Tried and true, best choice mods?

First time I tried to play Oblivion.

Alright, I went and downloaded a torrent containing plenty of mods. By the time I was done the installation had gone to 44 gigabytes monstrosity, and some elements of the game felt broken right off the bat. So I deleted everything and I am starting over.

Which mods, in your opinion, I should add? This is my first time playing Oblivion so I want it to be as vanilla as possible, with a nice helping of LoversLab approved mods.

Assume naughty.

I'd suggest graphics/meshes improvement type mods and maybe bug fixing ones like the unofficial Oblivion patch series. Pretty much anything cosmetic isn't going to hurt the game, we all know vanilla Oblivion faces/characters are fugly and I don't see fugliness adding to the storyline. As for what mesh/texture improving mods that's up to you. Look around see what ones you like.

Nuts. After mangling Oblivion with the mods some more, everything seems to work fine, except that people do not have eyes... I think I missed something when I installed Beautiful People 2ch-Ed.

Would someone please post a screenshot of how the NPCs are supposed to look like after the mod has been applied correctly? I still see a bunch of NPCs with hideously square jaws.
