When Oblivion crashes/freezes, windows task manager can't kill the process..

Hi guys, as the topic states, I've had this problem occur a while ago and I had 3 game freezes thus far. My 1st freeze was when I tried to exit the inventory, it just froze there with the music still looping behind yet I could still move my mouse. In this freeze, I managed to kill the Oblivion process using task manager just fine so it's cool, I can live with that. Now let me describe to my 2 recent freezes that really scared me and this is where the issue stated in the topic happened. My last 2 freezes were different from the 1st one and these 2 had the same symptoms. In these 2 freezes, the game completely froze and by this I mean that there are no sounds, can't move mouse, character and npcs don't move at all. The last 2 freezes happened in different times and in 2 different saves with 2 different characters. The 2nd one happened when I was about to enter and door in the Kvatch oblivion area, and the 3rd one happened when I casted a healing spell. When these 2 freezes happened, I was still able to use alt-tab, ctrl-esc for start menu, and also open windows task manager. But when I tried to end the game's process(Oblivion.exe specifically), it just wouldn't close the game nor does it disappear from my process list. Since I'm a pretty impatient man, I just decided to reboot my system and be done with it, though I really hate doing a force reboot since we all know it's bad for your system. Also I never really tried to wait it out and see if it closes itself after a while when I end the process since the idea that maybe the task manager is just taking a while to end it never really entered my mind at that time. Maybe I'll try that when this type of freeze happens again(hope not). Anyways, I hope you guys can give me some advice on this problem since I really don't want to do force reboots.

CPU - Intel Core i3 @ 3.07Ghz

Graphics card - ATI Radeon 4670HD 1gb DDR3

RAM - 2gb DDR3(forgot the brand and model name)

OS - WinXP SP2

Alos forgot the MOBO's brand and model name but it works perfectly fine with these

And my rig is just 7 months old.

I hope someone can help. The last 2 freezes really scared me. Heck, even Fallout 3(another really buggy but great game made by Bethesda) never gave me this kind of freeze before(only some CTDs and whatnot) and my system ran that game perfectly. And finally, sorry for the wall of text.

The second 'were you logged in as an administrator or with administrator privileges'?

If you don't have sufficient privs, you can't kill another process, and sometimes not even then.

As an aside, there is an account superior to administrator, 'system'. As far as I know, you can't log in as system but you can promote yourself to system from administrator reasonable easily.

I already posted my OS, it's included on my specs and it's WinXP SP2. And I'm always logged in as an administrator since I only use the administrator account and I never really bothered creating other account because I'm the only one who uses the PC anyway.
