HOW TO UPDATE SKYRIM? WTF???

Also you can check the version of the game you are running easy with Steam, it works like the retail version of the games

 

- Go to your Steam directory.

- Open "Steamapps" and then the "Common" folder.

- Open the game in question.

- Find the game exe and right click "Properties".

- Select the details tab and you shouid see the game version listed there.

 

 

Never spam Support with help requests they will just ignore them all if you do, I know I would.

sorry about that : what i meant by stating that you can't check a download that STEAM updates within your gaming system wasn't that you can not check the game stats but by means of verification from Packet info and update history... when you update a game from STEAM it loads that info into Your steam folder from an off site package folder, where as if you go back to a game say  "Oblivion" and you request an Update you physically down load a package from the internet and then have a file you can back up and save for future reinstalls or updates as needed ... with that method you could verify the integrity of the Download prior to installation of it, where as with using Steams way of doing things you don't get that option and are then reliant on STEAM for all your needs, kinda like buying replacement parts for a Dell computer ...used to be DUDE you gotta a Dell, now its DUDE you got Screwwed!!!

Install Steam into a proper folder OUTSIDE of programs files then try using it, if its anything like Fallout 3 or NV then this is probably the problem.

i named the file x(86) its the only file on that Hard drive ...its not a Program file its a place holder file

I know what you are getting at though its not on my C: Drive but rather my............. T: Drive

Ok how can i make this clear to you so you can understand it.

 

ITS NOT A PROGRAM FILE!!!

X(86) is the name of the folder just like my S: Drive has an X(85)

My O/S has nothing to do with either of these folders.....

 

a typical program file (x86) has the tag of

Hard drive with the O/S installed on it typically C: Drive where my O/S is installed as well

C: New Volume C / program files (x86)/

 

VS.

 

T:/ x(86) / Steam : notice anything different about X(86) versus Program files (x86) ones in brackets and ones out of brackets

 

ones in Program files

 

ones just the name of a folder on totally different hard drive altogether

 

one has the path of a program file structure of in brackets (x86) while the other has them located out of brackets x(86) trust me  you may not be able to tell the difference but i think the PC is smart enough to know the difference and most are !

Windows will totally ignore it as it is not the folder it's looking for as it is spelt differently.

yeah after following Gregathit's advise "Who hit it on the nose" Steam went active and started downloading all patches and info for my game, I haven't had any issues past that point my game has been stable and i have been able to go offline and play it without it failing to initialize, the 1.8 patch that i currently have now it finished that yesterday .

 This issue is done .for the most part lol I still think STEAM needs to work something out with Bethesda though and get their patches set up to be more user friendly but that's my IMO
