Make New Vegas more of an FPS

Hi, I want to replay New Vegas for the Nth time again, but sadly I have grown tired and abit disgusted with the typical leveling/bullet sponge enemies. I want to be able to start the game on normal and be able to kill NPC's and most creatures with 1 to 3 headshots at most. And I dont mean kill a deathclaw with a varmint rifle, That should require explosives or .50 cal snipers and such. I hate being able to kill unarmored NPC's easily at low levels and then having trouble killing the same NPC at high levels thanks to scaling. Same for creatures.

Sounds like what you want to do is remove the scaling, as that's the main problem.

If I wasn't horrible with the GECK I'd have allready done it myself.

The real problem is the majority of modders are oblivion fans who don' realize how bad level scaling like bethesda does it makes a game.

Real shame too, as most of the flaws could be corrected by small tweaks.

Most modders got their start from little changes they wanted that no one else would do. If you see a need, and no one else is filling that need, start reading tutorials and wikis and dicking around in the GECK until you can fix it.

And hey, if while you're learning someone else fixes the problem, you can always use your new knowledge to fix something else.

1. Arwen's Tweaks (the hardcore module I think) removes all HP-gain on levelling, so you shouldn't see much lategame bullet-sponging.

2. There's a mod called practice makes perfect which can optionally fake the player's level to 30, which essentially removes scaling.

3. If all else fails, get one of the damage uppers from XFO. You might have to manually increase the DT of all armour to keep it balanced, however.
