Alpha Channel Issues

Sigh I really dread to ask this because I feel this is a rather repetitive question but I am finding no answer anywhere and I am trying everything I can think of and nothing is working..

 

I've looked all over and there seems to be no answer for clothing ( I have seen for hair but never tested it)

I have 3 mods that are a few steps away from official release but I do not want to release it with this issue which can be bad depending on the hair and whats under it.

This is how bad the issue is and why I cannot release this mod yet.

 

 

As you can see the hat is totally balding my character and the skirt is making her panties go bye bye,

Now I have no clue what else I can do.

Also the meshes are just one alpha pertexturee (I also tried with together textures and did not have any results eighter)

I have no clue where else to go with this ><.

 

Anyhelp would be so great even if explained in simple terms (is best for me )

Yeah.. the rendering priority issue can be solved by face sorting(the one explained in your tut link) or separate/rejoining or copying/pasting... but that's within the same object. Two different object is a different story. I'm not sure if there is a proper solution..

Here's my suggestion anyway.

1. How about playing around with alpha flags? Well, I doubt anything other than 237 or 4845 will work well, though.

2. Before you throw in the towel, how about giving up the alpha property and using the material's alpha value? It has a big weakpoint you know, you cannot draw any complex pattern on your hat. Abd I don't even know if this will work, but no harm in giving it a try.

It seems texture format isn't correctly selected. make sure to use the Photoshop and DDS plugin and save the Texture in Alpha RGB mode.

You can find it under the material property. Below the glossiness value. 1 is no transparency and 0 is full transparency.

It needs NiAlphaProperty to work. Without it, material alpha value has no effect.

At the same time, you get the crap because you have NiAlphaProperty and texture alpha channel.

But material alpha value works even if there is no alpha channel, so you may want to separate your hat into two or more parts (transparent/non transparent parts) and remove the transparency map in the texture, and adjust the material alpha value of transparent part of your hat.

Simple trick! Except that I'm not sure this trick will work well. As you may have noticed, alpha channel conflict is clearly visible in NifSkope. So.. although I've never tested this way in game, I think this will work.

@Kepler007 actually the selection of characters was a mistake I was going to use my politically correct female character but late at night I was too tired to load her up, find the chest where I have the items. but you have a right to an opinion and I will not bash it  but please take this lesson try to keep an open mind about it. I respect the transgender community and think that they are just as normal as you are (being a female I presume) Remember we are not to judge others because we are far from perfect ourselves. Even if it was joke I just want to spread awareness also to let you know we have a wonderful LGBT community here as well and we should love them very much .

 

On topic though Thank you both so so very much for your feedback I am so going to play with it and see if I have luck, you both are awesome for taking the time to help me.

Ok I tried it the closest I have gotten so far is that I did what Kepler007 said with the Texture and then did what you said with the flags it is the closest thing to working, but when I go first person and out then BAM it is back to the annoying issues.

 

Also you know I hate to say it but the instructions from the Ziitch guy sound great and extensive but yet so very confusing especially with clothing.

Is it possible I send you the mesh and you can fix it up? is it OK I ask that of you?

I really hope that is not an issue, and it is totally OK if you say know cause it is probably a HUGE favor to ask (so sorry)

Hell if you can tell me what is done and possibly send me the tutorials for dumbies would be super grateful .

I am not against transgenders though I have never seen someone like them in real life . I think you people misunderstood me. I didn't even know what is that thing in between her legs. honestly it doesn't look like a penis but rather some kind of a boil that's why I felt weird. sorry for the off topic post.

Oh thank you so much for clarification. She just has a very small penis lol. I also used a hairy texture so I tend to get comments towards that often xD. Bet thank you for your earlier advice it did help to make some progress. I am still looking into it too. This is hard situation so hard *sniffle*

I totally will.  I am going to play around and take a suggestion that Movomo gave me too see if it works.

It is hard but there's GOT to be a way. If I can do this mod it would be my first mod that I can take satisfaction in (that and my first non Bikini style mod lol)
