Oblivion crashes after fast traveling

Hey all, recently decided to do another full run of Oblivion with a bunch of new mods installed. I think I may have went a little too crazy with them because after being told to track down the Mythic Dawn Commentaries, my game crashes to desktop upon fast traveling or entering any other area other then the Arch Mages lobby or Arcane University. I disabled just about every non-essential esp I could to try and find the culprit but no luck.

Also, despite seeing many people warning against keeping auto save after travel, wait etc on, I kept it enabled anyway, don't think that would cause such consistent crashes though.

Any help would be appreciated.

Your load order is completely messed up. You will have to wait for someone more experienced in load orders to come and help you out.

First thing first, disable the fast travel auto save and see if it works.

It's an easy debug anyone can do, so do it.

Past that I'm not going to be awake long enough to look thru the load order, however odds are it's due to conflicting mods which come into play pretty much anywhere than those two places.

Also try to fast travel to random places in the world, for example the exit from the intro dungeon since almost no mods edit that, and see if you still crash.

Also, use the oblivion mod managers conflict detector and see what it pulls up in the way of conflicting mods.

Make sure you can have both installed and were not supposed to just use one or the other.

I am certain these are duplicates:

One (EV) is the english version and one (DV) is the german version. Pick only one or the other and not both.

Next, make the bottom of your load order look like this:

Do not allow any mods to be below these as they can override their scripts and break things.

Next, move all of your companion and clothing\armor mods up in your load order (just under Castle Almgard should be fine).

Next, DO disable save on fast travel and for the love of all that is holy please turn off autosaves and NEVER quicksave. If making manual saves (hitting the escape button and selecting new save) is too bothersome just grab "streamline" from the nexus as it has an autosave feature that won't crash or corrupt your game\saves.

Once you make those changes, try things out and see if that fixes anything. If not then repost your load order and we can go from there.

I tried again with the above load order and auto saves disabled, still crashes to desktop. Started a new save, messed around for about half an hour, went to the arcane university and same thing happens.

So basically he just didn't bother to read the readmes and installed shit that'd have massive conflicts when activated together.

One problem you have that is probably the root of most of your crashes is that you have a bunch of CM partner mods that are above their master: CM Partners.esp

You need to move CM Partners.esp up in your load order to be "above" all cm partner mods, like CMSuccubusSS&L.esp, CMpartnerTifa.esp and CM Partner Triss.esp to name a few. If you are using BOSS then I don't know why it did not fix that for you.

Perhaps when you were shifting stuff about for lovers you forgot to do this. Boss does a decent job with most plugins but is sucks hairy balls with lovers plugins. It puts them in the wrong places and in the wrong order.

Boss does pretty good with most normal mods. It is lovers stuff that it fucks up on.
