Darn, still no luck. I must be bad at this. I'm probably making this harder than it should be. =P
Here are the steps I'm going through:
1. Imported the armor/tail mesh
2. Imported the body mesh to use as a reference
3. Deleted skeletons/armatures
4. Match body portions up correctly with the reference model.
5. Extracted game skeleton
6. Selected all meshes and imported the skeleton
7. All meshes, and skeleton, selected, error message: Select 1 or 3 verticles.

http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/12248/?This is an older, all-in-one package for Blender that works with Fallout and Oblivion's nif format. Newer versions of Blender don't have the plugin.
Thanks for that link, it came with some good tutorials as well. =)
A shame it's so hard to get a good viewing angle to work with in this version. >_>
I'll post back if I have success.

I think I know what the issue is, the newer version of blender doesn't have that option... Going to give it another whirl with a previous version. (or give 3ds max a try.)

Whoops, I should have clarified in the first post, I meant export not save. >_>
I see the "Import skeleton only" but no option with the "parent selected" as well.

I've been trying to convert a tail and ear armor from an Oblivion mod. I have permission from the author, but I have run into trouble with blender.
I followed an online guide, which has been helpful in placing the armors in the correct position, but I can't find the bone weight in the interface; plus there have some other issues. I removed the armatures and saved them as nif files, but I keep getting an error message, and, after numerous attempts, won't let me save the file even as a Obj.

If anyone can help me with this, it would appreciated!

I lost my temper the other day and deleted everything fallout related from my hard drive. I've cooled off and want to reinstall, but there is one essential mod that I cannot now re-find. Does anyone know of/have somewhere I can get the most current version of DarnUI without searching for hours through a "thread too long/locked" daisy chain of bethesda blogs?
To my knowledge there isn't any other version except the original: http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1128267-wipzbeta-darnified-ui-nv/
There is another mod that gives darnified a very clean look however. http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/46389/?

If these supposed leaks hold true, money one FO4 and Doom.

Donations to someone to make something are fine. Post what you are after and then conduct any negotiations with the interested parties via PM.
Got it, I'll keep it within that guideline. Thank you!

Thanks for the info all! I'll wait and see what a moderator says. If I don't see a post later tonight, I'll go ahead and PM one of the staff members.

I don't think there should be a problem with offering someone compensation to help with a project if it's done private away from the community. No community wants their place looking like a market revenue for hiring talent to make or help out with projects without it sending the wrong message towards the community itself or game devs.
So if you have a project, let us know about it and what your objective is about it and have them send you a private message if interested, or to a website if you have one.
I could be wrong, but I think it should be okay since this isn't a common practice.
The problem is it's more like paying them for most of the work. I lost all my assets to a hard drive fail a couple of the months ago, and don't have much time left to tackle the project with the summer work in full swing. All I can provide is my reference pictures and ideas.
So I can post a request then? I have tried before at the Nexus forums but learned quickly that commissions were frowned on. =P

I have the password, and he is active. Just make a friendly post and he'll respond within a day or two.

[REQUEST]
This may sound like a larger project, but I would be very insterested in discussing support and donations for it over PM if any of you fantastic modders are willing to tackle it, as it's going to take knowledge that I simply don't have.
An older mod here added Fox races to New Vegas, it being one of my first mods, I would love to see if revised and ready to be port over to Fallout 4, when the time comes. I originally attempted going about this myself several months ago, but failed when I realized I wasn't very good at editing models, and the few I did generate were lost when I had a hard drive failiure. =(

What I'm looking for is a modder experienced in modeling, textures, and some animation.
The original author created a good base to build off of, and successfully got facial animations, for the most part, working correctly. The only downside to the original was that it relied on Mikoto, but another modder fixed that.
http://www.nexusmods...as/mods/55823/?
Goals
-Introduction of a Male version.
-Realistic textures of the fur, for all race variations.
-Animations of the tail.
-Improved synced facial animations and expressions.
-Improved teeth (The original did utilize this, but were more like pointed molars.
)-Multiple Variations of the race for both Male and female. This can be related to color or body damage; like scars or wounds. I can provide reference.
-Revision of the tail and ear. The originals were alright, but were too cartoonish for my taste. A more appropriate model would be great.
-If possible, a tail and ear set this isn't an in game item. Like the Kajiht in Skyrim.
*If it can be done, can someone still switch out the nif file for another body, for example roberts or T6M?
-Remodeling of the face and body: The original lips were a bit chunky, however another author did manage to correct this.
-Digitigrade legs (not really a priority ATM)
Body association: Preferably breezes for males, along with an optional vanilla choice. Type 3 for females would be good. If you wanted to do a complete custom body, we can discuss that over message.
References: I can provide images and custom race mods from similar Skyrim work, along with other resources, that I hope can be achievable in the New Vegas engine. I will message you my images.
I'm open to just about all modders taking this up, but I would like reference to your past work, even if it isn't Fallout. Weapon mods, texture packs, races, are all good examples! If anyone has ever gone about attempting this before, please provide some tips.
Conditions:
-Be polite.
-The mod can be public on this site and VGU.
-Able to handle doing revisions.
-You have the time, and most importantly are able to have fun with it! =D
All I can provide really is constructive criticism, testing, and donations for the project as the Summer is eating into my modding time.

Purely jaw dropping. Thanks for bringing tanks to the game, and thanks for creating such amazing mods! =D

Hi all, I had a question about one of the site rules, in particular:
We are a free and open community; members requiring payment for mods, support, or putting anything behind a paywall will be removed without warning. Donation buttons/links to support an author is fine, so long as nothing is promised, given, or rewarded other than a sense of satisfaction for supporting an author or owner of content.
I understand you can't sell a mod, and the donations option is pretty cool in my opinion, but can we commission an author? Say I have a modeling project that I could use help with or be finished up on
Thanks for response. =)

Oblivion to Fallout *Need help*
in Fallout Non Adult Mods
Posted
Thanks, that was very helpful! Now everything is appearing in Nifskope appropriately, however, now it won't show in Geck. >_>
When I view the mesh I can make out a shimmering brown blob far left off screen, but that's about it.
EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. The textures weren't registered with the new mesh. They won't apply correctly, but I think I should be able to figure it out.
