Chinese like everyone else will not pay for something when free versions are provided, however, Chinese gamers are willing to pay for this merged pack because: 1. As shown on this board it is not a trivial task to get all these mods with multiple dependency and each in different stages of developments working smoothly together. The Chinese merged mod packs make that task easier for users. However, localization and mod merging is not a walk in the park. Ashal is reaching out to the Chinese community represented here to make the task easier and provide a bridge between users in China and mod authors based here. 2. Due to the way these Chinese game sites operates it is almost impossible for users to get technical support for Skryim mod even if someone is willing to help in their own language. A merged mod pack not only lowers the need for technical support by reducing the chance of incompatibility between mods within the pack but also that if you are charging for something there is implicit understanding that some form of support will come with it, support that currently no one is providing. This is the grey area that moderators at 3DM wants to be in. While they publicly disapproved charging for content they don't have problem being a conduit connecting people who are willing to pay for support of illegally or unethically obtained content. They come out looking all "proper" and still get all the traffics. Boycotting or starting a flame war at 3DM are terrible, terrible ideas because the demand is there and LL content is open. Worst, 3DM can easily report LL to the Chinese Great Firewall and have LL blocked (legally they should just like UK, Singapore and many other developed countries blocking porn). My understanding is that strong support for LL at 3DM by authors and most of its rational user base has already led to quite a few trolls waving the nationalistic red books and slinging muds at those defending LL there. Only the bad guys win if the outcome is that China is cut off from LL and 3DM and others like it get to corner access to LL mods even more. Putting out the welcome mat to Chinese authors who wish to work in a collegial environment and matured user base here is the best option for everyone.
