Blender armor conversion (the easy way) without 2.49b, a few notes on using Blender for Skyrim
ratrace replied to ~magic~'s topic in Tutorials & Guides
For re-weighting the vertices you should use Mesh Rigger (http://kgtools.org/) anyway. More accurate, faster, far less hassle, highly configurable, has a shitload of features (f. ex. can copy dismemberment partitions from one mesh to another). -

Kendo 2's UNP Armor and Clothing Mesh Replacer Fixes
ratrace replied to Kendo 2's topic in Downloads - Skyrim Adult & Sex Mods
Thank you very much for this insightful answer. I think I'll have to do quite some work on the mods I'm working on. I always thought that the texture paths in body meshes have no meaning at all except for the armor meshes. I always got them corrected if they were wrong in my own creations but I thought of that more like a measure of meticulousness. More than that, I know now what the texture swap in the CK is used for. Great! Same goes for the NiNode and NITriShape names. So bottom line really is to configure modded meshes exactly like they are in the vanilla game. Again, thank you very much for sharing you knowledge. And your explanation was very easy to understand even though I'm not a native speaker. -
Kendo 2's UNP Armor and Clothing Mesh Replacer Fixes
ratrace replied to Kendo 2's topic in Downloads - Skyrim Adult & Sex Mods
Thank you very much for sharing! However I have two questions of understanding: If the texture path in the BSShaderTextureSet section points to non existing or wrong textures the game first "wants" to render these and then switches to the ones in the esp, so there is more rendering / performance stress on the machine, did I get you right there? The second question is whether the NiNode names are important for game performance / stability or if this is "just" for reasons of doing the job in a decent way? I'm asking because I do a lot of conversions for a slightly reshaped Dream Girl body that I use and I want to do it the best way possible. I'm a bit of a compulsive neat freak, that's why I'm asking. -
The cannon ending of Skyrim's civil war?
ratrace replied to sammythesquirrel's topic in Skyrim General Discussion
Hard to pick a side without a headache. Ulfric is a blunt racist, so is his politics and many of the "true Nords", the Thalmor are a dangerous tyrannical organisation. My guts tell me to fight them, and in order to do so, I have to side with the stormcloaks. "Skyrim belongs to the Nords" is like "Deutschland den Deutschen" ("Germany for the germans" - a propaganda statement uttered mostly by Neonazis). The similarity is very obvious. Of course this is only a slogan, but it makes the way of thinking very obvious. But this is just my opinion. However, I can't help having tons of fun killing Thalmor on sight or playing a foul game on them. And I stress "Thalmor" - not Altmer. -
SexLab Amorous Adventures [v2.08.01] (2015/11/09)
ratrace replied to FoxFingers's topic in Downloads - SexLab Framework
I tried this mod yesterday and I'm astonished how seamlessly it merges into the Skyrim world. Cutting the dialogues must have been a shitload of work. But it paid. Can't belive I didn't try the mod earlier. However - outstanding mod. A must have. Thanks for sharing! -
SexLab Amorous Adventures [v2.08.01] (2015/11/09)
ratrace replied to FoxFingers's topic in Downloads - SexLab Framework
Just a small idea: Whenever one of my girls roam Skyrim, they tend to "get around" quite a lot . And they don't shy away from married guys or gals, and they get away with it - which I always found somewhat irritating. So I thought it would be nice if the part of the couple that had been cheated on would send a killer after my player char, comparable to the Dark Brotherhood killers that are sent after you randomly, only that this time this would be the consequence for having sex with a married person. Perhaps the killer could carry a contract with him that explains everything - if you manage to kill him, that is. -
T3nd0's Perkus Maximus (PerMa) (Successor to Skyrim Redone)
ratrace replied to LaEspada's topic in Skyrim Adult Mods
Well, it's in the name. Perkus Maximus is a different concept than Skyrim Redone. Skyrim Redone is exactly that. It's a rework of the whole game. Perkus Maximus focusses on the perks. Leaves more room for choices imho. I wouldn't describe PerMa as a SkyRe successor. It's totally different, only the author is the same. But I will go for the better perk descriptions as well. Leveling up is too much of a guessing game with the original perk descriptions. -
T3nd0's Perkus Maximus (PerMa) (Successor to Skyrim Redone)
ratrace replied to LaEspada's topic in Skyrim Adult Mods
I tested it a few hours today and will stick with it. I like the vast variety of perks and that it leaves combat and enemies untouched. So I can choose other mods to go along with PerMa. The patcher takes a few minutes on my medium rig which is ok for me. The only thing that's annoying is that the the PerMa ESPs and the PaMa patch need TES5Edit cleaning and Master Re-ordering / Master Cleaning. For the PerMa ESPs that's ok since you do it once and be done with it, but the PaMa patch needs that every time you refresh it. Was the same shit with the SkyRe Proccer. -
[Skyrim] [Tutorial] Easy way to add a belly node to a body mesh.
ratrace replied to TicTacTied's topic in Tutorials & Guides
Thanks for the frequent updates and putting it on your own site. Not that LL is bad or so, but with updates coming so quickly it's much easier to have it all in one place rather than having to search a long thread for the newest version. -
New Clothing Body Style Converter Beta v0.89f (10-26-2014)
ratrace replied to gerra6's topic in Modders Resources
Yes, and it works. Had exactly that yesterday when copying weights and replacing partitions on two body meshes. Mesh Rigger turned the NiSkinInstances into BSDismemberSkinInstances. Just out of curiosity: In how far would NiSkinInstances cause Skyrim to bug out? -
UNP Skinny using CBBE Slim TBBP Weighting
ratrace replied to ratrace's topic in Downloads - Skyrim Adult & Sex Mods
Thanks for the kind lines! And just for the record and to encourage people to test it: all kudos for this go out to our Gerra6 who made it possible with his Mesh Rigger which enabled me to copy the weights from CBBE to UNP in the first place. Link is in the mod description. Have fun! -
Or replaced by better ones since they don't do SexLab justice. I like the Zyn animations very much, they seem more realistic than the robotic AP animations. But let's be patient. I'm sure there'll be much more to come.

Modifying a bethesda game a fetish in itself?
ratrace replied to calranthe's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't call it a fetish, it's the power of modding that you feel. It's molding someone elses vision so that it becomes your own. Both installing mods and making them is intriguing. I'm playing and modding Bethesda games (mostly Skyrim, but also Oblivion and FO3) since years, and sometimes I ask myself if I'm still sane, because I feel utterly bored when I try to play a game that is fixed. That cannot be changed to my needs. It always ends up with me uninstalling the game because I get bored. So I'm pretty much stuck with Beth games. Since the end of 2011 it's mainly Skyrim. So I would say modding is a great hobby, something that should be possible with any game. I have no interest at all in "beating a game". Why would I want to be "successful" in someone elses vision? I prefer games that I can play the way I want to play them. Not the way someone I don't even know and who I paid for his game wants me to play it. There's a profession in which people get paid to play a role that others tell them to play, it's called acting. I'm not an actor, I don't want to be one, and especially when it comes to ROLE playing games it's not my job to play the role the developers assign me to play. I play games because I want to. Not to earn a living. So a fixed default hero (mostly the usual stereotype crap) is not my choice. Often I stumble upon games that are really nice, but what always spoils the fun is that they are not open to modding, and it's a shame. The last time I really regretted that was "Kingdoms of Amalur". Quite unstable and in dire need of mods and bugfixes because the game company went broke due to mismanagement. If that would be open to modding it would be awesome. But given the state that it is in it's just another nice but irrelevant RPG game. Just as an example. Every game game open to modding - that would be my personal Utopia. -
Skyrim SexLab - Sex Animation Framework v1.60.2 (hotfix 2) - UPDATED Sep 1st 2015
ratrace replied to Ashal's topic in Downloads - SexLab Framework
THAT was the information I was searching for. Or, to be more precise, happily stumbled upon. Didn't know that it even was possible to edit offsets of single animation stages. Cool! -

A little late (my greetings, that is - not your return), but glad to see you back here. And I hope you recovered well. Take it slow, though! -

This is totally not technical, but I must get this off my chest. I just must. HOLY COW, I'M IMPRESSED. I switched from Wrye Bash (which I've been using since Oblivion days) to MO this very day. I was totally convinced of WB and I still appreciate it very much (and I am still using it for the bashed patch), but what the MO devs did is beyond compare. This piece of software is incredible. It's fast, powerful, eyecandy, safe and comfy to use, easy... I'm simply completely and utterly astonished. I didn't even need to go through the tutorial and have migrated a full Skyrim Redone install with a shitload of mods and everything's working fine, including all progs I use to mod / edit mods. Thanks to the developers for this awesome mod organizer!

XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended
ratrace replied to Groovtama's topic in HDT Physics Extension - Downloads
Is there a good, simple readme that - without having to install another mod manager than the one I'm using which is Wrye Bash 304.4 - explains which files to install in which case? Having to install an additional mod manager to be able to use the config xml is a bit over the top. What happened to the art of writing simple, significant text file readmes that just explain the use of the files? Everything has to be automated, simple, non-effort, without having to read something. It's frustrating. I have HDT 14.28, Dream Girl TBBP with loremonger 14.28 - no breast collision, I have met all requirements necessary (FNIS, anims, RR, yadayada). I still have the old legacy XPMS x93 ar50 and want to update. The legacy skelly package had a BAIN wizard, the new one hasn't - which is fine with me if there was a ReadMe explaining which files for which config. I don't need everything explained in detail. As it is now I'm forced to figure out which files to use manually. I don't want special weapon placements etc., I play a female char. I want simple butt and breast physics. I already HAVE a mod manager, so why install a second one, no matter how great MO is. I will install it with a new Skyrim install, but just because I want to install a new skeleton? C'mon, you're joking. So anyone can give me some help? -
Artificial Intelligence May Doom The Human Race Within A Century, Oxford Professor Says
ratrace replied to ...0...'s topic in Off Topic
It's not artificial intelligence that will plunge mankind headlong into its doom, it's human swarm stupiditiy. But we shouldn't overreact, since we are but one tiny fart in the history of time, and after us evolution will spawn new life. Even if mankind had been wiped out completely. And the good news is that our transience and irrelevance gives us freedom to find our own meaning of life. Each and every day. Take care of yourselves and others. Try to be human(e) in your own small environment and stop thinking about saving the world. It only exists in your head. -
