The files in that tutorial are really out of date. Blender is fickle in that it needs the correct Python version. NifScripts requires a compatible PyFFI. Yet PyFFI can use the latest Python. I am running Blender on windows so I can't say if it will work on mac. But these are the files version I have install and in the order it should be install.

1. latest Version/Service Pack of VisualC++

2. Python 2.6.6

3. PyFFI 2.1.6

4. Blender 2.49b

5. Blender NifScripts 2.5.5

*Edit: If you did follow the instruction at nexus, then make sure you open a nif file by going to File > Import > NetImmerse/Gamebyro

I don't believe you need this:-

"1. latest Version/Service Pack of VisualC++"

Blender is written in Python.
