Old Book

I Ain't Got No Body. Help.

This morning I chose to install a new SetBody Omod (the 2ch w/ bouncing butts version) only to find that when I removed my male character's clothing my character's body would only be visible in the inventory screen until I closed it, and would then disappear. My character was left as nothing but a floating head, hands and feet.

No problem, uninstall the Omod, right?

Nope. Uninstalling the Omod made no difference. Neither did creating new characters. As soon as I strip, my characters are bodiless.

Tried re-installing the All Male Bodies mod. Nothing. Still no body.

Tried re-installing the previous set body mod. Nothing.

Launched without the Bashed Patch in case it was something there. Nope, still no body.

I'm stumped. Short of a full re-install, any ideas on getting my character's body back?

I'm having a similar problem except that it's in NV. The reason I am having this problem is that ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated and steam are being bitches in that they won't let me move them or delete them and so, I can't correctly install archiveInvalidation Invalidated.

If you haven't already, make sure to install Oblivion's archiveinvalidation invalidated.

Hope this helps.

The new omod must have overwritten some of your original files. I presume, if you're anything like me, you didn't keep note of what they were and therefore can't easily replace them.

This is why I now BAIN install a lot of mods as Wrye tells you what it has overwritten and they can easily be reinstalled or be placed in an install order that sorts the problem. It keeps a full copy of the mod in a separate folder, safe from overwriting.

Unfortunately that doesn't solve your present crisis though. I fear it may be too late, or would take you far too long to fix and reinstall is your only option.

Consider, on your next build, what Bain has to offer you. I still use omod for some things - MBP works better for me that way. But Bain will show you where the conflicts are and you set to either anneal or set to install last the mod you want to be the winner.

I held off from using BAIN for a long time as I couldn't make sense of it. One day, it was like a "Damascus Road" experience and I've not looked back.

I've got ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated. Usually it helps, but not this time.

Yup, it looks like the OMOD overwrote something I can't yet get back. I'm still hoping to avoid a full re-install, though, as that will take at least a few days.

You use omods for everything don't you? When Something messed up MBP for me a while back, I uninstalled all the way through the "omod trail" practically back to the start and then installed 'em all in order again. Painstaking to be sure but it worked.

Load order different? look at a previous save and compare where the Roberts esp is now.

Or, you use a Bash patch. Try rebuilding the Bashed Patch without Roberts selected then rebuild with it in the Bashed Patch.
