7950 artifacting

I bought a 7950 about a month ago, it is a pretty awesome card but from the getgo I had artifacts, with OC or without. I tried 12.10 drivers and 12.11 beta but I still get artifacts in either. I know for a fact that it is the card and not any other hardware because my other video card had no artifacts whatsoever. So is it safe to say that I should get it exchanged, it has a year warranty from the store on it (3 year from manufacturer) or is it just driver issues?

Artifacting is rarely a "driver" issue unless you have a driver that is badly out of date. Generally it is either a bad card or a heat issue.

I personally would get it exchanged immediately.

Definitely no heat issues. Max temp is 67 C under load. I'm going to go talk to customer service tomorrow and then return it on Monday or sometime next week, I imagine they will want to test it before they give me another one...unless I get lucky.

Generally they just give you a new one. It typically isn't worth their time to "test" it. Depends on what company you bought it from.

Well I guess I gotta send it to the manufacturer. Sure it sucks but I still have my old one and it can tide me over for now. I just hope the process doesn't take ages.
