Nexus hates me.

For some reason New Vegas Nexus won't load on my computer. All other Nexus sites will load, just not New Vegas. And it doesn't matter what browser I use either. IE, Firefox, Chrome, nada. Yet I can access the site on my mobile phone. Anyone have any idea what gives?

I had that problem once with a corrupted cookie or something else broken in my browser cache. I got there with clearing my cache and by going on a different Nexus site and choosing the NewVegasNexus from the top right "nexus network" dropdown menu.

I've tried clearing my cache, my cookies, my temporary files, no dice. This is starting to piss me off.

Lol, I don't know if this helps, but here is a thread from the nexus forums.

They're suggesting to disable any adblockers and/or check your firewall/antivirus settings. It seems that only the FNV nexus is affected.

From the DarkOne himself

2 of your IP's were in the firewall for trying to crack the sites. That means someone on your IP range has been doing naughty things on the site and managed to get the IP banned. And it was recent as well. I've removed them but if they get automatically added again I won't be removing them again.

I wouldn't know how to "crack a site" if my life depended on it. Anyone know what the hell this means and how I can find out where its coming from to prevent it?

As it seems to be directed at you, I'd ask him what exactly it was. Doing "naughty things ... recently" seem a little generic. I mean, if someone is piggybacking off your wireless or has hacked your PC, you should get some more info out of him, as this is a serious matter and could affect far worse things. (than getting banned from the Nexus)

It could be also be a general IP range ban that was not from you personally. If that happens to be the case then you may have to look into using proxy if they ban your IP range again.

Well, I PMd DarkOne for more information. We'll see how it goes. I'd really hate to be banned on an IP level for something I didn't even know about.

he's ban happy' date=' banning entire ranges instead of the offending ip's cause it's easier, what a lazy F*&^. He's got the bloody tools but does he use them properly--nope. probably nothing more then spiders and crawlers.

Well in CERTAIN cases, range bans are effective, however I usually set them as permanent bans but delete them after a few months and just used them to dissuade the troll in question.

But yeah, baning IP ranges on a site like Nexus is usually stupid, however I'll reserve real judgement due to the fact that we don't know what happened (if anything).

Sounds like they want to get us to not use adblock and view their ads.

Thanks for the tips. I disabled my adblocker and I was able to get through to the server again.

It is quite strange really. I mean the adblocker never really interrupted a server like that before. I would expect NoScript to do something like that since it blocks java. I guess there is a lot I don't know about these addons for firefox that I am using.

Sounds like they're starting to adjust code to force people to not block ads.
