Facebook hacked

Bah! There's nothing important on my Facebook.

Besides if it is true that nothing was compromised why cause needless panic when you don't need to?

I can't stand Facebook anymore. It has become so incredibly commercialized and that has only become increasingly worse since Facebook became an IPO. Not to mention that Facebook seems to be quite politically oriented, seemingly to lean left. I can make conservative oriented adds go away, but nothing I do seems to make liberal adds go away. I am so sick of seeing Elizabeth Warren's face on my page and I don't even live anywhere near Massachusetts. So, Facebook can go pound sand and while they are at it, they can also take their advertisements, particularly the left leaning ones, and shove them all smartly up their I/O.

Not like Facebook has my credit card info or anything else of real value, so meh. And the article says nothing of real value was accessed anyway, so as long as they plugged the security hole quickly afterwards who cares.

A lot of people have their credit card information on there, though.  It's pretty much a requirement for some of the more popular FB games.  As far as the site itself, yeah, it's turning into another MySpace, but I think part of the reason MySpace failed so hardcore was that they tried to do too much at once, as well as the demand for social networking wasn't nearly what it is now, nor was the technology saturation, IE smartphones, tablets, all that stuff.  I've been looking at Google+ as an alternative, but they're not much better as a company, their recent lawsuits against privacy companies being proof.  It just seems to me that companies are trying to forge ahead faster than a lot of consumers want.  Sure they're leaving their competition in the dust, but they're also leaving some of the older customer base behind as well, guys like me who have been browsing the web since Windows 95 was the hot new OS, and the MS vs Netscape browser wars were in full swing.

If people have their credit card info on Facebook, then they deserve what they get.

I actually use a reloadable card for that stuff.  My bank is overzealous on fraud protection, so half my online purchases get denied anyway, so I just go pull cash and reload the card at Wally world.

Technically I can call and have them authorize it, but I'd have to do it every time, so I just go prepaid.
