Saving is incredibly slow

Does anyone know of a mod that can speed up all types of saving (Auto, Quick and Regular). It takes a ridiculously long time for me to save (around 10 seconds) which is pretty annoying. It's not game breaking by any means but it would be more convenient. It's probably because of FCOM that it takes so long to save everything but it still shouldn't be this slow. Anyone know a fix or work around for this?

PS: Yes I have tried disabling autosave...but I need it sometimes because every once in a while when I quicksave it crashes (not very often but it happens) which corrupts the save.

i think it might depend on where you are too, i am running nearly max esps with fcom and it sometimes takes a while and sometimes not.

you might try streamline it is still pretty good.

there is also a custom save mod on nexus that will do autosaving, better than the ob save system. by the way quick saving i read isn't the best way to save, it is very buggy.

the best way to save is to just do it the old fashioned way for safty.

Demongoat is right, quick saving is a no no!! It will corrupt your saves and adds bloat as well. The best way is as he said the manual one (sucks doing but it is better than loosing your progress). The only auto save I use is a program called Streamline (saving is just 1 of many functions) however it is a complicated setup and install.

One thing you can do to speed up your saves is to delete all but your last couple of saves (or if you are paranoid like me just create a sub directory and move all but the last two or three into it). The fewer saves there are the faster Oblivion will save. When you notice it hanging again then you know it is time to purge your saves. I do it every hundred or so but that is just me.

You can try to use Wrye Bash > savegame remove bloat etc.

That sometimes fix the problem.

How many saves do you have?

If I have 600+ saves then the saving time takes a lot longer, but after deleting any that I don't need (which is most of them) saving is a lot faster.

Do you know where saves are located?

1 main save, 1 quicksave, 1 autosave.

Just 3? Okay, so it's not what I thought it was. Have you tried what other members have been suggesting?

Ya I probably will just go to saving manually. I haven't been playing much really just using it for screenies and vids at this point. I'm too busy with Just Cause 2 to play Oblivion as well.
