5 hours ago, bjornk said:Only if you want the game to be more linear, more story focused. I think most people who mod & play Beth games wouldn't want that, because it would mean a less moddable game.
False dilemma. You can have an open world and a good story... Witcher 3. Nuff said. True some might not like playing Geralt, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a good story that was also an open world.
There are a ton of assumptions being made. As for modding, it has nothing to do with a story focus. Also story focus does not mean linear. Linear means there is one way to do something, hence linear meaning straight line. Story focus just means there is story giving you a reason to do somethings, as long as there are many ways to some something in any order you want then you have a story driven open world.
Saying that, I understand what you are saying. You want to keep an open world feel, and anything that might risk damaging that makes you nervous. We will just have to agree to disagree on things. I would rather gamble with a solid story with a good background to create immersion, than having no background and being totally generic.

There needs to be a stronger narrative IMO. That is done but having the PC be a preexisting character.
Skyrim's story failed because no one cared about the dragonborn. There was no emotional attachment to anything, you only knew that the Stromcloaks were racist, and the Empire were cold and calculating. Some here might like that but it made a HORRIBLE story.
Fallout 3 story was actually pretty good IMO. You established a background and drive for the reason you do things. Now the game pissed me the he fuck off because of the forced choice to side with the Brotherhood, but outside that, it worked and was enjoyable.
FalloutNV suffered from the same problem as Skyrim. With no established background there is no rhyme or reason to do anything. The options were better than FO3 but I did not care about any character. No emotional attachment.
IMO you need a background to help build emotional attachment. It worked in ME1, you quickly bond to Sheperd. Worked in DA:O, Even in FO3 IMO. Background choices matter since it shows that you are more than just the now, you had a life before this moment. Saying that... I think they could have made it work if they gave you the option to pick your partner so you can decide if you are straight/ gay/ or bi. The baby then could be adopted if you were in a same sex relationship. People, I'm sure someone will create a mod that will change your partner's sex, just need to be a little patient. Should have been in the base game, but there is no point crying over split milk.

You are supporting a system. Just because one company doesn't exploit it, which is arguable, doesn't mean you aren't harming gaming as a whole. 2k games has exploited in the past, /cough Evolve.
IF you don't want to hear it from me, try the Cynical Brit... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mf5Uj4XIT1Y
Even though you are 99% sure it is going to be good, why not make sure that extra 1%, so you know for sure it is good. It doesn't cost you anything to wait. If it does like EA who removes content from games and gives it to people who pre-order then you shouldn't be buying their games anyways.
Well I will stop commenting on this. May the Gods protect 2k Games from greed!

Absolutely loved Enemy Unknown/Within. Pre purchased already.
You should never pre purchase any game. You are giving the gaming companies an incentive to hand out a crappy product because they already have your money. Look at EA, they live off of using pre purchasing.
Don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to X-com 2 as well, but I don't want to incentivizing companies to doing a money grab.
Half the budget to Battlefiend and CoD are marketing... No joke HALF! They create hype so you buy the game before you know better. Once you have it you realize that it is same as the last one, but they already have your money. Just think if they spent double the money in production!!!!

Hongfire has a ton of info on this subject. Just need to get to the hentai games section.

spoiler below
To me the world was 100% against Chloe, like holy cow, which made no sense to me because unlike most of the town she was one of the good ones who didn't do anything that was that bad. i chose Chloe too but mostly because of all the trouble i went through to keep her alive, and she is awesome

Talk about game and responses, contains spoilers and stuff
Who says the world is fair? Just because you are good, doesn't mean fate will not kick your ass for no reason. Children die everyday having done nothing wrong their entire lives. Seemed like Chloe had loaded dice set to fail. Felt like fate wants her dead... Well Max payed for her life in blood. I think I said this before, I probably would do the same thing in reality. Pick my loved one over others. We do it all the time in a lesser degrees IMO.
My other problem with saving the town, is that it makes the whole game pointless. All your actions don't matter. At least let me take the bullet and save Chloe, that way the time travel ends and none of the actions to save Chloe happen and thus save the town too.
I really liked the writing for Chloe. She was so alive, and reckless. It also shows that she is passionate and caring. Obviously Chloe is tempered by Max since time travel allows Max to know better. Even with paralyzed Chloe, she still wanted to take action by killing herself to spare her and her parents pain. I just felt her character came out very honest, it felt real. Most of the other characters felt a little cliche, especially Victoria, but as Max talks to them and goes through the game they all get better. Some more than others.

Well I finished the game just now. Not going to spoil anything outside a spoiler but I thought it was really good. I cried a bit, but I'm a softy to these things.
Talk about the ending in the spoiler.
I was a little annoyed that there were basically only 2 endings.
I wanted a 3rd ending where Max sacrifices herself to save Chloe, to say the least, but I'm ok with the only way to save Chloe is to sacrifice others.
As for my choice...
Totally picked Chloe over the town. I'm not a Vulcan, I couldn't do the needs of the many over the women I have grown emotionally attached to! People act all noble and say they would save the town but in reality I think most people would save their loved ones over others.
Surprised the town wasn't totally gone by the vortex, and that their weren't more fatalities... Guess they didn't want you to feel tooo guilty if you sacrificed the town. I get why Max and Chloe had to leave though, you will be haunted by your actions if Max stays there.
Also was expecting more than a kiss at the end... Hear some people only get a hug.
Overall I loved it.

Still playing, grabbed it when all 5 episodes came out. So far I'm pretty shocked at how well it is at the end of episode 2. Have no idea where it's going to end!
If people didn't know, it is in the style of the Walking Dead game, where it is about your decisions on how the game turns out.
You play as a shy teen who is thrown into a chaos at school, from teenage drama, to a missing person, and making friends and enemies in the process. Ohh did I mention that you somehow gain the power to rewind time? Trust me, it is better than how I can explain it.
So far this is 9/10 for me with 3 more chapters to go. Can't give it enough praise.
It's the little things I appreciate. The fact that the girls range in sizes. Their personalities work, sometime they are cliche but they work overall. Some are tall and short, some are busty while others, like the main character, are near flat. I think they used a cop-out out saying everyone is 18 in the game, but in reality the vast majority would be 17 and younger in High School... but Americans would have their panties in a twist if it was accurate. (I'm America I can criticize my culture!)

OK, let me get this straight.
- You have an awesome face from a mod
- You modified the face to make it more awesome
- You then exported the modified face.
- You opened the CK and created a NPC
- Exported the face in CK
- You then tried to use nifmerge using the CK nif and the racemenu nif but something is wrong.
Well I suggest you start over from the CK side and remake the NPC then export the face. Then try again following the steps listed earlier in the thread. I'm going to send you a PM so we don't clutter the thread.

Someone new without a name still. Shoot me some suggestions.

That is a great face. Body isn't exaggerated... Bush is a little excessive but realistic.
I think I am in love!

Ok I might just be crazy but where do you go to get these careers? Can you just search them up or do you have to go somewhere in game to get them? (Also it is my first time with Nraas mods so I have no idea how the career mod works at all)
You can go to the location, which is the criminal hangout, and it should have a join <insert name> career. You should also be able to apply through the newspaper, or on a computer.
Nraas also lets you change the job of a sim and you can assign it through that as well.

I suggest you play the fallout 3/NV. It doesn't have to be a first person shooter with VATS. A system that stops time and the computer auto shoots your programmed commands.
Fallout 3 has a really great environment, while the story is forced and semi linear which sucks for this type of game, it is flavorful. NV has less flavor but is completely open world. Fallout in general is dark and funny, which might seem weird to sum but it really works.
I tend to play young charismatic female characters who rely on others to do her damage for her. She uses lasers and plasma pistols since they don't have recoil. I do use Sexout Mods, but I never play a slut or willing prostitute myself. Every now and then there is a sexlab updated quest that makes sense for my character to have sex but it is rare.
I recommend A Tale of Two Wastelands and play both games as the same character. Just need to be careful you are not running addons that will mess things up.

I prefer 14+ years old, as the correct age for people to have sex for the first time. To be honest, most people in the past get married around 14+ years old. And in modern day, most of us lost our virginity around 14+ years old too.
Well I agree with you. If it is a medieval setting like anything in DnD then adulthood at 18 is retarded, hell many states age of consent is 16. Even in the 3.5 DnD book humans are mature at 15. No joke it is in the book!
Saying that, just because you can role play a teenager who gets raped, doesn't mean the people around you can handle that. Society programs citizens that 17 years old are non sexual... even if biology and logic says differently. If someone can't let that conditioning go then don't force them. Not everyone can let go of reality in their DnD role-playing time, and while I sort of do think that is sad... it should be respected.
Just say you are 18 to the group and in your head be 15. Physically they can be identical depending on the person, LOL say you are 18 to the group and be in character lying about being 15! You never really have to ever state your characters age to the group. You can always just give a general description. She looks like an older teen who has grown into adulthood /cough DND adulthood is 15, and let them assume 18.This way you both get what you want. Just don't ever tell the others your characters real age so they can keep up their illusion to ease their conscious.

Given up dudeochill? It has been a while since any update. Or just taken your time? Which is fine, but its been a month with no contact. Just curious.

Knights of the Old Republic 2, and I am using the new mod that includes previous cut content from Obsidian.

Edit: And the "he doesn't mod, so he never was going to buy the game" is a bit weak in itself. Because even if someone doesn't mod (heck, I only made a shitty little mod for Skyrim that strained my brain way too much), he or she might still want to add mods to a game. And with no proper tools, there are no mods one can use.
Thing is there is no modding community for the Witcher series like there is for Skyrim and Fallout... I am not even sure there are any mods that use the RedKit to it fullest extent for Witcher 2, so why would you expect anything different in Witcher 3? Modding for the Witcher series has always been minor, so I feel safe saying you shouldn't expect awesome mods for Witcher 3. Sadly now I know that is the case with the weak sauce ModKit. =( The only thing we really lost is potential. Note that is still better than 95% of other games out there that has no modding at all... If this happened to FO4 then yeah I would be pissed but that is because you expect modding for Besesda games.
As for not using the guys name, I was trying to attack the idea and not the individual. To me it appeared to that someone made a prejudgement and then looked for anything to support that prejudgement. Part of the problem is the attitude presented that there was no real chance given to like it. You will always find something to dislike about anything if you go looking for it. I dont mind if people do not like something, as long as they come to the conclusion from objective points first. It should be evidence before judgement. I enjoy games that you play as female, since you play as male that will prevent me from enjoying it. Objective point made and then a judgement. As I said the attitude felt as if judgement was made before taking in evidence. That is what bothers me.
With windows 10, there are some people who prejudge and that pisses me off too. Saying that if you value privacy you can make a judgement on that point and then decide Windows 10 is not for you.
Hopefully my refined point of view helps with understanding my point.

It is kind of the same thing as complaining about how evil Microsoft and W10 is without having installed it.
Well that is not true. Microsoft is being open and honest about them giving you no privacy. If you value privacy then you can make a judgement without buying it. You are basing your opinion on a value.
That guy earlier was saying, I didn't buy the game but gave no real reason why. He complained about two aspects ,"They downgraded graphics" and "No RedKit". I think the man made a snap judgement on the game and doesn't want to really reveal why he doesn't like it and now is looking for reasons to not make him look silly. His complaints aren't valid in this situation. From my understanding the graphics aren't downgraded, but Xbox and PS3 have limited frame rates because they improved graphics TOO much and those systems can't handle it. PC's aren't effected this way. The RedKit issue also seems weak in this instance. He didn't buy the game before the RedKit is the reason he didn't buy it? Well he doesn't create mods so he was never going to buy the game. Don't tell me he was expecting mods, because the Witcher doesn't have a modding community yet. RedKit came to late for Witcher 2 to get attention. Seriously it appears he made a snap judgment and is now grabing anything to discredit it. So far his argument isn't based on a value of some sort. All he had to do was say I don't like playing games with a fixed protaganest, I like making my own and not being forced to play Garalt... but that is not what he said.
I understand why people are upset about the RedKit. No complicated quest mods that we could throw in sex mods that we love here at LL. They said they are giving us moding tools and we assumed it would be the RedKit. Yeah it sucks. Thing is people like the Witcher for the mature enviroment and story, not mods. Am I annoyed? Yes, but modding is a bonus for the Witcher series, unlike Skyrim where it is the feature.

Thing is you have no real option not to be spied upon. If you want to play computer games you really need to run windows and thus it's spyware. That is my major problem, the lack of an option. True people will say Linux, but emulating a platform to run games doesn't always work and isn't as efficient. For gaming, Linux just really isn't equivalent.
As for Spotify, you can just not use it, but same can't be said for your operating system.

After they made their sales.... I'm glad I didn't give in to W3. First with downgrade on graphics and now no redkit? Hope Beth don't pull the same stunt.
To be fair, Skyrim wasn't/isn't 100% open either, which is why we need FNIS to edit animations since they are locked that out.
True this is more limited than the creation kit, but most mods don't require the things that are locked out. Most mods in Skyrim could be made in W3 mod kit, so I am not really sure why you are freaking out.
Does it suck that it doesn't have full access, absolutely but lets not make mountains out of mole hills. You are complaining about a game you didn't buy... it seems like you are trying to justify you opinion with by grasping at straws. It seems really odd. Note I haven't played W3 yet but then again I am not saying that is a good or bad game either. I lack experience to make an informed judgement and I know it.
TLDR; Seems like you are looking for any flaw to complain.

Thanks so much for this explanation. This fixed the issue I was having on the follower mod I'm working on.
=)
Been a while since someone has asked me for help on these matters, nice to see that my privious help is still... helping.

Morning, you orange-flavored bastards! It's story time.
This shit took me several hours. I hope you enjoy.

Loved it! I don't post much in here now so you know it's good to bring me back into the open!

=( that wasn't it.
The mod I had was an short range AoE spell that changed the appearance of the people in range of the spell. One spell made you look on fire. Another spell gave you the soverngarde glow, another had the lightening effect. One spell made you and your equipment look metallic.
I think I found what you're looking for. It's called Glowtastic. At first I wasn't quite sure, but the effect in the third image on the "from users" tab looks very similar to the one in the image you posted. I hope this is what you're looking for.
That's it. Thank you!
Glow is the key word they use...

I like Elves looking different than humans, but not too different.
Saying that Skyrim did a HORRIBLE job making any NPC attractive, and elves are the worst of the bunch. So I understand making them more humanoid to make them not look as bad. When done right, they should look a little different but also attractive in their own right.
When I make elves I tend to make them lithe, while humans I make more stocky but busty. Face wise, is tricky because normally people make humans with faces to their ideal women, so if you want elves to be different you have to diverge off that ideal.
