I don't use this kind of fancy easy to use interface software, I prefer to use Linux based cloning/backup software. But AOMIE, judging by their info on their site, should be capable to do the migration. Or you can use something like Redo Backup, an easy to use Linux based software with a very simple to understand GUI (graphical interface).
-
What software did you use to do it?
-
It all depends on what kind of software you are going to use for migration. You will probably end up with only the amount of GB that was your previous drive and you will need to extend your partition with the help of the windows disk manager tool.
-
You don't clone only one primary/logical partition, you clone your entire HDD. But keep in mind that if you have a 250 GB HDD you will need your SDD to be 250 GB or greater too. And don't forget about enabling Trim before migrating.

If you still have the error of missing *.dll and you are on Windows 10, install the DirectX from June 10, it will fix your problem.

Fallout 4! In like 4 1/2 months, its real.
Morra replied to Gameplayer's topic in Fallout 4 General Discussion
Rumors are, that Fallout 4 is going to use some NVidia Gameworks' features. That could explain the not so friendly system requirements for the game and lead to some disastrous things that happened with Gamework's titles before. -

Morra replied to Gameplayer's topic in Fallout 4 General Discussion
You are forgetting the most important thing. Fallout 4 comes with fully voiced protagonist, male and female. So it's gonna be more then 3 GB of audio files, much more, around maybe 30-40% of all game's files. -

Of course it will require 64 bit OS for more then 4 GB of ram and we have already 8 GB stated for minimum. Bethesda's first 64 bit game! Congrats. -

Someone from Bethesda, who was responsible for these specs lives under a rock and doesn't have a slightest idea about the difference between intel, nvidia or amd hardware. -
Yes it's in range of 600 W, so your PSU has enough power to support it. Good news, EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Classified ACX 2.0+ will be just for 700$, very good price for an High End card.
-
Your system is fine as it is. Sure you can upgrade many things, but I don't see the point. As about hitching you shouldn't have any, related to your GPU or your PC in general.
-
NVIDIA AIB partners just dropped the price on all Maxwell based Video Cards, so a GTX 980 Ti should be around 630$. Just go for an Evga GTX 980 Ti with 6 GB of Vram and you will be fine. With Windows 10 around the corner and a new WDDM 2.0 the card will perform even better. SLI is not bad, but the scaling is not 1.0 and sometimes it's not even working, you need to wait for new drivers. Knowing NVIDIA they can drop the optimization next year and you will be stuck with a single 3.5 GB Vram card. DirectX 12 has a feature that can use Vram from both cards, but developers will actually need to implement this feature for their games for you to benefit from it.

I fixed the link in the main post and yes everything will work. But if you want to be 100% sure, that's what you can do: Go here and download the latest version of AIDA64 Extreme, extract the archive and launch "aida64.exe" then click on Report -> Next -> Hardware-related pages -> Next -> HTML -> Finish. Wait till the program generates the report Save To File, choose the location to save, for example Documents, give it a name or live it as Report, then Attach the generated file here to your post.

As was stated before you can do a periodic upgrade. For start you can replace just 3 pieces: Ram, Video Card and Power Supply. Ram: G.Skill Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB Vapor-X Power Supply: Corsair RM 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular All 3 pieces are very easy to install, just plug and play. You can find a video or just fallow the manual. Later you can upgrade your CPU and your Motherboard. With this 3 upgrades you'll be fine playing anything on High Settings and with the upcoming upgrade to Windows 10 your gaming experience will only improve.
-
What's your current budget for upgrade?
-
This picture explains what a "new" line of GPUs from AMD are: There is no r7 280x, it's an r9 280x and practically it's performance is at the level of GTX 960/970. And more about r7 370 can be found here. r9 380 with 4 GB of memory it's a better choice.

[Advice appreciated] New Computer Build for Fallout 4
Morra replied to Tehmedic101's topic in Technical Support
I actually don't see the point sacrificing the speed and performance for interior aesthetics. You need your computer to have the best performance and for modding just google for "Case Modding". The memory you chose it's 1.65 V -

If you are in only for gaming Dual Channel or Quad Channel it doesn't make any difference, you will not see any gain in performance. But if you are multitasking (big time) or may be working with some large files, there is a small performance gain with Quad Channel Memory. Also there is a difference between "Quad Channel" as performance and "Quad Channel Kit" - just 4 Bars of Memory that will work if installed in all 4 Slots as Dual Channel. In my opinion the motherboard you chose it's not worth the price I'll go with Asus Z-97 Pro and G.Skill Ripjaws Z Series 16GB / G.Skill Ripjaws Z Series 16GB for the memory. I think ROG PG279Q from Asus as a monitor is far superior if you are willing to wait a little. For a water cooling solution you need to ask yourself what do you want in first place? Your own closed/open loop solution that will take care of all your hardware or just some custom solutions for different parts of your system. -
As I said, but they will fix it. As you can see I don't have any problems in 3D Max.
-
I thinks it has something to do with Preserving turned Edges. If you have 3D Max, try this solution.
