  1. Bethesda games are notorious for not being optimized out of the gate
  2. The first couple weeks of mods :/

I see what you are saying now. And yeah I agree. Labeling it as something and it not being exactly that is pretty lazy and inexcuseable. And yes, I see now there are a few more Savegame, face, and other no effort posts in the mod section.   Hopefully they will be overwhelmed/phased out once the creation tools become available and start circulating...   Edit: I mean starting a game, using a few console cammands, saving the game, then posting it is kinda DERP happy, lol.
  3. The first couple weeks of mods :/

I think the point that "should" be focused on is that new people are trying. Not everyone has been modding since morrowind. I started "serious" modding on Skyrim. Started with no knowledge and was eventually using 3DSMAX blender GIMP photoshop like it was second nature. The 3rd party tools like nifskope bodyslide made it even easier to make what I wanted.   My point being that not everyone is the same skill level as you. To expect that is pretty ridiculous. I'm trying to say this without sounding rude or aggressive, which is not my intention, but you and others with "talent and skill" come off as a bit elitist making statements like; "This simple edit doesn't even constitute as a mod in my book". I mean if they are just starting out, where else are they supposed to post their work to recieve outside perspective and criticism. It's not like there are "1st try, or more like an edit not quite a mod" sections on the nexus or LL. No, there are mod sections with mod categories.   I'm just glad more new people are trying, because it means potentially more creative content from those who decide to stick with it and improve.

  5. @Marisa Kirisame thank you for your post, which technically explains what I wanted to say.  Just because they give the engine a new name does not mean it's a new engine. Yes it would be nice if they would use easily understandable version numbers, but if they did that it would let us all know that it's the same damn engine with basically the same capabilities and LIMITS of the original engine with just a little bit of inconsequential "extra" silly puttied on. When they give it a new name they shadily (fake word) hide that FACT.    Fankly, im getting sick of it. Making people pay premium dollars for regurgitated crap. I'm sorry; it's not their fault. They aren't "making" anyone buy it. They just advertise it in such a way that you HAVE to research the product as if it is some sort of class action lawsuit to get the truth.. /rant   My opinion on 1 other thing. Bethesda games (fallouts, Elder scrolls*.*) are unique in that they typically "eventually" make tools available to mod their product. In a sense giving you complete ownership of the game in a way no other game company does. The ability to completely rework the game however you want. Name another company that does that. People still play skyrim, a lot of people. And even oblivion and FO:3/NV. How many other games can you say that you spent $40 - $80 on and get the longevity and entertainment value that you get out of a Bethesda game?   Now im sure beth's business model allows them to save tons of money in the process of developing games this way (making a base game, sell/release it, relying on modders to provide the rest of the content, create more profit releasing a few expansions/add-ons) BUT, at least make a marginally "closer to finished" product. Thats not an unreasonable request. Modders shouldn't have to spent so much time fixing actual bugs and broken mechanics before focusing on more aesthetic, cosmetic projects. Pretty inexcusable in my book... forreal/rant.
