Fallout 4! In like 4 1/2 months, its real.
sora3 replied to Gameplayer's topic in Fallout 4 General Discussion
I'd say no despite what people might say. Most gameplay would have been done on high end rigs in order to get the fluidity right. So I'm guessing the gameplay was done on high end rigs, perhaps SLI high end cards even. -

Nope, there's an option to play local which sets up a localised game only. -
(Advice) Currently contemplating upgrades for PC, input appreciated

I'll raise you Australia for that. Literally everything here gets hit with the 'floating island' tax. Doesn't help that we're the most expensive place for hardware... -
Er, not really. It will be on PC eventually. Honestly, if you want to know frustration and anger management, the first game will seriously test you.

ARK: Survival Evolved sandbox dinosaurus survival game.

It's actually better if you have people playing. Solo is quite bland as there isn't anything outside of trying not to die by dinosaurs, dehydration or hunger. There is a Hardcore option if you so choose but it's more frustrating that you need to recreate a character from scratch then trying to find your dead body somewhere in the region. So far, I'm up to lv 20 on one of the characters solo and 7 online. At least there are a lot of optimisations every week though. -

Not really I think. So far, she's been right for a couple of points, mainly the trailer release and as well as the confirmation of the next-gen consoles being the focus here. However, there are some points that doesn't make sense in a financial sense. 1) Using previous gen saves. That can't really work if the engine is totally different as Sandra said. Dragon Age and the Witcher series have been the only two series that use previous gen saves to determine the world around it. The only reason why they work is that they use an alternative method into importing the saves (Dragon Age Keep) or used the same engine underneath (Project Red engine). For Fallout 4, unless they are implicitly using the Gamebyro engine (i.e. Creation Engine), then I doubt her claims of a new engine is worth it. 2) Having a PS3/Xbox360 release doesn't sound far-fetched given the user base of those two. However, Bethesda has come out implicitly denying a release for the PS3/Xbox360 since they have already quoted by major sites that the focus was for Todd Howard and his team to maximise the potential of the next-gen. The last we've seen a large scale game on a previous gen was Destiny and that was heavily compromised even now. 3) It doesn't really make much sense that we're restricted to one character. All Bethesda games has had the freedom to choose what our character was and this change will certainly be a sticking point. True, you can point towards the Witcher as a main factor but then Geralt has been the main focus throughout the 3 Witcher games, a pre-built character introduced from the get-go. Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to highlight some points against Sandra's post. And another thing I wanted to highlight that by doing this, she's actually making it harder to be employed. Most employers would have done a background check and these things isn't really enduring. I know as I've been on the end-result of this once. I won't explain much in detail but you're free to PM me about this. -
Yet another Steam thread demonizing LL and sexual mods in general.

Honestly, I think he's really bitching about himself. After all, why waste so much effort to troll a minority when he's probably secretly wanting this... -
That's because of the thing that is between the chair and the keyboard. Honestly speaking, could we just get away from the NSA spying/espionage thing as this is getting old. Yes, there are backdoors OSes have. Yes, we can't really detect everything. No, we don't have to get all panicky for it.

Could we not focus on the rumours that one POTENTIAL employee spread? As noted by Nixea and others, development can change at whim. And honestly speaking, I'd more inclined to listen to Todd Howard or Pete Hines than her. -
Trying to decide on a pc build for fallout 4.

I'd wait until Windows 10 comes round. Some have noted that Windows 10 has given them a boost in frames in some games like Project Cars and the Witcher 3. Also, the reason I'd wait would be to see if the Radeon Fury would lower prices. If the Fury does beat the 980Ti, then expect cuts to match it. -
A little warning to mod creators of non adult mods....
sora3 replied to LordNecris's topic in General Discussion
@Yami, not really. That discussion went out the door much earlier in the post. If you don't believe me, check the earlier posts and you'll find that. Here, I'm trying to be rational but people aren't which is the frustrating thing. @hayley, nice reply since I don't care much about your 'maturity'. @ zor2k13, that is very worrying too. If a mod is compromised with a virus, then it is a big disaster. -

Honestly, I'm having a hard time believing a lot of the comments here. Those that complain and bitch about mod authors should be f*cked over, that's the kind of attitude that doesn't help the community. Not mentioning names, you know who you are. We should be finding a solution that works on both fronts, not being f*cktards that you are. /rant With that out of the way, if Valve implemented something like the Humble Bundle where you can choose the percentage of how much each party gets, would that be better? I'm trying to start a rationale discussion instead of flinging shit like some people are. -

sora3 replied to LordNecris's topic in General Discussion
Steam generally doesn't have a lot of shitstorms as compared to Sony and Microsoft from what I can recall. This is the first time I've been generally disgusted at Valve. Forbes puts it rather well that this is a legal and ethical disaster. Any goodwill by the community has been broken by infighting and toxicity by the community itself. If Bethesda or Valve really value their goodwill, they should realistically scale it back to a donation system. That's probably the best way to go. If they continue, then I fear that the PC modding community will be reduced to nothing in the end. -

I would say that what you said above could be possible. But given how Bethesda practically shat their goodwill with this move? I somewhat doubt it. -

@Chikage, Thank you for that post. I was wondering when this would happen. @ zippy57, that is a big concern if everything had to go through Bethesda and Valve as I don't really trust Valve with anything other than full retail games and DLC. -

After thinking about it and mulling over the videos that Gopher and Brodual put up about mods being monetized, this is my opinion on the matter. Bear in mind, this is just an opinion, not a fucking fact like someone likes to put forward. Let's get the basic fact out of the way, it's not a fucking good idea. True, this will split the community into two factions, one that pays to mod and the other who doesn't want to pay to mod. Others on this forum already have indicated their distaste on the matter, both strongly or with trepidation. And I agree. Mods shouldn't need to money to work nor be available. I can understand if the modder does something complete new with Skyrim like completely overhaul the shitty base and make it similar towards the Witcher (I dunno). Then in that case, I support that move. However, most of the paid mods that are on the Workshop are essentially mods that have been free since the beginning. Chesko's Arissa, isoku's Wet and Cold plus iNeed. Potentially, that does mean more mods may become this structure and it isn't the way to go. It is a short term solution that will become a very very big problem in the future. What might be stopping me from donating the money, downloading it then repacking it to be pirated on other sites? Only Chesko has come forthright about his intention and kudos for that. Others are remaining silent which is rather worrying and honestly, it is these modders that I'm considering banning their mods. However, let's look at the flip side of this. For many, the mods are quite complicated and time-consuming. Unless there is a potential reward, it seems pointless to continue to offer a free service. For those that might scoff at this, let's consider a sport that initially was free-to-air. The service was rather average given the number of ads, uses standard definition and there wasn't much action when they broadcast it. Now, consider another station picks it up and changes it to be pay-to-view. It sucks but then the station offers the service with no ads, high definition and as well as the ability to watch wherever you are. Then that might be an incentive to continue supporting the sport. This is no different in this matter for modding. These people has essentially put a lot of time and effort in this. There are some that will scoff and bad-mouth it, fine. That's your prerogative. For me, it might be worth the money if the people that doesn't want to pay also get supported as well. There is no free lunch in this world, and some that are scoffing, you should know. All in all, I'd say that this will make-or-break modding for Bethesda games really. I'm leaning towards no but that doesn't mean I will not support some of them just because they went for the money route. -
What really pisses you off? please no posts about nexus lol

Try playing Warhammer. It's a shitfest really. -
Not possible even it was true because of the way the x86 licencing works. Recently Intel had given AMD money plus the x86 licencing in return for [partial] use of the AMD64 instructions as per the settlement AMD launched on Intel. However, the cavet is that if AMD does get acquired by an external company like the above, then the x86 licence is nullified. And honestly, I think Intel will want AMD to still exist, even if weakened like so.

I'd wager that the Steam Workshop is okay since they are not intending on making money on the matter. Hence the reason why so many assets are on other games. Also, I'd wager the original owners are okay with that as it helps promote their game. However, I'd think that it won't be long until some companies start clamping down on such matters.

Unfortunately, this means W3 will have to wait since the requirements are way too high even though I meet most of the minimal requirements except for the CPU. From what I know about CD Projeck, most of their games are awesome to play but require a lot from the PC. Same thing happened with the Witcher 2. Awesome to look at but was a bitch to run when first launched. Now with the v2.0 patches, it's a lot more smoother in many places and the graphic drivers caught up. So until the patches come out, I'll probably give this a miss which is good since I'm most going to be playing Destiny, Bloodborne and finish DAI before I start this.

Divinity: Original Sin and Max Payne 3. Probably should finish Dragon Age: Inquisition later and then Destiny if I'm really bored.

SexLab Amorous Adventures [v2.08.01] (2015/11/09)

Just a few suggestions I'm probably going to be shot down for but here goes: 1) Have you considered a possibility of opening more couples to comfort just like Gerdur? I did study the Norse culture which was used as a basis for the Nords and it is generally accepted that couples were open to additional sexual partners if they are both comfortable with the idea. If not, check out the History Channel's Vikings and it is pretty much very open for a small society, so perhaps more so in Skyrim. 2) In Dawnstar, BI'm quite interested in Beitild. She seems to get the worst deal out of the bunch so perhaps a small mod allow her to help get rid of her husband, through trickery or murder, would balance out the Brotherhood contract? 3) Perhaps change something in regards to Alva offer you to be her pet instead of Hroggar if you killed him? I always felt that Alva was too under-developed during the quest so something in that regard might help. 4) There are some other ideas I might have but I need to see if they work in a sense so I might research more later. -

The new version is definitely a lot better. Have you started using the C++ function yet? Or is that still in the pipeline? -

So far, I've tested the mod and it looks good. You just need to clean up the running of some of the scripts, especially in a large area where there are multiple targets. I'll have to retest later and see if this was because of my system or something else.
