FUCKTON OF HARD WORK, and I took the summer off, SO IT IS SIMPLY NOT READY YET.

    Anyone who thinks that just because my last release was a few months ago, and that I have not been active over the summer, can take my work and claim it as their own, weeeelll........

    Fuck you. I will fight you tooth and nail. V8 will come when I think it is ready, AND NOT A MOMENT SOONER.

    I hope I made myself;f clear, and I hope you guys understand and look FORWARD to the things I want to give you.



    SIDE NOTE :

    I REALLY want you guys to know I don't do this because I want recognition, I don't do this for " download numbers " ( do you have any idea how many times I switched hosts just for you guys? I lost count of how many people use my mod a LONG time ago ).

    I make this mod for ME, and in some cases, my wife. It is NOT for YOU, all I decided was I had done such a good job I wanted to share it, and since that first share,well, the shit took off and now all I DO is share. I ended up working for all of YOU for something I made for MYSELF, and I DO NOT BLAME YOU. I am just telling you, yeah, that is what happened.....

    The end I can say :

    " I hope you like it, I really do. And if you do, that makes me proud of myself I made you happy, and if I made someone happy, then now I am happy. But if you DON'T like it, well, fuck you. I didn't actually do it to make YOU happy, I did it to make ME happy. "

    I hope this makes sense and you guys understand.

    Good new everyone!

    So I've just had TO much shit in my Skyrim install. My game has been running like ASS and started a near infinite C++ and or CTD problem. I've installed and uninstalled so many things I knew it was my own damn fault, SO MANY LOOSE SCRIPTS. Plus, my computer is not all that great, something I've never told you guys and if you watch my Let's Play you would be AMAZED when I told you what I was actually running my Skyrim on lol ( hardware wise ).

    So Anyway, I made a backup of EVERYTHING I had, and then proceeded to delete the SHIT out of EVERYTHING in my Skyrim Folder. I didn't just get it down to Vanilla, I broke it and deleted even more then I was suppose to ( had to let Steam fix it ). I even deleted all the stuff in AppData AND in the My games ( Yup CLEAN install ). I then, over the last FOUR DAYS ( yup it has taken me 4 days ), began to reinstall ONLY the mods I REALLY wanted and or I made myself, with only the most up to date versions of those mods if there was newer versions then I was already using.

    Ok, so where am I at now? Well I packaged up Celestials v8 AND ReBorn into shitty ass BSA's ( if you know about packing BSA's you know the main one that the CK uses is ASS, it leaves out a lot and has shit for compression ( read : NONE ). After that you can use the archive tool to repack everything, add in what you need, AND compress it better. I didn't do that yet . I threw them in first of course, and tested, and everything worked PHUCKING GREAT! It worked better then I would have hoped, sans some minor head issues I had with OLDER saves and characters, but that was also me missing a METRIC FUCK TON of other things. Overall, it couldn't have gone better.

    Now when I fixed my NEW install with Steam, I had forgotten that since I told steam I wanted it once long ago, that steam thought I bought it or something, and it downloaded the Official High Res Texture Packs for me. So my my first start up, was just official stuff and Celestials / reborn. That was it. I was a little taken back by what the game looked like, but thought to myself " don't worry, I can fix it ". So fix it I did, but NOT in a way you might think! See, I've known for a while now that all these high res textures on everything, some of them 4K, are what was stopping me from loading the game say inside a massive dungeon or in whiterun, I would always have to load a game from some small building like a shop or a house basement before THEN loading up that save outside in WhiteRun, but with JUST these options that didn't happen. I decided I LIKED that and was tired of the bullshit I put myself through, so when I was all done I started with some of my more baser options for the ENB I have been using, and reworked the WHOLE THING to make the OFFICIAL stuff look good! Not only that, I dropped the dependency on SweetFX AND I made 3 different version of it for low / med / high end systems! It came out GREAT and even making it look almost the exact same, hell BETTER then it did before with 4k textures, I even UPPED my FPS by 8 - 12. I couldn't be happier with it and it WILL be ready for release soon because dammit, IT LOOKS SO GOOD

    So after Celestials/Reborn and my enb all got installed, I move on to MY other works. Namely the one you guys all see in my videos and ask about, the SweetSkyrim overhaul. While getting this one all set up and working right didn't go EXACTLY great, I DID manage to see just what I needed to do to get it working from one folder to another, and that is now enough for me to think about getting it ready to share! It WILL STILL BE A LITTLE WHILE, but ya, it's actually a LOT closer to being ready to share then I thought it was.

    After all that it was simply me loading my first chance to save INSIDE Helgen, checking that everything worked, shutting down, installing ONE SINGLE MOD I wanted ( say SkyUI ), loading the game, checking it worked, configuring it, saving, shutting down, and moving to the next. Even if I wanted the mod, this time around I stayed away from mods I KNOW are VERY script heavy. Things like UnRead Books Glow, it's a GREAT mod, and I have loved using it, but guess what? That mod is script heavy. Not that the scripting is bad, or it is to big a script, it's not that, it is what the script DOES that makes it SO intense ( checks every book everywhere inside the cell you are in ALL the time. It works overtime is what I am saying ) that I won't be using it anymore.

    What does all this mean? It means my game is now looking great, running great, and working great. I cut my mod list IN HALF ( from 150+ to 70+ ), cleaned up so much crap ( about 20 GIGS worth of crap ), and it was worth it in the end.

    HOWEVER, for those of you that read this far, and maybe ALSO watch my videos on YouTube, I have some bad news. Because I did all this, MOST of ALL my old saves just won't load anymore, and I can understand why. Sadly this effected my Let's Play Series of videos to. So ya, I have to start them AGAIN, for the THIRD time! The good news is I plan on shooting them this time around with EDITING, not just me playing straight for say and hour and you watching an hour. I now plan to edit them down, so 2 hours of playtime may only be 30 minutes of view time! Not only that, but for those of you who have already watched me up to my last point in the Let's Play, I plan on shooting the new series up to that point BEFORE I release any of them, and having a link to follow in the first of the new videos directing you to that same point in my play time, when I release them ALL at the same time. So basically you will miss out on all the new things / changes / etc I have done since my last video, but in terms of what was going on and where I was when we left off, we will be in the same spot.

    Before I go I should mention that my wife won't be in my new videos as much as she was. She was in every one before, but now, she will only be in the ones she CAN be in. I don't know what to say, I don't think anyone actually watched them JUST for her, I doubt it, but she was nice to have with me when I did them for someone to talk to. You might want to expect longer silence periods unless I can adapt to talking to someone who is not there ( YOU ).

    So.... a blog entry about my actual MODS and updates about them and not me on a late night drinking binge trash talking things I don't like?! Who woulda thought!

    Anyway, as some of you may know I've taken the Summer off from modding. Not really because I wanted to, but I didn't have much choice when the Summer first started. Things are a LOT better now, my wife getting laid off ended up hurting us for a little while, but life can be sneaky sometimes, and now she has not only found a new job, but one that pays better AND she is part of a GOOD Union! Holy crap balls! Sad that she has to work 1pm to 12am . . . so once school starts again she won't see our kids at all except on weekends I'm bummed out by this, but there is not much we can do about it, and you have to take the good with the bad....

    ARG, derailed there, anyway, so I started working a little here and there when I can on the mods again, but I have SO much more then you guys realize going on in terms of mods I am making / working on / need to update / want to release. Let's just take these OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD :

    My Look replacer for : EVERY Vanilla Female, as well as Vilja, Soojie, Serana, and Ceriwden, and MANY of them Vanilla MEN being changed to FEMALE..... ( god this one is a huge job ).

    Those are just the ones off the top of my head. As I said, I always have something I'm working on, and right now I still have a HUGE amount on my plate that I would LOVE to share with everyone.

    My problem is, I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START!

    So yeah, if I ask you guys, I'm of course going to get " CELESTIALS! ALL THINGS CELESTIALS! " lol, but for that I now need my wife, she has taken over half of the workload from me, and she also said she was taking the summer off, and with her new job..... well let's say, it WILL get worked on ( I PROMISE ) but it's not going to be as updated as fast as it used to.

    The next thing you guys would say is " RELEASE THAT MOD YOU ARE MAKING I SEE IN YOUR VIDEOS THAT CHANGES ALL THE FEMALES LOOKS AND CHANGES MEN INTO FEMALES!!! "..... Actually, this one is "close" to being done, but there are NPC faces here and there I just forgot to export the data for, or that exported incorrectly ( results in mismatched head and body texture ).... so I just need to keep playing through the game and finding all the ones I missed / fucked up on. The other thing is, even when it IS done, OMG packing this mod will be SOOOO time consuming. You guys may not know it, but just getting everything structured and packaged for sharing as a mod takes a good amount of time!

    My added companions looks also count toward the above for the most part ( Vilja, Serana, etc ).

    So ya, that leaves patching my old works, releasing a new version of vampirelords, and my enb.

    Gods I have no clue where to start.....

    I want to preface this entry with this : I LOVE LL. I HATE NEXUS. Are we clear? I hope so, I don't want to repeat myself. Anyway, I have some rants that have been on my mind lately....

    Why is there a GENERAL, NON ADULT and ADULT section of LL? FFS we all know why we are here. Let's not lie to OURSELVES about it. I bring this up because in the GENERAL discussion section of Skyrim on LL, I see more porn then I ever would actually LOOKING for it online. The show your Skyrim counterpart thread on LL, has SOOOO MANY sex shots, I wouldn't dare let my girls around when looking at it, and ya that is in GENERAL. Should I complain to the moderators? I don't think so, I hate being THAT guy, and also, we all know what the site is about. So why is there even a NON ADULT section? This is what I have to wonder about.

    What about that time in this blog I showed off pics of me changing many NPCs looks, some of them men to ladies, and got a response along the lines of " your fucked because all you want is big tits " ( not true btw, I don't like giant tits in real life, they scare me. A handful, thank you. Everyone was just sharing the same skeleton and max weights, something I have started to fix ). So I look this guys post history up and see he is in to bestiality. WTF?! Who the fuck thinks they can judge ME on THAT when they want to fuck animals? Now, am I wrong for thinking this person had NO RIGHT to say SHIT to me? I don't think so, but this is the interwebz, and man, it's fucked up place. Do I LIKE bestiality? NO. Do I JUDGE others if that is what they are into? NO. I say that again, NO. That is why I am here. Hell the only thing I DON'T like about LL is the amount of " Kiddie " type porn / pics I see, and as a father of two girls, 11 and 6, maybe you can see why this upsets me, but I never say shit. Why? BECAUSE THAT IS YOUR SHIT AND I HAVE NO RIGHT.

    But again, while I understand the reason for LL, and it is one of the reasons I am here ( the other being fuck NEXUS, fuck anyone AT NEXUS, and FUCK NEXUS ( yes twice for emphasis ) ,

    If I go into tech support because I know a METRIC SHIT TON ABOUT MODDING AND I LIKE TO HELP PEOPLE, I don't want to see someone asking why their anal beads are clipping. That should be in the adult section. If I go into the show your Skyrim character thread in General, I don't want to see some little girl who looks 11 fucking a dog. I DIDN'T GO THERE THINKING I WOULD SEE THAT.

    My rant is over. If you think I am wrong, please by all means, leave me a comment. If logic dictates, I will be happy to shoot you down.

    So we are SO not done. We actually have a lot of stuff in the works right now. My wife and I plan on making an upcoming video highlighting some of the new stuff ( one of my Sneak Peak Videos ). know however, for the first time, there is a lot of stuff coming that I had nothing to do with! This is actually a great thing you guys, as it means I can work on one thing while others work on something else and you get it all!

    Doing STUFF

    So my wife and I are actually still doing things. We have 3 30 minute Let's Play's all shot and ready for editing. Everything about it has changed, they are short, I don't drone on but just PLAY THE GAME, all mods are working just fine, etc.

    These videos get to highlight some neat stuff for Skyrim players, things I have done they might really wonder about. My game is so changed and in so many ways I always wanted to share it with players, so I am going to start doing that.

    Stay tuned, it may still be a few days before you see one, but I am actively working on them now, and wanted to post here since I have not in some time now and give everyone an update.

    So ya, as some of you may know, I've been working on an ENB for a LONG time now. ENB's are a pain, and getting everything JUST the way I wanted it has taken me a LOOONG time. It also didn't help that every time I felt it was just about done and was ready to release it, Boris would release a brand new version of his d3d9.dll ( now at .229 ) and I would have to adjust everything all over again for the new options ( ok I didn't HAVE to, but why wouldn't I work with the new options? ). Lately I've wanted to release something I could put someplace rather than just LoversLab. Don't get me wrong, I love this place, but I wish I could share some of what I do with more than just you guys. Nexus has such a stick up their ass attitude that most everything I've done would make them shit on themselves in holier-than-thou happiness. My ENB I THINK fits all the exact criteria they require to release, and I'm hoping I can get some of what I feel is " good stuff " out to a broader range of people.

    There are a LOT of ENB's out there, and I've tried almost all of them, and I've had a problem with most all of them. Most are just too damn bright, oversaturated messes, or too dark, and make me feel like I should be playing a zombie shooter instead of a fantasy RPG ( don't get me wrong, if you LIKE that, more power to you, I don't ). Some look good, and are close to what I wanted, but maybe the DoF was WAY too strong, maybe the performance hit was more than MY machine could handle, and some of them are just plain SHIT. I decided to build my own for these exact reasons.

    I feel mine retains the original idea of what Skyrim should look like as a fantasy RPG, while not overly doing it. I wanted to just enhance what was already there and try to, well, just make it look better.

    Anyway, since I appreciate you guys that read my blog so much, as always, you get the first sneak peak! It's almost done actually, and you can expect to find it both here on LL AND on Nexus within the next few days. I want to take some more shots, need to get a bunch of dungeon shots I didn't get the chance to take yet, plus I need to pretty much outfit my character in something Vanilla otherwise nexus admin ( or "dicks" ) might yell at me for posting screenshots of something they have no control over......

    Not sure where to start. Finally got EVERYTHING working right after a complete windows re install a little while back. This includes FRAPS, all my multi sound options ( you think it is easy setting up a single PC to both export all sounds to TWO different headphones AND record from two different mics in unison while neither steps on one another in the same video recording? It's NOT ), AND I'm done with Goddess / v7.2 of Celestials....

    So now what?

    Should I go ahead and reboot my Skyrim "Shaydows Let's Play" or should I go ahead and do a new game? I so want to do some old Sega CD games, like Popfull Mail / Sewer Shark / Lunar : Silver Star Story, but I have no idea where to begin.

    I know most everyone doesn't give a shit. This is not a jab or a bitch, I get it, but damn if I still don't want to do them anyway. My wife (LJ, Or Lady Jag ), actually wants us to do some Nintendo games. Not sure how well that will play out on YouTube with Copyright shit however.

    So ya, my father died. He died a day before Seraphim's ( my daughter ) birthday. So he died, then there was my kids birthday, then there was Christmas, then there was well, now.

    So ya, Celestial's has been set back a ways. I should not have to explain why.

    So have not made an entry in a while. My bad, things have been a little hectic around here the last few months. Anyway I'm back on Track(ish). Some stuff that I HAVE been working on that WILL be coming :

    Animation Pack : after being asked about animations more then anything else on my videos, I told myself to get this out. So I did.

    Celestials v7.2 ( includes the Summons and the Goddess. Goddess is not just the form, she is a fightable NPC with her own Lair ). This is VERY close to being done and released.

    My ENB : Pretty close, it's good, looks good etc. My biggest problem is making the settings work with a multitude of different video cards / card settings in OS / Skyrim Graphical settings. If I can narrow these down just a LITTLE more I will release my Skyrim ENB.

    A reVamp of Shaydow's Look&Level : Well the "level" is out, but only because HR fixed all the shit they broke the last time. I did a translation, though I also modded that translation, so crap. Expect this to be released sometime after my next series of let's play Skyrim videos, as I expect this to be in demand.

    My ( newest ) HDT PE : I've seen some interest in this, so I will release it. My biggest concern is that it uses the newest HDT PE .dll, so I will have to answer my trouble shooting questions more then I will want. IRONICALLY, the changes made to the base XML included in the release are VERY SMALL, I'm just a fan of realism.

    Shaydow's Serana : Don't ask why I have not packaged this and shared it yet. Just to much other shit going on I guess. It is here on the bottom for a reason, it is just a minor thing, but a good one, that I will release when I get the chance to make sure it is all packaged and working properly.

    I can create intricate mods, write script, manipulate textures, etc, but I can't figure out how to attach a POLL to a fucking blog entry?

    I am uploading a new release of Celestials ( v7.1) as I type this. It comes in 3 parts since it is about 280 megs and LL only lets me upload 100 meg files at a time, so you will need all 3 parts to use it.

    *** FUN FACT ***
    If I want to include *EVERYTHING* I have done it would amount to ABOUT 4 GIGS worth of shit. Dawnguard alone is only 1.1 gigs. Think about it.

    I will no longer be using any other outside download source for Celestials other then LL.

    The craftable armors will be back later after I balance them and re-assign the slots so they all conform. I am really hoping this version of Celestials goes over well.

    I will be making a new video on my YouTube Channel with my wife. We will be playing Skyrim with Celestials v7 as well as some other wips again from scratch. Yes I am rebooting my own Let's Play, but for good reason. A LOT has changed. We will be doing 30 minute or less videos, showing off Celestials while doing a straight shot from the start of the games main story to defeating Alduin and nothing in between. Maybe after that we may play the rest but we figure at least 30+ hours of nothing but gameplay @ 30 minutes a pop should be good.

    I do NOT look forward to having to do the Celestial Threads Main Page again

    The only ones who will know about 7.1 until I DO DO ( I said doodoo ) the main page and update will be anyone who reads / follows this blog or downloads the mod for the first time. An unexpected early release.

    Bleh. I hate being sick. So ya, I caught the Flu and have been in bed most all the past week. Not some little ladeeda flu, nope, full on fever / vomiting / coughing / sneezing / fuck you flu. It never ends.

    So my wife, being the wonderful lady she is, thought to make me feel better she would get me ( and her as well ) a game I've wanted for a while now but we just didn't have the cash for, Guild Wars 2. This is both awesome, because I've really wanted to play it and now I can, and bad, because I really want to play it and now I can and I still have not finished up Celestials V7.5 for release :/

    Gonna try to do about an hour or two on Celestials every morning as I wake up and get the kids ready for school starting tomorrow.

    Some of you who follow for news on Celestials might like to know I have some ideas about how I want to do this release that will change up some things. First of all v7.5 will NOT have the craftables in it. Yup, I'm going to cut them all out. Why? I want to make them another option / mod. So basically, celestials will be celestials, that is, the race, the transformations, and the perks / balances. Then Celestial Armors will be just that, all the armors in standalone form, balanced and able to be crafted. Just like the armors? Get only Celestial Armors. Won't be wearing the crafted armor because you will be playing as a Celestial and mostly be in form all the time? Or just want to keep the download / install size down? Only get Celestials. It will also set it up to be easier for others to mod it and or add to it ( like a framework basically ).

    So we will see how long it takes.

    I've had less and less time lately to work on modding, but I thought I would share a little something something I've been working on that will be released " soon ". It's a Serana Mod. She comes with a brand new outfit, one that I converted to use the new Celestial Body, and her looks have been completely redone by myself. I personally think she looks great, though others may disagree. Anyway, below is a quick pic I took while running through Dawnguard I thought I would share. Let me know what you think.

    SOOOO, the ugly :

    The ugly is, I can't get the look and level overhaul I have been posting pics on to work. It's going to break your game. Note : I didn't do it. See, I think I mentioned I had the original idea, and started building the mod, off of a mod I had downloaded off of 3dmGames called SweetSkyrim by HR. Now I LOOOOOOVED some of the original NPC designs HR came up with, so much so I wanted to build a mod off it. Sadly, HR broke the damn game with the mod HR had SO many things changed that just well, broke the game. ALL NPC's are like level 300, naked, many that HAD to have the unique flag for quest functions to work right had it removed, etc. It actually baffled my mind when I looked through it, as I was " damn it, why in fucks sake did you even DO that?! ", with so many things. Now I THOUGHT I would be able to go through all this and fix them, but no matter how hard I try, I can't fix all the shit that was broken originally. There is just to much ( and I mean that, to much broken ) for me to be able to fix it all and not worry about it breaking my users game. So the ORIGINAL idea is a bust, and will NEVER be released ( you hear me hounders? NEVER. ).

    The Bad:

    Celestials V7 will PROBABLY not be ready for another 2 months OR MORE, so stop asking me. I DO have a life, and I AM trying to make some money off that life. One way I am HOPING to do this is to use YouTube to generate Ad Revenue based on Viewers and Viewer length. Now, I get it, you guys don't give a shit about my YouTube let's play videos, and even if you DID go look at my first 2, I KNOW the average AMERICAN view length is about 8 fucking minutes. So ya, no one wants the guy they WANT to make the shit they WANT to make any money, even when it costs them nothing. I got that. So I'm going to try and cut down on how long the videos are, to about 30 minutes or so from an hour or so, and I will be showcasing more of how to use the CK and NifSkope to create mods in upcoming videos. This is all very time consuming however, so if you don't like it, how about you shoot some DOLLAR DOLLAR BILLS Y'ALL my way so I don't have to worry about it, or you know, just watch the fucking videos so you can see what I am still working on and why, instead of just going " Hey I pirated the game and I WANT the new version of Celestials! "....... 'Cause ya, fuck you.

    The Good :

    Shaydow's Look and Level isn't going out the window. I did to much with the idea to throw it all away. It just has to be rebuilt, from the ground up, by someone who knows how to not break shit. The even better news is I got my wife to get back into modding with me and starting Skyrim again with only the mods I have installed. She will be playing through and as she does looking at Vanilla Skyrim NPC designs and remaking them so they look nicer and more attractive. She has plans to also design a " male " version, so she redoes what male NPC's look like, while I do " MY " version, where I basically change all men into ladies. The two will be plugins, as well as just enemy plugin, just TownsPeople plugin, etc, so you can mix and match as you like. One of the reasons the above " bad " will be taking so long, is for this reason. This is a big effort and will take a LONG time to do.

    BTW, if you found this offensive, I don't give a shit. For almost 2 years I have provided QUALITY work for people and not seen one red cent off it, and when I try to set up a way for me to actually make some money off it without it costing my users ANYTHING, they still don't give a shit. If your offended, ya well, so am I.

    So I finished shooting and editing the first episode of Let's Play Skyrim - Shaydow's Skyrim. I broke it into 2 parts, part 1 we review the mods that we will be using at the start of the game, and in part 2 we start a new game and go to the end of Helgen Keep. The whole episode is almost an hour and 20 minutes long.

    So I still need to render it, then upload the whole thing. That will take some time. I don't know how many people are going to be interested in Episode 1, but in Episode 2 I plan on firing up the CK and nifskope and opening Celestials and fixing a few things, showing what I'm doing and why. I'm hoping more people will be interested in that aspect and will then tune in to watch as as I create and then play \ test.

    Note that as I mentioned before, my wife will be special co - pilot for episode 1, to give viewers an idea of what a woman thinks about a mod like this. Note she doesn't have TO much to say however.

    Also, I mentioned before I thought my mic sucked and it was what I was worried about the most. Turns out it was just my sound capture settings, and I've managed to make it MUCH better then when I first started working on these videos. While it's certainly not professional sound studio quality, I feel it is good enough for what I am trying to do.

    Stay tuned, I hope to have Episode 1 parts 1 and 2 up by Monday.

    Heh so the other day I shot about 15 clips for the video I was going to make. Was going to splice them together then add commentary over it. Went to work on it today only to realize that while shooting the clips, my damn mic was on! Doh, so ya they are all ruined, unless you want to hear me coughing, talking to myself, scratching my ass, etc.

    So I decided to hell with it, and I'm just going to start on my " Let's Play " type video series. I will be calling it Shaydow's Skyrim, and I will be doing videos where I basically just play Skyrim. It will of course showcase the mods I've made and released, the mods I'm currently working on, and the mods I have installed. I want to show viewers not just MY mods, but my game, and how my mods interact with other mods to create a fun yet challenging game play experience. This isn't going to be your typical "Let's Play Skyrim " type of video series, where the player just plays Vanilla Skyrim and comments on it, nor will it be a " Skyrim Mod weekly ", type of thing. It will just be me sitting down and playing the game after I've made some extensive changes, mod, etc, and discussing those changes, why I did them, and showing how they impact the game.

    I don't expect the first Episode to have much " game play " to be honest, since I have a lot of ground to cover in terms of what's new and upcoming, and what I'm still developing. I'm also still not sure if I should just start it from where I am in my current game, or if I should start a brand new game. I'm thinking brand new games, but there are some issues with my " Look and Level " mod that can break the game at 2 points currently I'm still ironing out, and I would hate for viewers to have to watch me deal with that...

    Hmmm or maybe not actually, what's more realistic, the guy who just loads the game and plays with no mods and records it, the guy who just loads the game and shows off mods by splicing videos but doesn't actually play or edits out problems, or the guy who loads the game with mods and plays it? Hell we all know bugs \ issues \ random ctd are a part of Modding. Finding the cause and dealing with those issues may be a good aspect of the videos.....

    *EDIT* OK I just got done editing down my introduction video. Man this is more of a pain in the ass then I thought it would be. I actually started to to get frustrated today, I mean, now I'm head designer, graphics designer, lead artist, lead play tester, director, editor, head community relations manager, etc. I think I have just WAAAY to much on my plate. To top it all off no matter how hard I tried or how many takes I did, my mic quality just sounds like shit, and I sound like some kind of douche. I kinda wish I had some cool accent, like British or Irish, then it wouldn't be so bad. Nope, your stuck with a 34 year old born and raised NY Catskill Mountain resident. The only ones who will think I have ANY kinda of accent are those outside the USA ( aout 1/4 of my viewers ).

    So I've been reworking the ENB I shared on this blog a little while back. Hence why it was never released. On the advice of some testers, I've toned down the colors to not be so " vibrant ", so grass is green but not "popping" green, and completely re hauled the DoF ( depth of field ). I've always felt personally that most DoF's in Custom ENBs are either WAAAAY to strong, or built only for people who play in 1st person. As a 3rd person player, I never used them simply because they didn't really " work " for me, except in screen shots when I could angle the character in just the right frame for it to look good. I decided to build a brand new DoF from the ground up. This one works in both 1st and 3rd person, but was designed to keep 3rd person players in mind. Not only that, but I designed it to basically enhance the overall ENB, not just be something you turned on and off on the fly. I wanted it to be a PART of the ENB. I achieved this, or so I think. I made it so farther images are " softer ", not really blurrier ( all other DoFs I've used just make things in the distance blurrier, drives me nuts ), while keeping the central player and most of the closest surroundings sharper, and so feel more in focus.

    I also increased brightness of dungeons, since as was pointed out to me, there are plenty of mods out there that can make dungeons darker for those who like it, but most ability to control dungeons brightness levels are controlled by enb. I played with shadows and found a nice balance, shadows are now clearly visible but NOT overpowered on the character when viewing in 3rd person.

    I also hooked this one and designed it to use SweetFX, as well as d3d9.dll by Boris. This helped my achieve the colors I wanted to stand out ( such as grass ), while not making them overly vibrant.

    Oh and I also optimized it. If your a post tracker, you might have seen today some of my posts in the HDT thread about learning how FPS effects HDT effects. While there is a noticeable difference in sharpness quality over my last ENB, it will probably only be noticed by only me. After optimizing, the small amount of quality loss is far out measured by the 15+ FPS performance boost. In an area I was about 22 FPS ( and for the record, no, I don't have the best computer, it's pretty old actually ), Im now about 35.

    Overall, after all these adjustments, the ENB looks, well, massively different then my last posts. As always, I will of course attach some screen shots, and ask what you guys think. I really do appreciate the feedback I get on LL, it's why I didn't release the first ENB I made.

    Before that though, know that I plan to try and shoot my first in depth video, that I talked about earlier, tomorrow. I'm going to try and cover upcoming things like the new animation pack ( so people will stop bugging me about it ), new Celestial Spells, the new perks, the new Body ( also being bugged about, but I like that ), the new Shaydow Armor.esp addon that includes the guns as well as new armor pieces but will be my first addon and NOT a requirement of Celestials, but REQUIRE Celestials, and touch on some future stuff, some that you guys who follow this blog may have seen ( the NPC look and level overhaul as I'm calling it ), as well as never before seen stuff in development ( hint: think about what wings SHOULD do ).

    So as some of you who follow my work \ youtube channel may know, I recently decided to make my videos a bit nicer. My first step was to just learn how to splice the video together and do transitions and swipes, something you can see in the last 2 videos I posted. Well today I worked on adding Audio into it. Not just audio from say music, or sound clips, but my own voice, and not just MY own voice, but I also learned how to make it so both myself and my wife could comment in real time on my videos. This took a LOT of work, as you can imagine, but it will allow me to come up with some really great and in depth videos in the future.

    There is more then one reason I did this. See, I spend most all my free time, and as a stay at home Dad I have a LOT of free time with both kids now in school, doing nothing but modding Skyrim. I don't have a license, we only have one car, and well, a shit ton of people use my mod(s). I know Papyrus almost in and out, I know the Creation Kit like the back of my hand, I know NifSkope like I know the wrinkles on my own dick ( I.E : pretty well but I could probably study it a lot closer ). My point? I kinda want to get paid for the shit I do, like my sister does. Now, don't get ahead of yourself and think I am going to start charging for my mods, that will NEVER happen. I can't even ask for donations through Paypal on LL because it is an " adult entertainment" site as far as paypal is concerned and so they won't let me. HOWEVER, what I CAN do, and have been giving some major thought to for a while now, is do some " Let's Play " videos on YouTube or some such. With enough views \ likes, I can apply for revenue through ads from google on Youtube, and make a small amount of money off the viewers that come and watch my videos.

    The first one I have planned, though not a " Let's Play ", is an in depth review of Celestials V7, what I've done, and what I am working on. While I am not expecting a metric fuckton of viewers on it, it will be a good test of my abilities, and also allow me for the first time to go in depth with one of my sneak peaks. Only thing I am worried about is my mic quality. It's not super great, but not horrible either ( USB headset mic ).

    Long story short, expect a video soon of a more in depth look at the upcoming Celestials v7, with audio commentary from me, and a first hand look at how I create \ play \ balance my mods.
