Darn, you must have had some very frustrating weeks behind you!
That said, I didn't mind ye olde layout. It has its quirks, but it works.

At the part where we set up the nervous DJ with the waitress, and she entered his studio, I was REALLY hoping to hear them get it on on the radio.

It's a big pain, yes.
Something that might work a bit better for you though: use the concrete foundation blocks instead of fences, they have several advantages:
-You can choose how high you want them to be or stack them if you want to go even higher (rarely necessary though)
-They cost a little less for settlement size (probably due to their simpler shape costing less polygons to draw, which is what settlement size is based upon)
-You can place turrets and guardposts on top of them, giving those an elevated firing position
-You and your settlers can walk on them (if you add some stairs to get up there)
-Concrete Foundations look solid instead of broken (really annoys me to place a new fence that's already torn up)
-Raiders can't see or shoot through the foundation blocks
Concrete Foundation blocks can be found under wood -> floors. They're the third option I think.
They can also be very convenient if actually used for a foundation, giving your buildings a flat foundation.

I prefer Cait, I can play like I want : stealing, being ruthless against people that deserves it. Sure she doesn't like you helping weak people at times, but it's not as annoying as Strong disliking anything you do besides killing. Cait also have a quite well developped character backstory unlike Curie or Piper, who basically tell you their sad story once and that's it. Piper doesn't even have a real companion quest.
Oh and her accent is interesting.
Well, Curie doesn't really speak French anyway. She speaks like someone who doesn't speak French would think French would be. Kinda like the English Gendarme in 'Allo 'Allo.

Oooh, where? And is it a sexy moan?
The only other sound hack I'd want after that, is one that would make the Mutant Suiciders yell "Aluah Akhbar!".

Curie (after her personal quest).
Though she also still annoys the hell out of me for her habit to constantly move in front of my gunsights.

I only headshot while sniping now. I ran into some reference for combat training somewhere within the game, and it specifically mentioned aiming at the crotch. So I started doing that with automatic weapons, and call me crazy, but there might actually be a seperate hitbox in that area.

Hell, yes! We need to be able to assign settlers to "maintenance" jobs.
Simply put, they'd attempt to repair stuff that broke down on raider attacks using local junk.
When there's nothing to repair, they'll attempt to restore the original buildings within the settlements' confines into their original pre-war state. Maybe it'd take a few in-game weeks, but I think it's quite silly how noone can fix the leaking roofs. Especially for the Sanctuary houses this should be manegable, since their pre-war meshes are in game.

Some African Swallows dropped them.

Pants/skirts clothing items that fit with the various armour paddings. Nothing annoys me as much as outfitting myself, a follower or some other NPC with those armour items, only to find them or myself running around in underpants. I don't mind sexy stuff at all, but this is just bad.

I was hearing "Father" conversation with the doctor when I was two floors down..

Also Getting the missing textures for the gun more frequently than before. I do a save and load to solve this. It is getting annoying. Mostly happens in Power Armor (or at least towards the end when fighting the last major battle I am wearing Power Armor

When I get the invisiblle gun, scrolling out to third person view and then back into first person usually fixes it for me.

The new AI is even worse than in Skyrim, where they will actually go ahead and block doors you haven't been in yet, not just ones you are getting out of. I'm permanent Lone Wanderer until modders fix Bethesda's idiot AI, again. Of course when they do they'll fix it so much that your fear will come true and it becomes too easy, so then we'll have to mod the AI of the enemies as well...
Don't you just love it when you try to disarm a laser-tripwire, carefully inching forward to get a good angle because it's right behind a couple of boxes with very little room for you to wiggle, and Dogmeat just goes ahead and "disarms" it for you while you're almost right on top of it? (happened to me TWICE in a row at the electronics hobbyists shack, though I was lucky to have had a save from right before I rounded the corner into that corridor).

-Thongs, leggings and skirts to match the Harness.
-Seethrough mesh parts on the Synth Uniform

I think a lot of the works here are pretty good, but that's just covering a more european flavor. I've not gotten too far into the game yet cause I keep scrapping my character. When I think it looks fairly decent and then step out into the world proper, it always ends up looking like something else entirely. Hard to explain.
I think the specular map isn't suitable for darker skins. It's too glossy somehow.

8 hours ago, deltadeath93 said:actually some personal armor clips when getting into power armor already. the game seems to un equip your clothing once the armor is closed preventing clipping issue's and then re adds said clothing when exiting armor hence the slight delay in the animation. it explains how you can go from wearing dress to standing in a power suit shell and not have the dress bunched up around your waist sticking through
I noticed the same thing, but no idea how they do it, there are several options the developers could've used:
1. During the power armor animation, all worn clothing gets flagged (to find it back for re-equiping) and un-equiped. This would also give a technical reason for why we can't change clothing while in power armor.
2. While in power armor, all clothing (and possibly also the undressed character body) are made transparent. This might be visible while standing in water ingame. But to test, I'd first have to find some generic clothing that really sticks out, then get to the water to stand in, and then find just the right viewing angle to observe any transparency glitching.
3. When changing into power armor, the entire character model gets replaced with the power armor. It's similar to the first solution, but still different, because it would allow the developers to use a different skeleton with its own set of animations for the power armor.
If I had to guess, they picked either solution 1 or solution 3.
Solution 2 is a bit too crude a solution, it's how you'd do something like this quick & dirty.
Solution 3 would be the "ideal and clean" solution, but, depending on the game engine, could be very complex to implement.
Solution 1 isn't as easy to implement as solution 2, but much easier than solution 3, with near identical results (just lacking the special Power Armor skeleton with its custom joint positions for animations)

Just something I'm REALLY hoping for, instead of most outfit mods being Skyrim ports:
Gen 1 Synth customization styled after Hajime Sorayama's Sexy Robots
http://www.sci-fi-o-rama.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Hajime_Sorayama_04.jpg
Gen 3 Synth customization styled after Luis Royo's post apocalyptic and sci-fi androids & women

If I could make stuff like outfits in Blender, I would definitely make something like these, but I'm pretty terrible with such software. Maybe I'll try making some buildings, but that'd be mostly it.

I see a LOT of it drop, but it might be something related to your level (similar to how certain drops in Skyrim become more common after specific levels). I'm about lvl 30 myself now, but mostly looking for pocketed stuff, since I'm a hoarder.

Darn, I only have the 45 and 51 complete, just parts for the Raider, the 60 and the X. Especially the right legs are in short supply.

7 hours ago, cossayos said:I'm perfectly OK with no level cap. But, that said, requirements are a little too low for maxing out any skill.
Nah, since maxing out one skill early means you didn't invest in other useful things yet. As an example, I forfeited boosting my sneak damage (AGI 7 perk) for ages, so I could max my lockpicking. As a result, my sniper still can't one-shot most of the Legendary enemies. And those things do get harder (not to mention: fully healed!) when they mutate. Without any perks buffing any kind of weapon damage (since I picked lockpicking instead!), that gets me in some very hairy situations.
Now at lvl 22, my sniper has access to some awesome equipment, but the perks I got so far still don't make a very rounded character, it definitely has some weaknesses, especially against groups and at close-range.

To be honest, I never played FO 1, 2 or 3, and don't have any idea what you'd call a Fallout game. But, to confuse people even more than that, I did play their predecessor Wasteland, I think it was on my Commodore 64. And yes, the first Fallout game was intended as a sequel to that game, but there were some problems with the intellectual property rights to it, so the project was renamed to Fallout.
And now we live in a time where we have two successors to the original Wasteland games: the Fallout series, and Wasteland 2. I didn't play Wasteland 2 yet either, by the way xD
But overall, does this game feel like a Fallout game to me? I dunno, never played one,
Does it feel like Mass Effect to me? I played all three games, and I can't say they feel too similar.
Does it feel like a Wasteland game? Uhmmm, the original Wasteland game was entirely different, the game mechanics were more comparable to the ones used in The Bards Tale series.
However, if they had had the current computer technology at that time, then I do think they could've come up with something very similar to Fallout 4.

Darn, now I want a mod that changes all energy weapons to use the "no ammo but overheat" mechanic they had in ME1. Except, it's too easy to just change weapon in FO4, so that wouldn't balance well. Maybe Overheat + giving the user radiation damage when it gets close to overheating (like, 80-90 percent?)? People could still switch around their weapons then, but they'd need to carry a lot more of them, and carry weight already isn't exactly sufficient at times.

Well, I'm obviously interested in sexy outfits, and I think some of Luis Royo's stuff would be awesome for Synth girls. Like:

Not really. If only this was a Mass Effect game, then we'd also have an interesting story (though with silly colorcoded endings that would've ruined the IP)!
At times, when there's one of those radiation storms, I'm somewhat reminded of Tuchanka perhaps, but that's it.

Things you hate about FO4
in Fallout 4 General Discussion

The thing I REALLY don't like, is that there are so very few named characters. Now, I don't expect to "know" everybody in the world, but it would be nice if, for example, settlers gave me their name when I talked to them, maybe through some optional introduction dialogue, and they'd be named settlers after the introduction. Would also be convenient, since then I'd know I haven't talked to the dude called "Settler" yet, and that I should probably assign some task to him.
I know, I could probably seperate settler assignments by dresscode, like lowcut harnasses for the guards, labcoats for the farmers and sea captain hats for the vendors, but that would make things look way too uniform for my tastes.
So, eventually, I might still not know everybody, simply because I'd probably never bother with proper introductions with some, but would know others from meeting them before.
Anyway, shouldn't these discussions get moved to the other forum?
