Blender Problem

ok, actually I have not the faintest clue how to uninstall Python. Aparently it is a beast to uninstall. I Googled the issue and all the topics that come up have either ambiguous solutions that are hard to follow or they have no resolution at all.

Can't you just use add\remove programs to uninstall it?

Speaking of Python, I have the following versions installed:

2.6

2.65 (32bit)

2.65 (64bit)

2.7

2.73

I have never bothered to uninstall the old when I installed the upgrades that came with the tools I was using.

no it does not show up in the programs and features uninstall through the control panel

so from the little bit of research that I have done there may have been an issue when I installed blender 2.62. It may have not installed Python to the correct Windows source path. If that is the case then there is the possibility that this 'corrupted' python installation could be interfering with the blender portable. Or I could be full of bullcrap but who knows?

Well I guess I won't be able to progress at all in the problem. I can't find any way to remove python from my system so there is no way to do a clean install.

google search uninstaller programs. these are used to uninstal programs which have uninstallers that are screwed up. i forget the name of the one i used before but cnet should have reviews and free ware versions.

There are two main options, both of which can work, both of which require a bit of care.

Definitely try what GSBModders recommended, an automated uninstall cleaner. It's easier and safer, but generally less thorough than what I am about to recommend. Just backup your registry before you run one.

If that doesn't work, here's what I generally do when things go south.

First, make sure that you have access to a system disk...just in case. Also, if you're set up for it, create a system restore point.

Next, it's time to start breaking stuff:

Click Start > run > regedit

This will open regedit which can be either your friend or your enemy. First thing to do, before you do anything else, is to click on file and export. Now save a copy of your registry someplace where you can find it again, so that you can reinstall it if things go south.

Next, use the find function and search for whatever strings you think might be associated with python. In this case, I'd probably start by searching just for "python" and deleting every key that comes up...but your mileage may vary.

Worse case scenario (if you royally fuck up and start deleting everything), you need to use the system disk to boot into repair mode to return to your system restore point or registry backup.

Best case scenario, five minutes of work removes all traces of Python from your system registry, which keeps it from causing any more problems.

Solved my own problem. So it was a problem in my Nvidia control panel. I had the setting on the equivilant of "choose my own settings" but it needed to be on "let the 3d application decide". No idea why that would cause problems but there you have it. DON'T SCREW WITH YOUR VIDEO SETTINGS IF YOU DON'T WANT SHIT TO HAPPEN. Then let that be a lesson to all the youngsters out there that want to make nude women in Blender. he he he
