  1. Not to nitpick (okay, maybe a little) but the 1st rank of the loval leader perk lets you create supply lines. Supply lines link all the various settlements crafting 'stores' into 1 'bank'. It's not really that intuitive to do (workshop mode > highlight a spare settler > look at the bottom of the screen to see which key 'supply chains' is bound > press it, select from the list, hit enter... then don't touch the guy again (he will become a caravaner of some type and soon after will head out with some brahmin... in any case the supply link is instant and continues as long as you have that prospector doing the supply run))
  2. A second look at Fallout 4

I don't know, some of the responses I've seen would be ones I'd expect from players in a pen 'n' paper session. Your second point, about what I'm guessing is the restrictive options from the dialogue... a lot of RPG's, even FO3 and NV, are very restricted by what you can and can't say. The first DA game is (at least from people I've talked to) seen as a solid RPG with a pretty good story, but you're still pigeon-holed into a very specific situation that you have no control over and any dialogue options you may have are just as restricted.   Using FO3 as an example of this: how many times did you step into Megaton and have more than 3 options when someone asked what you're doing there other than when bartering or they wanted to give you a quest (the options being 1: looking for dad, 2: private matter, 3: insult whoever you're talking to). And when bartering or dealing with a quest NPC it's going to end up in a variation of saying 'yes' or 'no' to that option ((do you want to barter? Y/N) || (Do you want this quest? Y/N)).   As for direction you want the game to go, unless you're trying to get everything all at once you have to make a decision about what you say yes to and what you say no to. That decision will inevitably cut-off alternatives, but that''s the point of the choice. They had the same thing in NV with which faction you would support for the main quest-line and you were still restricted by say 4 or 5 options on screen no matter what 'character' you may have been trying to play as. At that point you're merely watching as a character with no background is being used to further another groups goals for absolutely no reason at all that matters to you personally.   Which is odd really, because now I think about it this issue with the dialogue really does seem to be quite trivial. And if someone takes an issue with it in FO4, why are they not taking issue with it in FO3 or NV or DA (the first one) or Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim where, minus the voice-acting, it's the same scenario of restricted options that wont always fit the character you may want to try and play at the time.   Sorry I think I started typing and didn't stop. If this comes across as a bit fighty, apologies. I just can't see that side of the argument to really hold up under scrutiny.
  3. A second look at Fallout 4

Agreed, the focus against FO4 seems to be along the lines of "but I didn't get my special snowflake want therefore it's terrible".   As for the dialogue thing... at the end of the day you're option really boils down to saying yes or no to doing a quest/answering a question. How you get there is up to you, but that is how it will end (because code-wise they need a yes/no answer to be able to decide if you get the quest markers or not). Which I don't see an issue with.

What about all those other perks in previous games that required high levels + high skills + high SPECIAL? Aren't they also a problem then, going by the same logic that having any perk locked with  requirements is a bad thing (which you're kind of implying here).
  5. Fallout 4 Discussion Thread

Anyone else really disheartened with the fact that the internet (and I'm looking squarely at some people on this forum as well when I say this) don't want to let me enjoy the game, tell me I'm wrong/stupid/whatever because I like this game and how the opinion they hold is in actuality fact/WORD OF GOD and how no other differing opinion is allowed?   Or that because of a minor issue that you're special snowflake 'want' has not been addressed it's a failure as a game?   I mean I like this place. Most of the time it's a friendly community. I'm doing a programming based course that could (if I wanted) include 3D modelling/games design taught to an industry standard. I'm more than happy to start dipping my toes into modding/scripting this game once I get the hang of things because that stuff aint going to be easy. But the hate flowing from people really puts me off considering it.   Yeah they're things I miss. Holstered weapons when in 3rd person, actual information on the stats screen of the pip-boy (yes I'm addicted to a chem but which one?) or even the companion control wheel from New Vegas. But I don't mind the vanilla story for now, I can get a good few hundred hours in playing variations of that.
  6. Not the best picture of my current girl, but this is post-Vault, entering the wasteland and having a breakdown from seeing what has become of the world.

Adding your home to the list for where the bombs get dropped... ;)
  8. Fallout 4 Discussion Thread

Yeah I noticed. I can kind of understand that for a disgruntled robot butler, but come on. They recorded 'Christian' but there's not 'Christine'... and it's not like that wouldn't be a common name in the pre-war era considering the setting.   Not that I'll use that name but just a minor nitpick from the lists.
  9. Fallout 4 Discussion Thread

Noticing a lack of 'Christine' or similar names and yet Bethesda apparently included 'Tits' + variations... really?
  10. Fallout 4 Discussion Thread

Ah. Sorry I've been doing programming maths which uses a 0. So a -1 in that instance would be 2 days before release (-1, 0, 1 < release day). Curse my brain.   Still sticking to Day 0 though, just means we're both talking about the same thing but with different numbers used.
  11. Fallout 4 Discussion Thread

Not really, Day 1 hasn't started according to GMT therefore it's still Day 0
  12. Fallout 4 Discussion Thread

Day 0 Bugs.   Day 0 Bugs never change.

It's cheesy. 50's Sci-fi cheesy.   You may not like it but I do, at least until the point when it starts clipping through the armour. Then I have issues with it.
  14. Preorder

And someone just bought me it. So it's pre-loading as we speak.   And here was me thinking I'd have time for work this week...   I don't get the negativity to pre-ordering it though, or those that call pre-ordering a cancer.
  15. Fallout 4 Discussion Thread

Factions that will need something? I'm guessing the Institute will be on the list but other than that you could go with the standard Fallout set: Brotherhood, Enclave, 'Raiders'. I'm not even sure if anyone knows the list of factions yet.
  16. Preorder

If I could justify not eating for a fortnight I'd have it pre-ordered now. As it is I'm juggling money to get it.
  17. Just a quick one since I have no idea how this has happened.   Using MO and the inbuilt LOOT. I run LOOT and get this result:   However if I try and load the game through SKSE I ctd before the main menu screen. Upon running TES5Edit it fails to load as the Unoffical Patch is in the wrong place. How do I fix this?
  18. So I found SexLab. And installed it and probably have it working (tested on a random, need to tweak a couple of things but it's in). Then I found the Dance Synch from Casualmods. And I like the look of it.   So after a few hours trying to get the dances to work (I've followed the instructions about a dozen times for the installation of the major stuff) I've gotten nowhere except that the menu's appear in-game, I can be 'ported to the Dance Hall, I get music playing but if I choose to activate a dance I get no animation going.    So what have I missed? I'm using Mod Organiser for most everything except for installing this as it has it's own separate thing. And yes I know about the FNIS issue, which is why that's been locked in for hours before I started really trying to get this working.   (If anyone has both working and could explain how they got them working that would be great.)
  19. Load Order Problem - Unofficial Patch

Funny thing (currently in class again so can't get back to the PC to upload more screens):   updated the MO and that resolved the load order problem so that it now looks correct. So there's that.  TES5Edit loads everything I want it to without spitting up an error. LOOT loads everything without spitting up an error.   Skyrim still crashes after the splash screen but before the main menu can load up. So there's something wrong here and I'd rather not do the old faithful of uninstall/reinstall everything so what ideas have you got for bugfixing/testing?
  20. Load Order Problem - Unofficial Patch

Okay that has kind of solved half the problem.   LOOT now has that setup so on the LOOT screen it shows the USKP loaded after the update.esm. However MO still doesn't update it's load order, nor is the load order in TES5Edit affected (I use that to check if I can even load anything at the moment and I get the same results each time.)   If I try to rearrange the mod panel on the left side of the MO I get an error icon and am asked to rearrange the/fix the order.    Is there a master load list stored by MO? Because if so would deleting that and re-doing LOOT/sort fix this? It feels like something somewhere has locked the load order and it wont update or allow for editing.

Is that the vault meat pics?
  22. Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Modding

Hey is there a basic modding guide for this? Like what programmes for launching, do I need all the (expensive) steam DLC, etc? There's a lot in this thread to go through a d those things aren't really in the first page.
  23. Hey, not asking for a conversion as such just a quick way of converting all of this: hhttp://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/7782/?(the ADEC armour and clothing packs). Happy to do it myself.. heck got started on it earlier and had moderate looking success with the Blades armour in Outfit studio but I seem to suck massively when it came to doing the Dwarven gear.
  24. Hey just got Skyrim (after way too many years of not having it) and doing the customary 'run without game deforming mods' thing.. except for a few things that just had to be resolved.   So I was wondering if there was a more complete CBBE armour replacer that isn't very, VERY skimpy (something like http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12273/? but well... more of?)
