Couldnt agree more, and this isnt just looking at the film they're basing this of. They've outright stated they are aiming for survival horror, and games like Dead Space in particular prooved that you CANNOT allow the player to fight back if you want the game to remain scary. If you can kill the thing(s) chasing you it's not ever going to be scary, it will be stressfull. This also applies to other situations, such as the enemy AI (linear behaviour, predictable behaviour, etc) and I'll wait and see before passing judgement there

ACM was a complete trainwreck on managment for the development stage, so I personally find it highly unlikely that Isolation ends up on the same level or even near to it, where I to be brutally honest. However, to paint it as the best survival horrorgame of 2014 ahead of time is also quite the bold thing.   The potential is there for it to be VERRY good, looking at what has been revealed. But it's also verry possible that they'll fail to carry it through and meet what expectations have been set (*cough*Watch Dogs*cough*) since more then once have devs tried to bite of more then they could chew, and the way they describe the Alien AI in particular makes it seem like quite the tall order to make it (appear) non-linear.   They have the exact right way of thinking about it and the ideas. What's left to be seen can their writers match them, and can they actually create what they promise.     I'll remain cautiously optimistic.

Right, I have either managed to permanently corrupt or atleast (for now) render the savefiles with Embla on them entirely unplayable (She's stuck in T pose whenever I load in and it CTD's IMMEDIATELY as I try to move). It's at topics like these my standard answer is I'd be surprised if we dont hard code Asimov's Laws. Problem pretty much solved, and we're bound to have EMP technology standing by regardless along with killswitches.   Fiction and non-fiction has been over pretty much every single plausible doom scenario a million times now, so to assume that there would be no defense, no contingency plans or anything would be in place, is QUITE naive Fun fact, The US military is rumored to have pre-made plans for nearly every. single. situation. immaginable, (Senator captured by Brazilian druglords, check. Pandemic, Yep. Ravenous undead attacking people, on it's way) and various military forces have apparently begun implementing "zombie scenarios.   Even if some of this shit DOES happen, we're gonna be able to fight it, and if not, I honestly do think we deserve being made extinct for being so stupid
