I think it would also help to put some kind of light source in front of the character. Therefore, it would make it easier to focus more on said character instead of the busy background. Her skintone and lack of light causes her to blend in with the background too easily as is.

You have no idea how much I envy you right now. To be able to have a positive outlook on life with no regrets. If it was a different manufacturer, I'd suggest to root and look for custom Lollipop roms for your devices.  But since we are talking about Samsung and their known stance against rooting (Knox bootloader), I don't know what to tell you.   Try going to XDA or Android Forums for more insight.
