I think I finally figured it out. I had a flash of insight. Could it be that it was Mod Organizer that was interfering ? Turns out I was right. The clue was when I read the about files that CTRL F4 is supposed to be exporting. That should have appeared in the overwrite folder but it did not. Only the useless TGA file showed up. They did appear in in the data folder but I wasn't sure the changes was kept by MO. So I installed the mod manually in skyrim, without using MO. Made my changes in CK, exported with CTRL-F4, and copied the relevant files back into the mod folder. Deleted the mod from Skyrim proper. Voila no more gray face. At this point he's 99% the way I want him. Not sure how to apply a custom tattoo, but that's pretty minor
-
Yes, I think that's something like that. Not sure how to do it, but I'll poke around some more.
-
Yes I did that of course. That's not the issue. Well unless exporting doesn't work. But I export it and get a confirmation message. Beside, the color is off in CK as well.
-
I modified an existing custom follower in an attempt to give him custom hair. I managed to do it with CK, although I have yet to get the exact hair color I would like. However I find his complexion to be off. I don't think it's the infamous gray face problem that has a solution (exporting the face). This is something a bit different. Even in CK the face seems off. This is my pretty boy Thaiden, that I got off Nexus and customized to my liking. I kept the name to honor his creator As you can see, the complexion is off, and the hair isn't the color I wanted. Not sure how to add a custom tattoo. I can live with the issues but the gray face bugs me. Can anyone tell me how I can fix him? Edit : I made sure to export the face every time

Have you toyed with the settings in enblocal.ini. I came across this today Under [MEMORY], set ReservedMemorySizeMb=X. Where X = 64, 128, 256, 512, or 1024. This setting is highly dependent on the users system. If stuttering is experienced when turning 360 degrees in game, increase this value. This is from http://wiki.step-project.com/User:Neovalen/Skyrim_Revisited_-_Legendary_Edition#Prerequisites Also I wonder if this could improve things for you : http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57353/?

Overlays Showing and not showing(racemenu)

I also had really bad stuttering issues. I tried a few things. I removed my ENB (but left the base files to gain the VRAM boost). I tried switching to optimized lower res texture files. I had to conclude that a 5 year old computer with a 1GB GPU could not handle a modded game and purchased a whole new system. Probably not something you want to hear though PS. I did not get any stuttering indoors though, so maybe you need to re-evaluate the texture files you are using? I used S.T.E.P. but used only the mods for lower-end systems.

I'm getting an awesome new gaming computer tomorrow (woohoo). So in honour of this new purchase I am planning to start a new play-through. (for the millionth time lol) I think I have all the graphical aspects and fixes covered by STEP. What I'm interested in are gameplay changes that improve immersion So I have a few ideas. I'm trying to be careful about the heavily scripted mods, since those are the most damaging to your game. I'm trying not to get too many "big mods" all at once. There will be frostfall, wet and cold, ineeds and bathing in skyrim. Probably not hunterborn this time around. I'm definitively including the new immersive citizen mod. That looks really impressive. Maybe the interesting NPC mod to flesh out the inhabitants. Something to flesh out the outside of Skyrim, immersive patrols although it caused CTD the last time I tried. A mod to overhaul NPC's appearances. Maybe Windsong's again or the NPC overhaul mod, although it's not very compatible. Rustic children as well, or the children overhaul. For the less known ones, i'm considering master of disguise and immersive detection of NPC. Maybe combine that with the aggressive version of immersive patrol. That might be interesting for a sneaky type of character. Now for the big huge overhauls, maybe Skyrim Redone I saw a few more that I now forget. Anyone has any more suggestions for immersion mods that go well together.

It's like raaaaaiiiinnn on your wedding day

I'm not inviting you to MY wedding. -
Good idea. I've caught myself talking to my game a lot. I've responded to the guards admiration after I killed a dragon. "well I'm the dovahkiin that's why". I'll say "there you are" when my horse comes to my whistle. Or I'll said to my horse, well thanks for nothing, after he went awol and failed to respond to my whistle and I almost froze to death in a snow storm. (He carries the wood and camping gear). Or "where the heck where you" or "a lot of help you were" to my follower when he comes too late to help me with a fight. I'll curse Meeko after I trip over him for the millionth time. I even blurted out to Erik the slayer, "I'll be back for you Erik!" to his retreating back, after a companion quest unceremoniously dismissed him. Then I went to get him back in Rorikstead right after the quest. When I couldn't find him, I started worrying, so teleported to him. I ended up in the river, almost drowned and got drenched, so had to build a fire to avoid freezing to death. Thanks Erik. I should add that I selected the "childhood friend" scenario from Alternate Life, so I am a little invested in Erik. Now I'm exploring other followers and feel vaguely guilty lol That's the whole fun of this game, that it's very immersive if you allow it. But I like your idea and am going to try it What's other things has this game caused you to blurt out (beside curses after experiencing a CTD or Freeze).

Can you change your walk animation only for your character
Martine replied to Martine's topic in Skyrim General Discussion
Thanks I installed it and like it so far. -
Do you spend more time modding than playing?
Martine replied to marv4791's topic in Skyrim General Discussion
I just spent 3 days off hunched over my computer. For those 3 days I played maybe 15 minutes (if you don't count starting the game in order to test the mods). I need some sort of 12 step program I think. -

ooooh that's perfect, thank you! The exclusive animation path looks like an even better choice. I'll investigate that. -
Can you change your walk animation only for your character

I want to start a new Khajiit character and would like for her to walk using one of the catwalk animation that are available on Nexus. It seems a good fit for the graceful nature of a cat. However, I do not want every female in the game to walk like that. That totally breaks immersion. Is there any way to change the animation but only for your character ? (or some NPC's)
