I want a no fast travel mod

That should be doable though, because you can put in enablefasttravel 0 in console and it disables it. So while I know nothing of modding, shouldn't need GECK for something already doable in game. However, leaving it disabled may require GECK, I don't know. Cause I have to keep putting it in every time I load a save, which is a bit annoying.0 -
well, I'm not gonna come here and rant or complain about the game anymore past this post
but first game on steam where I got a refund
i put the money into steam wallet, since I had 17 hours of game time (except most of that was afk, I only had 6 achievements), so figured I'd have a better chance with a refund to steam wallet. worked out. and there are other steam games I can get anyway, once christmas sales hit that i want to get.
I'll just say, i liked fallout 3, new vegas, skyrim (except I didn't really like skyrim that much...i liked...) and oblivion way more.
I will say, don't go in expecting it much like an RPG. It felt less like an rpg than even skyrim did to me. way too much like a borderlands experience to me and I hated borderlands, and I don't like fps games that much either (I did love fallout 3 and Nv though). I have a ton of issues with the game that not even skyrim had, but i'm not gonna go into a long rant about it lol. and this is speaking vanilla wise, no mods. Fallout 3, new vegas, sorta skyrim and oblivion were all fine without mods (at least to me), but fallout 4 is not my type of game at all for my reasons.
anyway, glad people find it fun. Doesn't look like its getting good reviews in general, but looks like there are a lot enjoying the game still, but I'm not gonna review the game anywhere, don't feel the need to go around complaining. This will be my only post about it unless people ask questions or something about it. Unlike i sorta did with skyrim, i'm not gonna sit around a fallout 4 discussion forum (I'll still check up and post things or answer questions) throwing poop at people that like it...don't want to ruin peoples fun lol. I just wanted to post a useless opinion of the game, so now I'll move on. Not like I lost money lol. I got the money back (well into my steam wallet, but all the same, it probably where it end back up anyway lol).I will say, fallout 4 artstyle makes the graphics look amazing. Not once did I ever want a lighting or texture mod, for a first in a bethesda game. i love it just the way it is. it really looks amazing the way they made the lighting/art.

Its very FPS feeling to me, but I kinda expected that before fallout 4 was even announced and don't really care.
but, fallout 4 is so different feeling than any of bethesda's other games that its almost not even like a bethesda game lol.
The pacing in the pre-war and vault were good, but suddenly you can (i don't even rush through games and pick everything up, everything...)join a faction within 20 minutes of the game, power armor within 5.
But everything is so un-bethesda like. its not even like skyrim at all, nor like fallout 3 or new vegas. another company could have made it for all I know lol.
I think its cause the pacing is so wacky and fast paced, the entire game is so fast paced, almost all about combat, not much in the way of finishing missions sneaky or different path, it all is focused on only combat, not like past games where there was multiple ways of doing a mission/quest. there is barely any speech option at all either.
I really enjoying the fallout 4 experience, but its the least bethesda-like game I ever played lol, and its made by bethesda.

Do you have any mods? its a new game, so any mods could very likely cause issues. This happened in Skyrim as well, had to wait a while to mod it. Since fallout 4 was just released, any mods are gonna likely have major issues and will have problems down the line with being incompatible with patches and dlcs.

What about ariel and isabella? isabella is in the top ten names last i looked. and ariel is another name I use a lot, but not as common I don't think

no rush, since its good to get a patch out in at least mostly good working order. just curious when you think the next update will come out? like a rough time or something. been watching the thread for it to be released, but maybe i should do other stuff instead of looking every 15-30 minutes lol ;p

13 minutes ago, Aliris said:I also had to mod the minor titles base file to allow you to appoint female commanders as Lilithian.
guessing I just put that in
common\minor_titles
?

no, just the base game and you're mod. However, I don't have horse lords expansion yet and I don't have way of life either (getting it tomorrow if its still on sale). Could that be an issue?

It seems on reloading my save game, all the big breast daughters turned into flat chest.

Personally, I ruined skyrim with hundreds of mods. I lost all enthusiasm to probably ever play again.
I should have treated Skyrim like Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas. get 50 mods at most, almost all gameplay mods (one or two overhauls at most), new lands and quest mods and have a fun as hell time playing. I still play Oblivion with around 50 mods and its a blast. Same with Fallout 3 and New Vegas. With Skyrim, I modded it way too much and will probably never touch it again because of that. And the sad thing? I never beat the main quest or did any of the DLCs in Skyrim because I got too much into modding it. And I'll likely never play Skyrim again. And that is with 1000+ hours played according to Steam, pretty much all of it modding it.
I'll play Fallout 4, get 50 mods at most and play it for more hours and longer than Skyrim and actually finish the game. Like I did with Oblivion and Fallout 3/NV.

Its still around. I posted a link to it once and it got deleted and I got a warning off of it lol. The problem isn't the race itself, but the armor/clothing the creator did. Guess the armor contained nude meshes, which is kinda weird. But the race itself is fine as far as I can see. And I got an amazing looking character out of it (I heavily modified the race though). But, I had to use custom armor cause the armor that comes with it is...not my thing lol.

One screenshot, but its a good one (to me anyway)

I think that what MrFriendly want's is stuff like this

But unfortunately, the guy that posts these pictures has not released the anime-like textures

I want it

guess everyones eyes are different. I like that WAY more than the vanilla textures and lighting. And it will run a lot better on my PC than overloading skyrim with my realism graphical mods and still look really nice.
I'm personally really looking forward to his Skyrim toon texture mod. Looks nice (to me) and will give a pretty big FPS increase.
(edit: Its probably cause I actually like cartoon-like graphics/art style more in games than realism style. I like both, but I like anime/cartoon graphics more. So its probably why I like the textures the guy did more than what Skyrim (vanilla) has.
No, it's not about being cartoony, it's just completely lacking detail of any sort. The two designs are not mutually exclusive, that just looks like a cheap indie game you'd find browsing the Steam or Xbox Marketplace bargain bin, or something slapped together on a tight deadline for a competition.
Just look at games like Zelda: Wind Waker or Jet Set Radio Future, you can't just wipe away all the details and call it a day.
Well, to me it looks better than vanilla Skyrim. Not nearly as good as my modded Skyrim, but I'd get a huge FPS increase and it looks better than vanilla (to me). Guess like I said, everyone sees something different.
Then again, I still think VANILLA WoW looks better than most modern MMOs which aim for realism

Those are kind of less "cartoony" and more "we ripped all the textures off of everything and left only the base colors".
Like cel-shading, except ugly.

The guy behind RGX mod is very helpful and nice. AND he doesn't force any College quests on you in order to get to the new area. I have no doubt that Summerset Isle took insane amount of time and hard work to complete, but forcing someone to do the entire CoW questline can be immersion breaking or just straight out annoying. Something tells me that posting this in the SI comment section isn't a good idea.
I'll download RGX today, it looks more fun and definitely less annoying to start. And it has pirates. Everything is better with pirates.
thats actually not a bad thing. unlike other quest mods, you arnt just handed another one as soon as it's installed, you actually have to do something for it. and being the arch mage plays into why you get the quest.
The guy behind summerset is definitely kinda rude, or at least he comes across that way in the nexus comments. He'd probably get you banned if you report any bugs lol or just say its your fault. That happened to me in one nexus mod, I reported a bug to the epic gameplay overhaul (who seems to be family of one of the mods on Nexus) and got banned for 3 days for harrassment lol. But probably because I first made the comment on his mod and he deleted it, so decided to private message him (even though the bug 100% came from his mod, and a month or so later he fixed it rofl)
If you compare to the guy behind RGX redguard mod, he is really helpful and you can tell he is a lot nicer and more willing to help people.
I haven't tried summsetset though yet. It looks good, but having to use fast travel is kinda unimmersive and I hated it when bethesda put it in...I always leave it off and have it disabled through other mods. None of the other new lands I ever had to use it, but ah well.
I like the look of the Redguard mod a lot more, and the author is a lot better. But, Summerset looks good too from what I've seen on the mod page.
i deleted my post, but the one on Nexus wasnt, he moved it to the spoiler section, since i had mentioned a quest others may not have done yet.
and wait.. you have to use fast travel?
I guess so, according to his comments and his post page...fast travel must be active. Either he has scripts that teleport you around through fast travel, or something...but it isn't just for the opening quest.

No problem.

Overall, its like I had Windows 10 the entire time. I have all the same programs, same settings...everything. Even my mod order/list for Skyrim (most important folder on the PC
) is exactly the same. The update didn't take long either (at least with the media program)...took about an hour...not bad at all. And after that, my PC was as good as it was before. As far performance on games. I haven't played any games today, so can't say anything about that. But most people say they get a big performance increase.

I am just waiting for my turn to download Windows 10. They do not allow everyone download it at the same time so it could be any day now. We got it installed that way on a work computer last week. For Skyrim and other games I hope for the best. I am a bit worried for my older games like Neverwinter Nights 1&2.
Check (and anyone else still waiting) windows update history. Mine (and many others) have many failed Windows 10 updates. I waited a while to find out I was one of the first to be able to upgrade, but windows failed to update properly
Do this if that is the case:
https://www.reddit.com/r/windows/comments/3eyrre/fix_for_the_80240020_error_when_trying_to_install/
I had to download the media program thing and never had an issue downloading/updating. I recommend disabling automatic driver updates once windows 10 is installed (don't do the other things)
http://steamcommunity.com/app/730/discussions/0/541907675759699155/
Its step 2, skip the rest of the steps
Then update Nvidia drivers manually. Windows 10 doesn't update Nvidia drivers properly.
If you have AMD, they don't tend to be as much of an issue with Windows 10 for most people.

It is developed better than alternate start.
Alternate start: NPCs (this is VERY obvious in Riverwood and Whiterun) repeat the same static motion over and over until you start the Helgen quest. There is bugs elsewhere too if you don't start the Helgen quest. Also, the entire Riverwood breaks and NPCs get bugged as hell if you start the Helgen quest at NIGHT (day time is always fine). Might be a vanilla Skyrim thing though, cause Bethesda thinks helgen can only be done in the day as they designed it.
Alternate start pros: The starts are vastly better, except meaningless because you still need to be a Dragonborn...but like you can start in Solstheim, be a Thalmor agent or all kinds of starts...so a lot better there
Unbound: NPCs aren't broken in Riverwood and not repeating the same scripts over and over. No obvious bugs in the game world. Performs a lot better
Downside: The start you can choose from a selection of very boring options. Nothing cool like starting in Solstheim or as a Thalmor agent. But much better developed overall
Thats my opinion of the two. I use alternate start, just because I like the starting selections. But Unbound is VASTLY better, it just as boring as hell starts. But at least none of the NPCs are bugged until you are FORCED to do the helgen quest to fix them lol.

Nope, it keeps all your files when you upgrade

Is there any other upload site that gives you 50+gb of free upload space?
0 -
Yeah that does suck. There isn't another file host that gives me 50gb of free database usage
Well better make sure I have everything backed up

TES5Edit I couldn't figure out with it, CK was easier. A lot of the edits in alt start.esp are a bit weird and not the most organized to me lol. CK has the option to see "use info" so I can easily find the correct entry. But heck, most of the start quests aren't even named properly in the .esp and named something unrelated lol. Not how I'd have done it, but whatever lol.
Starting as a High Elf each time I start a new game (which outside of my vanilla experience where I beat the main story on one character, I tend to mod and start again lol). That would take more work to do in the long run.
Plus, when I share my compilation and my save file...if my friend and anyone else I give the mod to (there are a few compilations around on the net for Skyrim, but I won't be posting it here lol, mods here don't like compilations
), starts up...I don't want them having to jump through hoops and do a bunch of in-game console stuff if they want to start in Solstheim. That would be more annoying for them than it is for me having to open console and do all that shit lol.

The good, the bad and the ugly of Fallout 4 after 7 days
in Fallout 4 General Discussion
Posted
Well, I did make a post already. But I've kept trying to play because I spent 60 dollars and didn't want to feel like it went to waste (I got a refund from talking to support chat/email (well he said it would be accepted), but then they decided NAH no refund too many hours played lol. oh well, guess its a huge lesson for me to never buy first day or pre-order no matter what company is behind the game (as bethesda is generally one of my favorite gaming companies)
Onto my final thoughts (really final this time lol)
Maybe its just me, but I thought Skyrim was vastly better. I also think Fallout 3 and new vegas were way better too. But Skyrim being newer than NV...
its not my type of game
But I do see it being compared to that a lot, especially by console players. If it is indeed like borderlands (to be honest never played it, I already know from watching videos I'd not like it at all), no wonder I'm PERSONALLY greatly disliking fallout 4 lol. (edit: also, my friend doesn't even LIKE RPGs. He hasn't liked a single rpg he has played, but is loving fallout 4. since I know him personally, that pretty much says A LOT about fallout 4 lol)
Skyrim takes about 25-30 minutes to get from one end of the map to the other if you don't stop and follow the roads. Like solitude to windhelm takes me 20-30 game time to get to it, but I don't use a horse. The number sky rockets if I DO NOT ignore bandits, but this is just running and sprinting ignoring everything. And that is only from city to city.
Fallout 4, I can get one end of the map to the other in 10-15 minutes, while following the roads AND being distracted by stuff (but ignoring mutants). And that is from starting in Sanctuary and going into Diamond City
Fallout 4 map feels WAY smaller than Skyrim.
Fallout 4 does also feel like it has vastly less content than Skyrim, comparing vanilla vs vanilla (taking no mods into account).
Skyrim, I can get so lost by the millions of possible dungeons, side quests, or doing random cr@p
Fallout 4, building a settlement is cool, but speaking of mods, Skyrim and fallout 3/NV has a WAY more USEFUL settlement building mod. In fallout 4 it feels like it doesn't really have any use, AND in fallout 4 if you build too many defenses the AI doesn't attack you (at least in sanctuary). Feels very secondary, and Skyrim's building mod(s) and Fallout 3/NV feel vastly superior and vastly more useful.
But, fallout 4...feels...like...I don't get lost at all in what I want to do or not do. There is barely anything to do compared to Skyrim or even fallout 3 or new vegas. That was why I liked older Bethesda games, they FELT vastly more sandboxy than fallout 4 does. I think this is where I'm not liking fallout 4 and where it doesn't feel right to me. While skyrim is more of a sandpark (or whatever you want to call it, since it isn't really a sandbox, but not a themepark game)...fallout 4 feels like a themepark game to me with an open world.
That doesn't even touch the lack of RPG feeling fallout 4 has (which I think I posted in my thoughts before), and I don't like FPS games, and fallout 4 feels way too much like a FPS game (which in fallout 3/NV was fine cause it had tons more RPG stuff). And a number of other issues.
But the key thing for me is, all of Bethesda's previous games felt vastly more sandboxy to me, where as fallout 4 is like playing a themepark game with an open world.
Maybe just me that sees it that way, dunno, everyone is different. But it is the very first Bethesda game that I've been disappointed by.
On the other hand, my friend is LOVING fallout 4 and compares it to borderlands all the time...which I really didn't like borderlands...but thats just me
And also as a sidenote, it isn't even because I played Witcher 3 before hand. I never really got into Witcher 3, I think skyrim is better (definitely my opinion on this one) simply because witcher 3 has vastly worse modding capabilities and skyrim's modded is vastly superior to witcher 3 for me (again my opinion lol).
I'll be going back to playing modded Skyrim and witcher 3 (I do like it if I could play a female lol) once a playable ciri mod is out (if there ever is one)
